1) Salah Din Ayubi was a warrior who lived in Damascus with his uncle Nur Din Zangi and was trained to fight from an early age. 2) He went on to conquer Egypt and territories from Egypt to Syria, defeating Sultan's armies and capturing parts of Palestine by 1177. 3) As a leader, he was known for his courage, forgiving enemies, and advising against killing captured kings, though he did order the killing of 4000 people in the city of Aqa. He died in 1193 after a successful but turbulent career expanding his territories through military victories.
