PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Treasury Dealer at Diamond Trust Bank (T) Ltd 2011 – 2013
Diamond Trust Bank is a full service commercial bank and is among the top 15 banks in Tanzania. As a
Treasury dealer, my role involved maximizing the profitability of the treasury operations and expanding
customer base while maintaining the banks liquidity at favorable interest costs.
o Experience
o Traded in various Money Market instruments to improve the banks NIM, by borrowing funds below
market benchmark and investing surplus funds in government securities with favorable interest rate returns.
o Generated new avenues for income for the Treasury by approaching customers with diverse FX
requirements and venturing into new currency positions, swaps & forwards.
o Enhanced the Treasury’s regional ranking within Diamond Trust Group by posting 10% higher yearly
profits as well as better turnover, than budgeted by the group treasury.
o Accepted responsibility of preparing ALCO and other internal reports and streamlined the process to
efficiently produce reports in less time.
o Successfully managed the Treasury's position through trading desk activities via Reuters and Citi
Velocity platforms to optimize the banks FX position and covered client’s current & future currency
requirements through forward & swap agreements.
Events Intern at University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) 2008 – 2011
UOWD is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the UAE and is listed among the top Universities in the
world. My role as an events intern involved assisting the department in reaching out to the student
community.
 Experience:
o Assisted in effectively planning and executing various student services events such as : Leadership
Ceremony, Multi Cultural Fest, Women's Day Program and other leadership workshops as part of the STAR
leadership program.
o Promoted and improved turnout in participation towards STAR Leadership program, by creative
advertising and effective communication of the benefits of the program via social interaction with the student
community.
o Efficiently collected and conveyed student feedback through regular social interaction, to enable the
provision of better services.

2. ACHIEVEMENTS
o Successfully represented UOWD in the CIMA Global Business Challenge 2011 attaining 1st position at
the Middle East Regional Final.
o Received honorable mention for the UOWD Spirit Award 2011, for outstanding university spirit through
involvement and leadership in the student community.
o Represented UOWD at the the Global Investment Research Challenge organized by CFA and awarded
2nd Position.
o Authored a student research paper on “Media’s role towards the environment in the GCC”,
accepted as a full paper by Academy of International Business.
o Presidentof Connexionz Club UOWD 2011; Vice President 2009-2011.
o Connexionz club is well known in UOWD with achievements such as the Read-to-Reach
program that sponsored student scholarships, Write-to Win competition sponsored by Virgin
Mega Stores and various charity events such as Ma’ana and Dubai cares week in UOWD.
