In his sermon, Rev. Greg Briggs discusses the need for Christians to regain a prophetic voice. He cites passages from Jeremiah and John that warn against stealing God's message or ignoring those in need. Briggs encourages engaging social media to spread God's word, but warns against online ridicule that destroys community. Successful social movements relied on allies from outside the group; today Christians must support those nearing life's end as well as welcome new life.
Russian religious leaders again raised the issue of the prohibition of abortion. While we are talking only about the proposal to bring abortion out of the mandatory health insurance system, but in the future, as stated, they need to be banned completely. The WCC Central Committee undertook a visit to Israel and Palestine from March 7-12 to express solidarity with churches and people in the region. The delegation met with church leaders and representatives to discuss supporting peace initiatives and reflecting on the clear wish for a just peace. Despite being a religious minority, Christians are strongly active in public life and working for justice and peace. The WCC is committed to accompanying peace and reconciliation efforts in the Middle East and believes peaceful solutions can only be achieved together with others.
This document summarizes transgender issues in Semitic religions including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In Judaism, gender variant people are referenced in the Hebrew Bible and some rabbis have ruled that sex reassignment surgery is valid. Christian views vary widely between acceptance by some denominations to rejection by Catholicism. Islam does not mention gender variance in the Quran but one Hadith passage references innate gender characteristics. Iran funds sex changes as a "cure for homosexuality" despite punishing homosexuality with death.
This document summarizes the Yearly Report 2020 of the Religious Liberty Commission of the Evangelical Fellowship of India. It documents 327 cases of hate and targeted violence against Christians in India in 2020. The states with the highest number of incidents were Uttar Pradesh (95), Chhattisgarh (55), Jharkhand (28), and Madhya Pradesh (25). The months of March and October saw the highest number of incidents overall. The report appeals to the Government of India and state governments to ensure security for religious minorities.
This interview summarizes the key issues around a potential ban on abortion in Russia based on a petition signed by over 300,000 people. The expert interviewed, Boris Lordkipanidze, argues that removing abortion coverage from mandatory health insurance would disproportionately impact disadvantaged groups and likely increase unsafe abortions. It would also not achieve significant cost savings, as costs associated with treating complications from unsafe abortions would offset money saved from fewer legal abortions. The expert also discusses the lack of sex education and contraceptive use in Russia, religious influences on the debate, and the demographic challenges a ban could create.
Sex and the Church was a United Methodist project to publish a variety of articles and editorials about issues of sexual ethics for Christians. This was a post-publication supplement created to invited local congregations to engage with these ethical questions through discussion.

BARRIERS TO INTERPRETATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ABORTION LAWS IN GHANAIDS
The document discusses barriers to the interpretation and implementation of Ghana's abortion law. It outlines the law, which allows abortion in cases of rape, incest, fetal impairment or physical/mental health risks. However, the law is ambiguous and open to interpretation. It also discusses cultural and religious objections to abortion from Ghanian perspectives. Medical professionals express conscientious objections and refuse to provide or refer patients for abortions. Stakeholders recommend disseminating the law more clearly, increasing education around abortion issues, and facilitating discussions to build understanding between opposing viewpoints.
The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) has become a major political force in Russia since the election of Patriarch Kirill in 2008. Kirill has strengthened the ROC's influence in Russian politics and backed many government policies. However, the relationship has not always been cooperative; when the Bolsheviks took power in 1917 they declared atheism and persecuted the clergy. Since the fall of the USSR, the ROC and Russian government have formed a strong alliance where they support each other, though recent polls show more Russians questioning religion's role in society.
Role of religious communication during pandemic covid-19anshula garg
Religion and culture are essential elements of humanity, and it is through communication, that these elements of humanity are mediated.
Whether exploring these terms in health, interpersonal, intercultural, intergroup, mass, or other communication contexts, it is evident that understanding the intersection(s) among religion, culture, and communication offers vast opportunities for researchers and practitioners.
The relevance of messianic judaism in the modern centuryMarkJohan
The movement of Messianic Judaism originated in the 1960s-1970s by combining evangelical Christian theology with elements of Jewish religious terminology and practice. While they believe Jesus is the Messiah and Son of God, some do not emphasize Trinitarian beliefs. They consider both the New Testament and Hebrew Bible to be divinely inspired. Between 2003-2007, the number of Messianic worship houses in the U.S. increased from 150 to over 438, with over 100 located in Israel and elsewhere. Currently there are estimated 250,000 members in the U.S. and 6,000-15,000 in Israel.
The document discusses the oppression of minorities in Pakistan. It notes that since Pakistan's inception, successive regimes have violated the rights of minorities as enshrined in international standards. Minorities like Hindus, Christians, Ahmadis and Shias have faced discrimination, violence and forced conversions. The root cause is a lack of enlightened leadership and the influence of extremist Islamic groups on politicians seeking power. However, liberal forces now have an opportunity in the upcoming elections to promote progressive values of democracy, pluralism and human rights by appealing to Pakistan's original syncretic traditions and sidelining corrupt political elements.

The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) has 85 million members and is the largest Eastern Orthodox Church. It has close ties to the Russian government and influences the development of secular laws. Under Putin, the ROC works closely with the government and they share the goal of protecting Eastern Orthodox churches globally. The ROC opposes homosexual rights and supported the imprisonment of the punk band Pussy Riot for protesting in a church. Potential weaknesses of the ROC include its leader Kirill's unstable authority and the fact that Russian society is not entirely orthodox.
The document summarizes the debate around abortion bans in Poland. It discusses the Polish government's proposed law in October 2016 to criminalize abortion, which led to widespread protests across Poland involving tens of thousands of women. The government ultimately rejected the proposed ban. Currently, abortion is only legal in Poland under very limited circumstances. The document argues that restricting abortion increases health risks for Polish women and infringes on their human rights. It also discusses Poland's highly negative views around contraception due to Catholic influence, and how this contributes to unwanted pregnancies.
The document discusses the growing trend of secularism in Australia and its effects on religion and religious rituals. Secularism is increasing due to the influences of science, multiculturalism, and commercialism. Traditional religious holidays like Easter and Christmas have become more secular and commercialized. Easter is now more about chocolate bunnies and eggs rather than the religious meaning of resurrection. Christmas is widely celebrated in Australia by people of all faiths and those with no religion, focusing more on family gatherings than religious significance. Overall secularism is changing the way Australians practice and experience religion.

Five Russian leaders will spend time in Westchester County from February 28 to March 8 examining substance abuse issues. They will meet with local government and community leaders, agencies that address addiction, and leaders in substance abuse treatment. The Open World Leadership Center program aims to enhance cooperation between the US and Eurasia by developing a network of leaders and exposing them to American democracy, government, and communities.
The document discusses several obstacles to development in Egypt, including lack of freedom of the press, creativity, and religion. It notes recent crackdowns on protesters, journalists, and activists who are critical of the government. Restrictive new laws have been passed limiting the activities of NGOs and imposing censorship. Incidents of violence against Christians in Egypt are also mentioned. The optimal solution involves promoting discussion of societal problems and respecting freedoms of expression, press, and religion, which are important for democratic values and development.

The document summarizes the 2016 International Religious Freedom Report for Tunisia. It finds that while the constitution establishes Islam as the state religion and requires the President to be Muslim, it also declares Tunisia a civil state and guarantees freedom of belief. However, the Bahai community had its application to form an association twice denied. The government also ordered suspensions of the Islamic Hizb al-Tahrir party. Some religious minorities also reported facing societal pressure or threats. U.S. officials met with Tunisian authorities to encourage religious freedom and tolerance.
The document discusses issues related to religious pluralism and democracy in Israel. It encourages readers to vote in the World Zionist Organization elections to support Mercaz, which advocates for religious freedom and equality in Israel. It highlights how current policies favor Orthodox Judaism over other denominations like Conservative/Masorti Judaism. The document also notes the importance of engaging young American Jews and maintaining the connection between them and Israel.
The document argues that same-sex marriage should be legal worldwide for several reasons. It discusses how denying same-sex couples the right to marry is a form of discrimination that denies them basic human and civil rights. The document also references studies showing that children raised by same-sex couples have equal or better health and well-being outcomes compared to children raised by heterosexual couples. While some religions oppose same-sex marriage, civil marriage should be separated from religious marriage. Over 18 countries have now legalized same-sex marriage as attitudes become more accepting.
The document discusses the World Council of Churches and raises concerns about its goals and activities. It claims the WCC aims to establish a one world religion under Lucifer and questions whether its vision of Christianity aligns with traditional biblical teachings. It also argues that the WCC has close ties to the United Nations and seems focused on global political goals like socialism rather than religious purposes.

Why Psychological Safety Matters for Software Teams - ACE 2024 - Ben Linders.pdfBen Linders
Psychological safety in teams is important; team members must feel safe and able to communicate and collaborate effectively to deliver value. It’s also necessary to build long-lasting teams since things will happen and relationships will be strained.
But, how safe is a team? How can we determine if there are any factors that make the team unsafe or have an impact on the team’s culture?
In this mini-workshop, we’ll play games for psychological safety and team culture utilizing a deck of coaching cards, The Psychological Safety Cards. We will learn how to use gamification to gain a better understanding of what’s going on in teams. Individuals share what they have learned from working in teams, what has impacted the team’s safety and culture, and what has led to positive change.
Different game formats will be played in groups in parallel. Examples are an ice-breaker to get people talking about psychological safety, a constellation where people take positions about aspects of psychological safety in their team or organization, and collaborative card games where people work together to create an environment that fosters psychological safety.

Patriarch Kirill
signed a petition
against abortion
MOSCOW, RIA Novosti.
Patriarch Kirill signed a petition calling to
ban abortions in Russia. His position was
supported by the Supreme mufti of the
country.
Their signatures under
the petition in addition
to the Patriarch has
already supplied more
than 300 thousand
people.
The call to ban abortion
Appeal, the text of which was agreed with
the Patriarchal Commission on family
matters, protection of motherhood and
childhood, encourages, in particular, to
recognize that the conceived child, the
status of human beings, life, health and
well-being which should be protected by
law.
The document also proposed to ban
surgical and medical abortion,
contraceptives with abortive effects, assisted
reproductive technologies, integral to which
is the “humiliation of human dignity and
the murder of children in the initial stages
of embryonic development.”
The authors also expressed the idea to
provide financial assistance from the
Federal budget to pregnant women and
families with children in the amount not
less than the subsistence minimum.
Treated with understanding
The position of the Patriarch was
supported by the Supreme mufti of Russia
Talgat Tadzhuddin.
On the question of
whether he is ready to
sign such an appeal, the
mufti replied: “Yes,
without a doubt. This is
godly.”
While the Tadjuddin said that in Islam it is
allowed abortion only “for medical
reasons” if there is a threat to life, health of
women, in all other cases, he said, “about
the murder of the child.”
With understanding the decision of Cyril
reacted and in the Catholic Church.
“The Catholic Church does not support
abortion. Moreover, a woman who
committed abortion and all who took
direct part in this and took it physical or
moral pressure will automatically fall under
the excommunication of the so-called ex
communication”, told RIA Novosti
Secretary General of the Conference of
Catholic bishops of Russia, priest Igor
Kovalevsky.
The priest added that
“Russia is currently one
of the countries where
the abortion laws are
very liberal.”
The goal is to raise a million

for their work and blessed them, told in the
Patriarchal press service.
“Activists of the movement “For life”
raised more than 300 thousand signatures.
About 200 thousand signatures are handled
in the regions. The goal is to change public
opinion, and when it will be collected one
million signatures to send to the
presidential Administration”, wrote on his
page in Facebook the head of the
movement “For life” Sergey Chesnokov.
The response to the
appeal
Among the defenders
reaction to the decision
of the Patriarch has been
mixed.
Thus, the Chairman of the Public chamber
Commission on the support of family,
children and motherhood Diana Gurtskaya
supported Cyril.
“I think this is a very
progressive step and I
am sure that eventually
mankind will come to
this at different periods
resulted in the need for
the equality of women
or the guarantees of the rights of people of
different races and nationalities,” said
Gurtskaya RIA Novosti.
Gurtskaya also suggested for women
planning an abortion to give birth and to
give the children to her.
The member of the OP stressed that
society must do everything to ensure that
“women have children and not abortion”.
At the same time the adviser of the
Plenipotentiary representative of the
Federation Council for cooperation with
commissioners for human rights and child
Boris Lordkipanidze believes that the
Church must engage the souls of men, not
laws.
According to him, it
would be better if
women refused
abortions “as a result of
prohibition, as a result
of the work of the
Church.” Lordkipanidze
added that the Church should spare no
efforts in shaping the personality since
childhood that the woman understood
what motherhood that the woman
understood what chastity”.
Benefits for mothers, equal to the
minimum, he called “populist” idea taking
into account the economic situation of the
country.
A ban on abortion in modern conditions
will lead to an increase in the number of
clandestine abortions in Russia, considers
the head of Committee on Affairs of public
associations and religious organisations the
state Duma of the VI convocation Yaroslav
Nilov.
He noted that in this
situation women who
want an abortion will
travel to neighboring
States and the use of
these medicines
purchased illegally for
abortion.
