9. Suvidha – Export Opportunities in the European Market
In Delhi, the project was started in partnership with Drenthe
University Team (Netherlands) for women of Nizamudin Basti
Suvidha is a women enterprising unit set up by “The Hope Foundation”.
It provides stitching and embroidery training to women, who can’t go outside to work.
These women manufacture various types of embroidered stuff like T-shirts, bags, Skirts etc.

10. Problems – What Issues They Were Facing?
The units was running in loss and unable to generate enough
resources to be self-sufficient in long run.
They were facing various problem, like:
Inability to find the target market for sales of their products domestically as well as internationally.
Inability to compete in the marketplace as cost of production was very high.
Inaccessibility to information regarding the customer preference, quality & color patterns.
Lack of knowledge of export procedures and international finance.
Inability to follow procedures and set standards.

11. Training – How We Did It?
We organize training session with the 5 students from
Drenthe University, The Netherlands
Our team along with these women drew the pictures of our family to build some comfort levels
with these women.
Later on, we all drew different kinds of pattern using colors, to check the types of colors and
patterns they preferred to use.
Our team analyzed the color scheme and patterns used by these women and suggested them
different combination which can suit to different European market.

Most of the women of villages of Rohtak district are
illiterate and have no income generation sources.
Level 1 Level 2 Level 3
To reach to our target audience, we made presentation at different levels.
Level 1: We initially tied-up with ‘Lakshmi Precision Screws Limited’ and delivered presentation
to its 15 employees. These employees helped us to arrange meeting with the village sarpanch.
Level 2: We explained our ideas and plans to the villages sarpanch, who permitted us to hold
meeting with the village women.
Level 3: We asked these women about their problems and tried to design unique program for
them to fulfill their requirements.

15. Solution – What We Did?
We started with 15 villages, but preferred to establish center
in 2 village and later on expanded to 5 village.
In Sunaria village, the centre was stared with providing sewing, stitching & embroidery training
to the women. Forty-seven women took part in the workshop. Women from the surrounding
villages are also encouraged to participate in the programmes.
In Girward village, focus was on provide training & development to women related to selling
FMCG products in and around their village and generate revenue. In early stage, with the
support of local brands (Nirol Soap, Swami Namkeen) the pilot run was initiated. It was started
with only five women who had undergone the training.
