San Isidro is celebrated every year on May 15th in Madrid. He was a pious farmer born in 1070 who worked hard in the fields for many years, and it is said that angels would plow the land for him while he prayed. During the festival, people dress up and have a picnic called "La Pradera de San Isidro" in his honor, eating a traditional pie called "Rosquillas listas y tontas" and drinking lemonade to celebrate the patron saint of Madrid.
