What is growth/scaling?
Change of status every year
– Population is growing
– Our education system is growing tailoring to the
  needs of the opportunity in global market
– Literate band % is increasing in all states (more
  people opt for formal education till they graduate)
– More opportunities for acquiring specialized skills
– Job opportunities created by Govt. and Private
  firms
– Revenue of companies growing
Players
•   Federal Government
•   Organization/Industry
•   Educational Institute / Colleges
•   Students
•   Employed professionals
Federal Govt.
Challenges
• Population is growing
• Literate band % increase year on year is not OK
• Unemployment % increasing with the % of education
  completed people increasing year on year?
• IT Industry needs and the outcome from universities
  not in synch
• IT Industry growth policy vary between each political
  parties coming to power (there is no continuation of
  certain things working if started by previous Govt. )
• Running coalition Govt. is another BIG challenge
Organization/ Industry
Challenges
• Not getting right people just in time (JIT) when
  they need
• Significant investment to induct new hires from
  colleges so that they contribute fast to business
• Business unit predictions shifts suddenly by few
  months due to market situation
• How to achieve more from existing work force?
Colleges
Challenges
• Good students see many historical factors to
  choose the colleges
• Brand is on the net now a days for
  parents/students to rank the colleges
• Organizations make very good offers but delay in
  honoring their commitments
• Organizations also decide which college to go
  after and attracting good organizations is also
  important
Students
Challenges
• Campus interviews once cleared no other
  opportunities will be given to explore
• Delay may be there in starting our first job
• Which path to take is a confusion
  development/ testing/networking etc.?
• What are trends? Which additional skills I
  should build to increase my chances?
Employed professionals
Challenges
• Weak understanding of role clarity and
  expectations
• Skills required to perform and gaps unknown
• Working environment needs few changes to
  perform to their full potential
• Looking for continuous learning opportunity
  (challenging jobs gives a kick always to many)
