7. Working principle
In the beginning, the ram is at lowermost
position.
During idle period, high pressure liquid is
supplied by the pump.
Then pump admits this liquid in the hollow
space of cylinder, which raises ram, on
which heavy load is placed.
Flow of liquid continues till the ram is at it’s
uppermost position.
At this position, cylinder is full of water and
maximum amount of pressure energy is
accumulated.
This energy is later discharged to the
driven machine, during it’s working stroke.
8. When machine requires large
amount of energy, the hydraulic
accumulator will supply this
energy and ram will move
downward direction.
