compares the working of society to a busy hive. The hive is flourishing until suddenly the bees
become honest and righteous leading them to live simple lives without a thrive community. Through
this analogy, Mandeville argues that pursuit of private vices generates public improvements and
economic prosperity, meaning, individuals tendencies to pursue their own vices, such as lust and greed

have their own share of stories. The artwork that I chose to dig into the story of is a piece that the
museum credits to have been done by the High Renaissance artist, Michelangelo Buonarroti, himself.

In 1938, B.F. Skinner published The Behaviour of Organisms, An experimental analysis. The
publication documented Skinner s findings in several experiments he conducted with the aim of
explaining how organisms learn behaviours and how this knowledge could be used to teach them new
ones. Skinner was a behaviourist and was therefore interested in overt behaviours that could be
observed and recorded. In his publication, he defines behaviour as follows, Behaviour is what an
organism is doing or more accurately what it is observed by another organism to be doing. (Skinner,
1938). While classical conditioning is passive, operant conditioning requires the learner to actively
operate on their environment. Therefore, operant conditioning mainly relies on the learner making
voluntary responses, for example, pushing the buttons on a TV remote to select a desired channel. In
Skinner s experiment, the learner was a white rat who was placed in a small chamber where there is

took place questioning as to whether the United Kingdom should leave the European Union, and thus,

whole family if they did not move or if they did she would also kill them. Rikki Tikki had come with
one egg in his mouth to bargain with Nagaina about not killing the family. He fought Nagaina, and
chased her away from the table where Teddy s family was eating. He ricked being killed by Nagaina
when he went to down a hole. Mongooses that are young are known not to survive this event, yet
Rikki Tikki did. He risked a very sad death for the sake of the family.
Rikki Tikki basically saved all of the creatures from the bungalow from Nag and Nagaina. Rikki Tikki
wanted the bungalow free of snakes, just like a mongoose would have it. He did the favor the birds
asked him to help them with and stayed with the plan the whole time. He stayed even though the one
snake problem ended up being a much bigger snake problem. He did the family a favor back in
exchange for them saving his life, Rikki Tikki saved them as well. In fact he did the whole bungalow a
favor for killing the snakes, the text mentioned it on page 243, that the birds were singing and the
