Sakura is a local, non-governmental youth organization established in 1990 in Bucharest, Romania. It was founded by young people who wanted to freely express their thoughts and interact with other young people from around the world. The organization has principles of freedom, democracy, and promoting human rights through educating youth. Sakura's target group is young people aged 10-30 and it currently has 87 youth members and 12 youth workers. The organization's activities focus on education, sports, social/health issues, people with disabilities, the environment, and arts/culture. Sakura funds these programs through internal and external donations and sponsorships.
