Romeo And Juliet Compare And Contrast
Essay
Writing a "Romeo and Juliet Compare and Contrast Essay" can present both challenges and
opportunities for exploration. On one hand, the topic itself is rich with literary and dramatic
elements, offering a plethora of aspects to analyze and compare. However, the extensive history
of scholarly discussions surrounding Shakespeare's iconic play adds an additional layer of
complexity.
Crafting a thoughtful essay on this topic requires a deep understanding of the characters, themes,
and historical context of "Romeo and Juliet." It demands meticulous attention to detail and the
ability to draw meaningful connections between various elements of the play. The challenge lies
not only in providing a comprehensive analysis of the characters and their relationships but also
in offering a unique perspective that contributes to the existing body of literary criticism.
Moreover, the task involves navigating the intricate web of emotions and motivations that drive
the characters. Delving into the complexities of love, fate, and societal expectations within the
play requires a nuanced understanding and the ability to articulate these complexities coherently.
Additionally, striking a balance between comparing and contrasting elements without merely
listing them can be a delicate task.
However, for those willing to embrace the challenge, writing a "Romeo and Juliet Compare and
Contrast Essay" provides an opportunity to delve into the timeless themes of love and tragedy. It
allows the writer to explore the characters' multifaceted personalities and the interplay of various
literary devices employed by Shakespeare.
In conclusion, while writing such an essay may pose difficulties due to the depth and breadth of
the subject matter, it also offers a chance for intellectual growth and expression. With dedication
and careful analysis, one can produce an essay that not only meets academic standards but also
contributes to the ongoing discourse surrounding "Romeo and Juliet" and its enduring
significance.

The purpose of this is to inform you of several pieces of information that will be
handy while traveling to the UAE. UAE stands for United Arab Emirates, and is
made up of 7 different emirates; Abu Dhabi, Dubia, Sharjah, Ajmen, Fujairah, Ras
al Khaimah, and Umm al Qaiwan. The largest of these 7 emirates is Abu Dhabi.
Most of the UAE is desert, but also has dunes and coastal plains. (The Official
Portal of UAE Government, p. 1). Clothing is very important in the Middle East
for both women and men. Revealing clothing is not allowed. You should cover
your toes, arms, shoulders, and legs. For men, a suit and tie is most appropriate.
Stated by Bolduc (2014), Dark colors are viewed as more professional (p. 1).
Women are to wear a suit or skirt that falls below the knee. Bolduc (2014) said It s
not necessary for non Muslim women to wear the hijab, or headscarf, unless you
plan to visit a religious site during your trip (p. 1). Work attire is always formal,
except on Thursdays. When greeting professionals, always greet the most important
senior person first, this shows a sign of respect. Exchanging of business cards is
always done with the right hand. Business meetings are commonly delayed so keep
a flexible appointment schedule (Meetings, p.1). It s considered rude to point at
someone directly. Phone calls and text messages are often taken during meetings.

The Potential of Transgenic Organism
A Transgenic Organism is an organism that s genetic material has been transformed
using a technique called genetic engineering. This modification contains the
mutation, insertion, or deletion of genes. When there is an insertion of genes, they
are most commonly from a different species, this is known as horizontal genetransfer.
Another way genes can be transferred is in nature, when exogenous DNA(DNA
originating outside an organism that has been introduced into the organism) gets
through the organisms cell membrane. When biologists do this artificially, they can
either attach the gene to a virus, insert the gene into the nucleus, or use an electric
pulse.
Transgenic organisms are important to science because they have uses in biological
and medical research, production of pharmaceutical drugs, experimental medicine,
and agriculture. In medical applications, in cases of xenotransplantation (an operation
in which an organ or tissue is transferred from one animal to another of a different
species), a transgenic pig could be able to give a donation of the heart to a human.
Transgenic animals such as cows can produce more nutritious milk for human
consumption which can help in diets or supplements. In agricultural applications,
animals could improve quality that they give with meat and milk, gain disease
resistance, and breeding for selective traits.
Current research on GMO s has been done through loss of function, gain of function,

The Fall of the Weimar Republic Essay
The Weimar Republic would have continued to be a functional government far
longer than achieved if not for the defeat of WWI, the economic burdens imposed by
the Versailles Treaty, and the flawed Article 48 which all contributed to the down fall
of Germany s first attempt at a legitimate Democracy. This paper will argue that the
societal, economical, and constitutional aspects all played a role in the hopeless
Democracy Germanyattempted which ultimately lead Germany into a totalitarian
state that would further shake the world with the rise of the NSDAP and Adolf Hitler.
First, the defeat of WWI was not just the beginning of the Weimar Republicbut could
be considered a catalyst to its downfall as well. During the later stages of WWI ...

However, Ludendorff s plan backfired when Wilson s Points insisted that Germany
lay down all arms and dissolved its army to no more than 100,000 troops, as well
as all parties responsible resign (Peukert, 1987; 46). If Wilson s constitutional
reforms were to be implemented a democratic parliament could have been formed
(Peukert, 1987; 24). Obviously Germany was reluctant, at first, to accept all of the
responsibility of the war. To add to the attempt of keeping Germany a War state
and its reluctant surrender, Keiser Wilhelm II ordered a last attempt by the German
Naval Fleet to attack. This created a mutiny in Wilhelmshaven on October 28, 1918
and a sailor s resurrection in Kiel on November 3rd and 4th (Peukert, 1987; 27). The
peaceful revolutionary movement has begun in Germany and the citizens began
expressing they wanted a new government. During the revolution the Weimar
Republic was forming and it seemed to be doing so with little compromise from
polar parties. Somehow, the Weimar Constitution was written and the new
government began to practice democracy. Most of Germany, by now, wants to be a
viable part of the world and achieve a better standard of living, the newly formed
Weimar Republic and fragile economy will be tested with the Versailles Treaty.
Second, the reparations of the Versailles Treaty further stalled Germanys attempt at a
Democracy by critically maiming its economy. Germany,
The Beauty of Music
The streets were pumping with beautiful energy; the night sky was lit with floating
lanterns and there were gracefully dancing bodies everywhere. The siblings had to
hold onto each other s hands so they did not lose one another, that is how busy the
one street was. The sensational smell of chicken roasting in the hot halo of fire,
mixed with the sweet syrupy sauce wafted through the air; practically making
Constance s mouth water in a very un ladylike manner. Not that she cared. However,
her surrender to temptation as interrupted as burly arms grabbed her from behind.
Porthos laughed as Constance hugged him in marvellous nature.
You came! D Artagnan exclaimed as the three; Porthos, D Artagnan and Athos
figures emerged from the shadows. He kissed her hand in a gentlemanly manner,
his soft kind eyes never fleeing hers. Athos bowed his head as a welcoming gesture,
a man of mystery and frankly a man of little gestures. The three finally noticed the
group of men that surrounded her, it did not take long to realise who they were. At
last, we meet! D Artagnan shook each hand, easily gaining their approval and trust.
Jehan suspiciously watched the close proximity between this man and his sister; this
was not a simple friendship. The three looked at Constance expectantly, clearly
wishing to know why she had more male friends than women.
Theodore, Hugues and Jehan, these are my friends; D Artagnan, Porthos and Athos.
The six shared pleasantries, but Constance could see that
How to Predict the Selling Price of a House
Executive Summary
An analysis was done to find an equation that predicts the selling price of a house.
The data used in this research analysis to predict the selling price of a house is
shown in the Bryant/Smith Case 28 (See Appendix 1).
The null hypothesis stated that there is not a relationship between the selling price of
a house and its characteristics. The alternate hypothesis stated that there is a
relationship between the selling price of a house and its characteristics. A 95%
confidence level was chosen and a prediction interval which is a confidence interval
estimate of a predicted value of the selling price used. The MegaStat output of a

Even houses on the same road and in identical condition can sell for different prices
due to the negotiations that take place between buyer and seller on the price and the
property valuations that vary from agent to agent.
In a case study presented by Cain and Janssen, their approach was illustrated with
an actual situation in the pricing of townhouses. According to Cain and Janssen A
serviced parcel of land in a suburban location is proposed for a 16 unit townhouse
development. The developer has acquired the land, prepared plans and drawings,
secured zoning approval, applied for bank financing and commenced excavation.
Construction is set to begin. A major decision is the setting of prices for the units.
This is of critical importance to the success of the project. In particular, if the
prices are perceived by the market as too high, sales will be slow, and profits
eroded. If on the other hand prices are too low, profits may be foregone. Overpricing,
however, is more serious than under pricing in the present instance .
One key starting point for a House Price Index is a fixed housing stock. However,
the quality of the housing stock is likely to rise as a result of newly built homes.
This, in turn, causes the mean or median price to continue to rise even when
individual properties are not appreciating (Bailey et al, 1963). For example, if a
disproportionate number of high priced homes were sold in a given period, the mean
or median price would
Essay on King Oedipus
King Oedipus by Sophocles
Blindness is the downfall of the hero Oedipus in the play King Oedipus by
Sophocles. Not only does the blindness appear physically, but also egotistically as he
refuses to acknowledge the possibility of him actually being the murderer of Laius,
the former King of Thebes.
Coincidentally, he is also Oedipus s biological father. The use of light and dark in the
play is strategically applied in order to better understand the emotion that lies within
the characters.
As blame is placed upon Oedipus for the murder of Laius, he blinds himself from the
possible reality that he may be the killer. The people of Thebes are informed that
there is an impending curse upon them as a result of the murder mystery of their ...

The blindness of Oedipus leads to the darkness of Thebes also known as The City of
Light. We cannot believe, we cannot deny; all s dark. We fear, but we cannot see,
what is before us worry the townspeople. Dark, here, symbolizes the confusion that
is placed upon the people of Thebes. They are in a chasm trying to decipher what is
to be determined as true, the prophecy of Teiresias, or the good word of Oedipus.
After several testimonies, Oedipus opens his eyes and accepts the blame. In order
to deliver justice for his wrongs in killing his father and marrying his mother,
Oedipus chooses to blind himself physically. The Attendant explains the people
regarding the Oedipus s self inflicted injury. And thrust, from full arm s length, into
his eyes eyes that should see no longer his shame, his guilt, no longer see those they
should have never seen, nor see, unseeing, those he had longed to see, henceforth
seeing nothing but night. The use of night is similar to that of the use of dark
throughout the play. Night is in reference to lies. Everything that he, or his eye, has
seen has all resulted in the discovery of a lie. From the parents he thinks he has, to
the family that he has, the world he has created centers around a lie. Until the
moment he discovers that he has really killed his father, ironically, Oedipus has never

The Road The Story Of A Man And His Son
In Cormac McCarthy s The Road the story of a man and his son walking down a
road in a post apocalyptic world is told. McCarthy s tale of the end of the world is
set in a very realistic and dark setting while using depressing and miserable details
about the world around the man and his son and the survivors that they come to
encounter. Throughout the book, McCarthy writes about a fire that a manand his son
are carrying, while they struggle with the notion that they are the good guys who are
avoiding the bad guys in the world, all the while McCarthy leaves out somewhat
important details like what caused the end of the world and what his two
characters names are. McCarthy consistently writes about fire throughout the
book, be it both literally and metaphorically. The literal need for fire is essential for
the survival of the man and the boy, while the metaphorical fire is used as a
symbol of wanting to survive this bleak, depressing world. To the boy and the man
a real fire is needed to survive because McCarthy writes how it s the beginning of
winter and The few blankets they had would not keep them warm (McCarthy102).
Whereas the metaphorical fire is the motivation to survive, while the man is dying
he tells his son You have to carry the fire...It s real... It s inside you I can see it
(McCarthy279). Fire is used to symbolize survival in both the literal and figurative
way. Without the fire the man and the boy wouldn t survive by either freezing to
death or just
Film Paper on Boyz N The Hood
The characters: Tre Styles and Mookie are two young African Americans in the
films Boyz N The Hood and Do The Right Thing respectively. Both films were
released around the same time period, with DO THE RIGHT THING being released
in 1989, and BOYZ N THE HOOD in 1991. Both films are coming of age tales for
Tre and Mookie, they both reside in a low income, predominantly black
neighborhood. Both films share a common theme: the idea of hopelessness and
survival as a young black male in the hood. Both men are a product of what can only
be described as urban decay; they are trying to find their place in a society that doesn
t care much for their well being or success. BOYZ N THE HOOD and DO THE

Both Lee and Singleton strive to give an authentic picture of how black youth
interact with people of other races. For example, the Korean show owner from DO
THE RIGHT THING saying: I no white. I black, you, me, same. We same! tells the
black youth that other minorities in America have their own battles with civil
injustice from white authority. Spike Lee and John Singleton write their films
about inner city violence and black youth. Although they grew up in different parts
of the United States (John Singleton in Los Angeles and Spike Lee in New York)
they have something to say to society. They both strive to expose the realities faced
by African Americans, especially those in inner city ghettos. With Spike Lee
starring as Mookie and John Singleton embodying Tre, both directors showcase
their perspective on American society via their characters. Overall, BOYZ N THE
HOOD AND DO THE RIGHT THING showcase the dysfunction among inner city
blacks during the 1990 s. Both films have something to say about Amercian society,
and have a message (or warning) to other black men. Society views young black
inner city men as a lost cause, their only hope for success is to strive for something
better. To succeed these men must avoid the temptations of the hood, and get an

Symbolism In Salinger s The Catcher In The Rye
Salinger dispels common binary meanings assigned by society to many concepts,
displaying the spectrum of ways people can feel or react to any situation. As seen in
The Catcher in the Rye, Holden often shifts between roles such as the catcher , one
who guards the innocence of youth, and the caught , the embodiment of youthful
purity that must be protected. Salinger uses shifts of clothing as a recurring motif to
signify shifts of position and destinies (Takeuchi), emphasizing how one s role in life
can be fluid, not static. Throughout his journey, Holden Caulfield, the main
protagonist and narrator of Catcher in the Rye, exhibits this through clothing such as
his red hunting hat. Holden claims this hat to be a people shooting hat (Catcher in the
Rye), representing his role as the catcher who seeks to hunt down the purity of
childhoodin other humans, not animals. Holden perceives Phoebe as perfect,
constantly contrasting her the the phonies he meets. In doing so, Salinger denotes
Phoebe as the ideal Holden seeks. Despite his hat denoting him as the catcher at
first , Holden will at times adorn it, at others conceal it, or even transfer it to
Phoebe, along with its connotative meanings. By doing this, Holden entirely diverts
the traditional distinction, made by western society, between those who hunt, seek,
or catch other animals, to the prey they chase, and instead shows how Holden
seeks to preserve childhood innocence, yet, at times, needs the support of his sister
when he is devastated. Holden s role as the catcher is constantly changing and
cannot be confined to the single definition that Holden himself creates for the
catcher in the rye as the person who only protects children from danger, but rather,
must not be seen as an absolute. Holden himself realizes this at the climax of the
books as he watches Phoebe ride the carousel and comments that if they fall off, they
fall off, but it s bad if you say anything to them even though it contradicts his previous
claim that he wants to stop children from failing in any way (Weesner) as the catcher
in the Rye.
Salinger also creates ambiguity between the roles of mature adults and innocent
children through Holden, who is an adolescent that embodies
Fantasy Sports And Its Effect On The National Football
League
Abstract
The widespread growth of fantasy sports into a multi billion dollar industry has made
it an important component of the sports industry, mainly the NFL. All Sports leagues
must acknowledge the impact that fantasy sport has on the way its participants
consume their sport. This research paper examines the conception of fantasy sports
and explains it effects on the National Football league. Consumer involvement with
fantasy sports leads to a higher consumption of the NFL products and services.

NFL: Sports Fantasy Becomes Reality Introduction
This research paper will provide a discussion on the initial conception, importance,
and an explanation on the development of fantasy sport and its adoption by the
National Football league (NFL). The paper will also focus on the concept of
fantasy football considered the most popular fantasy sport, due to the high
participation rating, and its effects on the NFL and the various sport consumers. A
brief examination of the increase in consumer loyalty and brand identification as a
result of fantasy football participation as well as the effect of overall consumption of
the NFL will be provided in the following research.
Discussion
The unique presupposition of fantasy sports allows individual participants to act as
owners or general managers of their own sports teams. These members participate in
either an online or real world draft scenario. Each

that I learned is that in 1963, the F.W. WoolworthCompany purchased the Kinney

Minimum Wage And Magical Thinking Opinion
Minimum Wage and Magical Thinking Opinion In the reading of Minimum wage
and magical thinking he discusses that raising the minimum wage would have a
negative impact and would actually hurt those that it is supposed to help and I would
agree. Raising the minimum wage would cause inflation to rise, thus basically
canceling out what it was intended to do and making the US dollar worth less.
Secondly, minimum wageincrease would cause the price of goods to rise and then
less people will be buying so, then you are paying employees more and making less
revenue. Lastly, this would hurt the very people that raising the minimum wage is
intended to help because the number of jobs that are entry level or low skilled will
drop and then people who were making a 7.25 minimum wage will now be earning
a 0 dollar wage. Minimum wage does not need to increase, especially not as drastic
as some people are calling for and the positive outcome that is thought it would
produce actually would be doing more harm than good. If the minimum wage were to
rise inflationin turn would rise too as Issac Newton s third law says for every action
there is an equal and opposite reaction. The general idea is to pay people more money
, but not to increase the cost of goods which in a perfect world that may work, but
this is the real world and that isn t how it works. If for example, McDonalds starts
paying their minimum wage employees 10.10 nationwide in turn what used to be a
one dollar cheeseburger
Immortals Of Shiva
IMMORTALS OF MELUHA BOOK REVIEW
Summary: Immortals of Meluha by Amish is the first book of Shiva trilogy that
focuses on the making of the legend of lord Shiva. The story starts with the journey
of a person called Shiva.. He migrates from his home territory to Meluha in search of
safety and shelter. Shiva has to abandon his native place as it is frequently attacked
by neighbouring barbarian tribes leading to violence and bloodshed. When Shiva
abandons his land he meets Nandi, who is an outsider who comes from Meluha and
offers Shiva a safe passage to his land. Shiva accepts his proposal for the purpose of
saving his community from the barbarians. Shiva s arrival in Meluha started his
adventure of Neelkanth the man with blue throat . Shiva s throat turns azure as soon
as he drinks Somras. The Meluhans call themselves Suryavanshi and strongly believe

It uses unique terminologies. The best part of book is its story. The author has
portrayed our classical legends like Shiva, Sati, Nandi, Birbhadra, Daksh as true
human beings of flesh and blood and has used our Classical legends as the
springboard of his story. Author uses a lot of modern world lingo and also author
describes characters a bit modern. The characters are not new, but the tales, told in

the author has broken the stories into small episodes and readers will be attracted to

Abstract: In this paper proposed the fuzzy logic controller as an alternative solution
of conventional PID controller for speed control of separated excited DC motor.
Because many industrial applications need constant speed of a DC motor operation,
such as paper mills, steel rolling mill...etc. But the various loads were effected on
speed of DC motor, fuzzy logic controller gives better results in governing the speed
control of SEDC motor, the paper used MATLAB/Simulink to simulation DC motor
with fuzzy logic controller. The controller used seven memberships. Lastly, it s found
that the fuzzy logic controller provided better results for improving the dynamic
behavior of SEDC motor.

DC motor is transducer device that converts the electrical energy to mechanical
energy. Many industrial applications were used such as robotic manipulators,
electrical vehicles, steel rolling mills, and electrical cranes, due to simpler, less
precise, higher start torque characteristic and higher response
Driverless Car Insurance Research Paper
Humans have long sought to find ways to protect themselves from catastrophe.
Although we think of insurance as being about payments to cover financial losses,
historically, insurance has its roots in practices such as storing excess grain in order
to protect against famine or agreements between neighbors to help rebuild a barn or
house if one burned down. These practices and agreements helped protect both
individuals and society as a whole from catastrophic losses that would prevent people
from getting back up to speed and becoming productive again.
The History Of Insurance In America notes that one of the biggest changes in
insurance occurred when the creation of the Internet enabled people to seek out
online insurance quotes. Technology marches on and the buzz these days is all about

Those prediction posit that better public transportation from one city to another will
go hand in hand with these developments and that driverless cars will be a more
local phenomenon, taking you wherever you want to go within a particular city but
not from one city to another. The reality is that Europe currently has better public
transportation than the U.S. This is in part because Europe is simply more densely
populated, so public transportation makes more sense logistically. However,
Americans have a strong tendency currently to live in one city and work in another
or live in an unincorporated suburb and commute elsewhere. They also have a
tendency to take their car for long distance trips, whether business or vacations. Cars
are currently not used as just local transportation, so it might be a bit of stretch to
predict that people will give them up entirely and readily adapt to a very different
transportation paradigm and all that goes with

Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden gate bridge was always a beautiful monument to me because of its golden
color. When I was 12 years old my cousin took me to San Francisco, and we crossed
the Golden gate bridge. I was scared that it wasn?t safe because when we would come
to a complete stop I could feel the bridge moving. I was scared the bridge would
collapse! This was an experience I d never forget. Now I have the opportunity to
learn about it, I want to see if the bridge is safe, how its constructed, and who built
it? In order for the bridge to be built it had to be approved by the war department
because they owned the land on both sides of the bridge. The first permit the

The materials they used to build the bridge were concrete, strands of wire, and
rivets. The way they built it was by building the towers first and then the weight
would be hung from the two main towers which were fixed in concrete at each end.
Each cable was made up of about 28,000 strands of wire. There are 80,000 miles of
wire in the main cables. It was made into a suspension bridge. The bridge has
approximately 1,200,000 rivets. Comment by Ray Enostrosa: Are they famous? What
else did they build? did they always work together?
The making of the bridge impacted many people especially the people from San
Francisco and Marin County, California. Before, the bridge people would have to
cross the waters by boat to get to San Francisco or Marin county. Once the bridge
was built people could drive and walk across and its 1.7 miles.
Today the golden gate bridge still stands after 79 years. After learning all of this
about the Golden gate bridge I feel that the Golden gate bridge is safer and it was
made to hold thousands and thousands of pounds. The architects that designed the
bridge designed it to withhold it makes me feel safer going back.

The Devil Is The Embodiment Of Evil
The Devil or Lucifer is arguably one of the most famous figures in existence. He is
considered the Prince of Darkness and is supposed to be the embodiment of evil.
However, our perception of the Devil has changed drastically over the centuries.
Satan can mean something very different depending on the person. Some see the
Devil as their godor a hero and others seem him as a symbol of all that is wicked.
Some may view the Devil as nothing, but a joke and others believe he is as real as
the rest of us. The concept of the Devil continues to evolve. The first mention of the
Devil or Satan rather dates back to the first chapters of the Hebrew Biblein the Middle
East. This book is called the Old Testament. However, the character named Satan in
the Old Testament is not the Satan of today. There is no opposing evil force in the
Old Testament and there was no Hell. In the Old Testament Satan is an angel and
God s servant. He exists to do God s bidding and has no real power of his own. He
is the opposite of the character we come to know in the following centuries. The
concept of modern day evil Satan seems to stem from Zoroastrianism. Zoroaster
simplified things with his belief in one good god and one bad god. This created
separation between good and evil. Zoroastrianism has influenced the Jewish
scriptures and this begins the creation of a different Satan from the one in the Old
Testament. The concept of the Devil was also influenced by the Greek Gods. One

Presidential vs parliamentary systems Essay
Presidential versus parliamentary systems
ILONA MГЃRIA SZILГЃGYI

This article is a comparison of presidential and parliamentary systems. They are the
two most popular types of democratic governments. They have common and
dissimilar features.
In both presidential and parliamentary systems the chief executive can be removed
from office by the legislature but the way of it is different. Dissimilar feature is the
election of the chief executive and the debate styles. I present the two best examples
of these systems: the USA (presidentialism) and the UK (parliamentary system).
Consequently nations can choose which system they sympathise: the more classic
parliamentary system ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The President is both the chief executive and the head of state. The President is
elected independently of the legislature. The powers invested in the President are
usually balanced against those vested in the legislature. In the American presidential
system, the legislature must debate and pass various bills. The President has the
power to veto the bill, preventing its adoption. However, the legislature may override
the President s veto if they can muster enough votes. The American President s
broadest powers rest in foreign affairs. The
President has the right to deploy the military in most situations, but does not have the
right to officially declare war. More recently the American President requested the
right to approve treaties without the consent of the legislature. The American
Congress denied this bill and was able to override the President s veto [1].
A presidential system is a system of government where an executive branch exists and
presides (hence the name) separately from the legislature, to which it is not
accountable and which cannot, in normal circumstances, dismiss it.
It owes its origins to the medieval monarchies of France, England and Scotland where
executive authority was vested in the Crown, not in meetings of the estates of the
realm (i.e., parliament): the Estates General of France, the Parliament of

Case Study Of Ant Colony Optimization
1.6Ant Colony Optimization: 1.6.1Introduction The conception of massive Gordian
behavior emerging from the behavior of many relatively simple units, and the
dealings with them, is fundamental to the field of Artificial Intelligence. The
growing understanding of such systems offers the prospect of creating artificial
systems which are controlled by such significant shared behavior; in particular, we
believe that the sweating of this concept might lead to entirely new channels for the
pilotage of distributed systems, such as load balancing in telecommunications
networks. In such regimes, requests between any two points typically route through
some central switching bureau or nodes in a big system; there are many future paths
for each such call. It is thus viable to emancipate actual or potential local hurdles by
routing requests via parts of the system which have extra capacity. Load balancing is
essentially the creation of call routing schemes which successfully assign the
changing load over the system and curtail lost requests. Of course, it is viable to
determine the shortest routes from every node to every other node of the network.
With the help of this mean utilization of nodes reduces, but this is not necessarily the
drift way to avoid node congestion, as this has to do with how the vivisection of the
traffic on the network. Controlling distributed systems through a single central

Concert Ethnography
Concert Ethnography: Vijay Iyer Sixtet The performance by the Vijay Iyer Sextet
on March 7 at Memorial Hall reveals a deeper connection between jazz and the
public s interest in evocative tones. Vijay Iyer is a Grammy nominated jazz
composer and pianist. He is the main composer for the sextet and is seen as the
unspoken leader. His sextet is made up of five of his other closest friends, who are
all composers and musicians as well. The musicthis group performs is categorized as
improvisational jazz. However, the music also includes different styles of music
from other genres. By playing music that encompasses several different genres, the

The instrumentation of the show included a piano, bass, drums, saxophone, trumpet,
fugal horn, and soundboard. The use of popular jazz instruments further reveals the
performer s intention to give the audience a taste of the sentimental, antique tones of
jazz music. As the instrumentation reveals the genre of the music being performed,
the stage for the show was set up in a way that highlighted the artists performing solos
during the improvisational pieces. For example, the use of lights played a large role
in visually isolating the soloists. The lights used during the show only illuminated the
performers that were located upstage, while there were no lights used to illuminate
downstage. Thus, as performers were not playing in the piece they would move
downstage into the darkness. This would cause the focus of the audience to shift to
the other performers that were still playing. The intentional movement of the artists
downstage reveals the artist s intent to highlight each individual instrument in the
sextet and the improvisational skills of the artist playing them. Also, the visual
depiction of an artist emerging from the shadows located downstage and playing
prompted the audience to clap. The clapping was also prompted after a musician
finishes the personal solo improvisational piece within a song. The clapping from the

My Experience At My Part Time Job
Over the past few months, I have been working diligently at my part time job. After
saving every last penny that I earned, I now have a total of $3,000. What better way
to spend my summer earnings than to treat myself to an extravagant vacation? To
make my extremely difficult decision of where to go easier, I have narrowed down
my choice to only two destinations: Brussels, Belgium, and Dubai, United Arab
Emirates. Although I have simplified my selection to only two vacations, the
decision is still quite difficult; after comparing my transportation costs, the price
of my hotel and other essential accommodations, average meal prices, and the
exciting excursions I have planned, my decision should come much easier. Every
child s dream, including mine, is to be surrounded by chocolate for a week; this
dream of mine has lured me to consider Brussels, Belgium, as a lavish vacation
spot. Before I can begin my journey there, I have decided to organize a detailed
plan of my exhilarating vacation. First, my family generously offered to drive me
to the Memphis International Airport in Tennessee, where I will board my first
flight to Belgium on June first. Aside from my flight s estimated time to be fifteen
and a half hours long, I was able to find a good deal of $1,114.00 on tickets and
stay within my budget ( IEagle | Cheap Flight Ticket ). After arriving at the Brussels
National Airport, I will take the free airport shuttle to my hotel. Because of the unique

Happiest Moment
What was the happiest moment of your childhood? Just the thought of it probably
brings a smile to your face. Take the time to imagine that moment without your
parent(s). Would you still consider it a happy moment? Many children face this
reality daily and it s out of their control. One would like to think that it s due to their
parent passing away, being deployed, or something of that nature. These children
have lost their parents in a much different way. They have lost them to the department
of corrections due to crimes they may or may not have committed. The short and long
term effects of this lost can be devastating. In some cases, it can make or break their
futures. No matter where you look, you will find that the United States has the
highest rate of incarceration in the entire world. According to the U.S. Department of
Justice and the National Institute of Justice Journal, there were about 340,000 people
incarcerated in America in the 1970s. That number has risen to approximately 2.3
million currently. As a result, there are 2.7 million children with a parent incarcerated
at this time. This does not include persons who may be going through other stages of
the criminal justiceprocess such as probation or parole, which can also effect families,
homes, and the children who live in them.
Having an absentee parent due to incarceration has often been compared to losing a
parent from divorce and even death. Compared to both, children with an incarcerated
parent have been
What Helped Groupon Grow From The 400 Subscribers
What helped Groupon grow from the 400 subscribers in 2008 to the 60 million it
has today has been largely due to the company s ways of understanding their
customer s behavior. One of the main reasons they were able to grow in the way
they did, was due to Andrew Masons understanding of the current social trends. By
doing so Groupon was able to utilize the rapid growth of the Internet and technology
such as mobile applications, reaching out to their customers in a quick and simple
way, solving the problem of connecting with local consumers.
With an app like Groupon or Groupon Now , the company does large parts of the
problem recognition, for the consumer. With newsletters and daily deals the customer
is constantly fed with information to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The brilliance of the concept is that while engaging the consumers to stay on their
friends and family about the deals, they are simultaneously advertising the app and
concept. Groupon is basically acting as a bridge of communication between the
buyer and the seller, as the consumers may be unaware of the seller s very existence.
Another thing leading to the success of the Groupon concept was the Groupon
Promise . As the promise acts as insurance, this allows for consumers to be more
impulsive in their spending when participating in deals and discounts. It makes the
customer feel secure, knowing that Groupon is confident enough in their product to
take the risk for them, providing them only the best, or they will get refunded.
In conclusion, the understanding of consumer behavior mixed with the growing
social trends of technology was a crucial part in the growth of Groupon in 2008. By
being able to understand consumers and the target market, Groupon were able to
affect the wants of their customers and help start their process of the purchase
decision using daily deals, providing them with warranties such as the Groupon
Promise and discounted prices.
2.What is the Groupon Promise? How does the Groupon Promise affect a consumer s
perceived risk and cognitive dissonance?
The Groupon Promise states that, any customer can return a
Steps in Banana Shoot-Tip Culture
In this era of science and technology, inventions are being made to improve the
economic marketing especially. One of the new inventions is from agriculture sector,
which is plant tissue culture. Nowadays, banana tissue culture is one of the famous
inventions created by agriculturist. Robinson and SaГєco (2010) mentioned that,
banana is ranked second among the other fruit in most important fruit crop since it is
high fruit production and high demands in the market. As elaborated by Singh, Uma,
Selvarajan and Karihaloo (2011), there are five steps in banana shoot tip culture
namely selecting of sucker, sterilizing of instruments, medium and environment,
introducing the explant to Murashigee Skoog (MS) medium, sub culturing the
callus, and lastly is weaning and hardening of plantlets. (refer to Figure 1 in
Appendix 1) The first step in banana shoot tip tissue culture technique is selection of
healthy sucker. During this stage, a healthy sucker is chosen when it is about four
months of age. The healthy and young sucker is selected because they have higher
rate differentiation, which helps them to grow rapidly. Then, the outer tissue and the
root of the sucker is pared away until the size of meristem tissue is suitable to the
size of petri dish, which is about 1.0 to 2.0 cm diameter (Singh et al., 2011). Next, the
tissue is sterilized with bleach and it is rinsed with distilled water for three times. The
second step is sterilizing of the instruments, medium and environments.

is taken, you need to build a strong case for a personal injury accident lawsuit
which requires a great deal of time and resources. Finding and serving the negligent

How Advertising Has Changed Since The World Of Pay
Per...
Advertising has changed significantly since the introduction of the Internet. In the
past, advertising mediums such as radio, print, and television ads dominated
companies marketing plans. As the Internet gained prevalence, more and more of
companies money has been siphoned into email, social media, and Pay Per Click
advertising. In recent years, this has led to marketers placing more and more weight
on analysis like Click Through Rate, Cost Per Click, and Cost Per Acquisition. All
of these terms exist within the world of Pay Per Click advertising, which has
become one of the most prominent forms of advertising on the internet. Due to
society s increased reliance on the Internet, Pay Per Click advertising will continue
to grow for years to come. Pay Per Click advertising, or PPC, refers to the type of
advertising commonly found on Google, Bing, other search engines, and even
within some websites. One example of how PPC advertising works is Google
AdWords. This is the software which allows advertisers to publish their ads on
Google, and having a basic understanding of how it works is key to being able to
understand why PPC is as important as it is. To begin with, the simplest form of
PPC are the text ads at the top of a Google search. These are a part of the Google
Search Network, and they often look almost the same as organic search results
(organic results are results that appear without any money being spent). The ads
appear at the top of the page, and, in case there
Compare And Contrast The Grimm Brother s Cinderella
Read the Grimm Brother s Cinderella ( National Geographic web site.) and at least
one other version of the story (see course materials for a list remember, Disney
versions are not a choice for this comparison.) How are the versions similar?
Different? Appropriate response is one to two well developed paragraphs.
In both stories Cinderella s mother died while she was still young, and her father re
married a vile woman with two equally wretched daughters who abused Cinderella.
Further similarities include the event held by the King to find a bride for his son,
the Prince and Cinderella receiving beautiful clothes and shoes to wear to the
festivities. Also, in both stories the prince chose Cinderella without hesitation and
her identity was not discovered by other party goers. A slipper was left behind in
each story as well, which remained how the prince eventually discovered the
mystery princess to be Cinderella so he could take her as his bride after many failed
to make the fit.
I did notice many differences in the stories of the Grimm Brother s and that written
by George Routledge Sons. For example, in the Grimm Brother s tale Cinderella did
not have a fairy godmother like that written by Routledge Sons, rather Cinderella
cried and prayed beneath a hazelnut tree that grew on her mother s grave and birds
brought her gifts instead. Furthermore, in the Grimm s tale, Cinderella ran to the
festival and did not arrive lavishly in a pumpkin turned carriage, and then escaped
Comparing The Etruscan Civilization Between C. 1000
And...
1.The Etruscan civilization flourished between c. 1000 and 100 B.C. also known
as the Iron Age (Villanovan) in Etruria or what is now known as modern day
Tuscany, Italy. Etruria s southern area was bordered by the Tiber River and its
northern area was bordered by the Arno River in which the areas were broken up into
city states ruled by their own rulers.
2.The Apollo of Veiiis a 5ft. 10 in. painted sculpture molded out of terra cotta. This
sculpture was originally a decoration on the roof of a temple built by the Etruscans.
Both the Greek and Etruscan s style of art was similar, with that being said the
particular sculpture is a resemblance of the Greek Archaic style of art. The
curvilinear style along with the flat surface patterns of the folds of the drape/ clothes
he was wearing, the diagonal calf muscles radiating from beneath the knee, the smile,
and the style in which the hair was made (long locks) are the same characteristics of
Archaic Greek art. The difference between the Etruscan and Greek art form lies in
the clear and crisp contours, forms and stylization, of Apollo s body along with the
fact that he is depicted as striding (showing fluid flowing movement). This is also
what makes the sculpture of Apollo of Veii realistic because the sculpture not only
shows fluid motion (the position of his legs and his stretched out arms) but also the
expression that is on Apollo s face.

Nature And Social Impact Of Television And Its Impact On...
Television has a great attractiveness for a people, forms the preference, style of
thinking and behavior. This is a significant mechanism which makes a big impact on
the human: Among of all other media out there, the TV is the most wanted in society
as this is the easiest way for a person to perceive the information because compared to
reading newspapers or listening to radio, a human makes the least mental effort.
Naturally, children fall under the influence of such a good assistant in the process of
discovering the world much easier than adults. Consequently, television by its nature
and social functions has enormous opportunities for influencing the inner world and
human behavior. American TV show about the outstanding doctor diagnostician

The Portuguese Empire lasted over six centuries, beginning in 1415, with the
conquest of Ceuta, a Moroccan port on the straits of Gibraltar, and one of Europe s
first attempt at colonization in Africa. This move was orchestrated by Prince Henry,
who was known as the Navigator . It was because of Prince Henry that Portugal
became an imperialist country, he studied navigation, and made improvements on
inventions like the astrolabe and compass, his goal was to make Portugal the most
powerful sea power in the world. Prince Henry sponsored many naval explorers
such as Bartolomeu Dias (who rounded the tip of Cape Hope in 1488) and Vasco de
Gama. Three years after Ceuta, a group of uninhabited islands were found off the
coast of Portugal, they were named the Madeiras, and almost immediately people
began to settle there, they as well as the Azores islands (another set of uninhabited
islands found in 1445) remain an autonomous part of Portugal today.

In many places this religious influence can still be seen, however, in most of their

Portuguese goods, and gave access to spices (like pepper and ginger), gold, timber,

Spanish Inquisition
As you mature in life, you are likely to find that you may dislike a certain group of
people more than others. Most of the time, this is an innocent distrust or dislike,
however it can lead to worsening conditions between you and this group or
individual. Over the ages, a group that has been put into the role of the hated group
in such a petty disagreement repeatedly are the Jews. Since the rise of Catholicism,
Jews have, at more points in history than just one, been hunted and slaughtered. In
this paper, we will take a closer look into a time when Jews were killed by the
thousands, known simply as the Spanish Inquisition.
Many centuries ago, Spain was split into 6 major parts; the kingdoms of Castile,
Aragon, Granada, Navarre, Portugal, and Majorca, with Castile being this largest.

At the time, the Pope of the Catholic church was Pope Sixtus IV, and he knew that
Spain was be the crown jewel of Catholic expansion, if he could remove the Jews.
The Jewish population at the time was still dominating the country, and for a while,
the Jews were already being prosecuted by the Catholics for not converting. This
was a very slow process however, especially as it was still illegal in the Spanish
empire. Pope Sixtus understood this, and he also understood that Ferdinand and
Isabella had huge ties to the church and would listen to anything the Pope had to say.
Using this to his advantage, he enacted a bull papal, or official document, saying that
the King and Queen of Spain could name inquisitors to hunt down any Jews who had
not converted, and have them killed in the name of
The Declaration Of Independence
The Declaration of Independence is one of the most well known documents in history.
The Hollywood movie, National Treasure, helped reintroduce it to a whole new

This was not the first time that South Carolina and other states threatened secession.
Already in 1788, with the ink on the Constitution barely dry, several states objected to
the Alien and Sedition Acts. These laws were designed to restrict the rights of
immigrants and punish those who criticized the government. Thomas Jefferson and
James Madison each wrote resolutions, known as the Kentucky and Virginia
Resolutions respectively, condemning the Acts. Jefferson s resolution was more
strongly worded, claiming that states could nullify any federal action that was not
found in the Constitution. While many southerners considered these resolutions to be
on equal footing with actual laws, most of the states rejected them. The New
Hampshire legislature responded by saying that the job of determining
constitutionality resided with the Supreme Court, not the state legislatures.
This idea of nullification, in which a state could declare an act of Congress
unconstitutional, did not go away. In 1832, trouble arose surrounding the passage of
a national tariff. South Carolina, led by John C. Calhoun, passed the Ordinance of
Nullification. They claimed that the tariffs of 1828 and 1832 were unconstitutional
and threatened to form a new independent government if the Federal government
tried to force the implementation of the tariff. In response, President Jackson asked

Electronic Medical Records In Healthcare
Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) are used throughout the hospital where I
work. An EMR has led to many improvements in having access to medical records,
in a timely manner. When a patient registers in the Emergency Department, I can
see how many visits they have had. I can see all records, including past medical
problems, allergies, test results, and a list of current medications they have filled at
a Pharmacy. This is very useful when the patient omits information. It only takes a
few steps to input protocols. An EMR decreases the risk of losing information or
having to wait on records from the Medical Records Department. Additionally, the
EMR allows Physicians to easily compare lab values from different visits and track a

About a month ago, I found myself researching the history of the Mammy

Butler. Twenty minutes into my research I somehow ended all the way up onto the
Wikipedia page on the 1915 film, Birth of a Nation, which romanticized the Klu

that the 1915 version was the very first film shown in the white house. After

The Cultural Background Of Greek Myths
As Christopher Vogler quoted in The Writer s Journey, A myth... is a metaphor for a
mystery beyond human comprehension. It is a comparison that helps us understand,
by analogy, some aspect of our mysterious selves. Various countries have myths that
connect to their personal background culture. When it is compared, each myth has a
different perspective of how things were created in the daily life of a person. This
includes countries such as Greece and Egypt and how their backgrounds influences
their cultures. Cultural backgrounds play an important role in society. One moral
lesson that is learned in Greek myths is about mother and daughter relationships.
Egyptians also included Ma at in their myths as a symbol of harmony and peace....

they were asked by their owners. (Lin and Don Donn, Greek Mythology for kids ).
Many Greek men spent their time observing and studying the planets and how

Culture shock stereotypes I feel that coming to Japan helped break a lot of
assumptions about Japanese culture and also confirm knowledge I knew only from
textbooks. The trip also made me experience some culture shock but if anything it
made the trip more interesting. I appreciated the irony that was ever present. There
were many customs both old and new I appreciated on the trip and helped open my
eyes to new experiences, observations, and interactions with people I normally would
never have a chance to meet. The Japanese peopletruly took elements of western
culture and made it their own.
One of my most memorable experiences was on the second night of Japan when we
went to a baseball game and the customs there are crazy Both teams were really
into the game even when losing they d chant wave their flags and dance or clap
their hands. They blew up balloons we thought until they burst but it was actually
to let them go to make noise to cheer their team on. They dance and click sticks
together in time to rally their teams fighting spirit. It was Tiger s vs Marines and
the Tigers were The better team both cheering and playing wise. However, I like
rooting for the marine because they were the underdogs. It was a great experience
that helped me bond with other people in the group and also let meet to know the
Japanese people better than observing them in the daytime where they were quieter
and hurrying off to places and were generally reserved. They made sports games their
Thomas Jefferson Paragraph
Rough Draft
He did not fight with a gun or a sword. He fought with words. (Meet Thomas
Jefferson, page one chapter one). Thomas Jefferson was a terrible speaker, he did
better writing. Thomas Jefferson was one of the best writers in the time. He was the
third U.S. president of our country. He is famous for writing the Declaration of
Independence, it took him seventeen days to write. Personally Jefferson was an
architect who designed his own house and Virginia State College. He also was a
statesman, a collector of prehistoric bones, and had the largest book collection of
books in America. Thomas Jefferson held himself up to high standards, and he wrote
about them in the Declaration of Independence, which made him a strong, honest,
and loyal man.
Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743, in Shadwell plantation. Shadwell
plantation is near Charlottesville, Virginia, which is on the western edge of the
Great Britain American Empire. Jefferson s dad is Peter Jefferson, he lived from
1708 to 1757, he was a successful planter, and farmer, his dad also made the first
correct map of Province, Virginia. Jefferson s mother was Jane Randolph Jefferson,
was an English Scottish descent. Thomas Jefferson was born into an important
family of Virginia planter group. He was the third oldest son of ten kids in his
family he has six sisters, and one surviving brother. Him and his brothers, and sisters
played in the woods read, and practiced violin together.
Jefferson was properly educated at the age of nine. He excelled in classical
languages like Latin, and Greek in 1757, also excelled in literature, and math, when
he was fourteen years old. In 1760 Jefferson went to the college of William and
Mary. Near the Williamsburg, Virginia s capital. The College of William and Mary
is the second oldest college in the United States. Jefferson got a true college
education.
After college Thomas Jefferson wanted to learn American law, so he practiced law
from 1760 to 1764. He was a great lawyer, because he won almost every cases he had.
Thomas Jefferson took a five year course that was exhausting for him, but for him the
work payed off because he passed the Bar. He passed the Bar in the year of 1767
Kill Parasites Than Chloroquine As A Weekly Prophylaxis
2.2.2.2 Amodiaquine
Amodiaquine (Figure 2.3b) is another example of 4 aminoquinoline. It is similar
with chloroquine, but it can more effectively kill parasites than chloroquine, as well
as a weekly prophylaxis. Because of the similar structure, amodiaquine is supposed to
have the same antimalarial mechanism. Hayeshi et al. [20.45] and Fley and
Tilley[20.46] proved that amodiaquine can accumulate in digestive vacuole and bind
to heme. Besides, an incomplete cross resistance has been found between
amodiaquine and chloroquine, this may be due to the mutation of PfCRT and
PfMDR1.
2.2.3 8 Aminoquinoline
2.2.3.1 Pamaquine
Pamaquine (Figure 2.5b) is an 8 aminoquinoline, synthesized based on the structure
of methylene blue (Figure 2.5a). It is the first antimalarial drug that has activity
against liver stage parasites, and can prevent the relapse of P. vivax malaria. Although
pamaquine can delay the first attachment of malaria, it is an incomplete protection.
So at that time, pamaquine was usually combined with quinine to treat malaria.
However, pamaquine was reported with severe toxicological concerns, relating with
glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, and it is not as efficient as
primaquine. Because of these problems, pamaquine is no longer used.
2.2.3.2 Primaquine
In 1940s, primaquine (figure 2.5c) was first synthesized by Elderfield[wiki.2].
Although it still has side effects for G6PD deficient patients just like pamaquine, it
can more efficiently treat P.
Ketchup E Mayonnaise
For me to learn a language properly I have to have an understanding of the
mechanics of the language. Here is an example of what I mean. If I say, On what
aisle will I find the condiments like ketchup and mayonnaise, in Spanish, I may
say, Donde encontro condiments egual a ketchup e mayonnaise? The person I am
talking to may understand me enough to help me, but if I had said, Por lo pasillo
puedo encontrar condimentos como salsa de tomate y mayonesa? It would sound
like I know what I m saying, and it would be easier to understand me. This is why
for me to learn English I have to know the mechanics, or rules of grammar so I can
speak properly. I will start with defining a sentence. A sentence expresses a complete
thought. For example... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I can t find the ketchup and mayonnaise. Where can I find them? The is an article.
The is used when a noun or pronoun is specific, special, or more than one, and it is
placed before the noun or pronoun. In this sentence the article the is placed before the
noun, condiments. So you know the person is looking specifically for condiments,
and there is an expressed interest in more than one condiment. Condiments is a noun.
It means things which are used to flavor food, like ketchup and mayonnaise. The last
word we have to look at is the word, like. Like in this sentence is used as a
preposition. It means, similar, or almost the same. Like in this sentence tells you the
person may not be looking for ketchup or mayonnaise, but for condiments in general,
and used ketchup and mayonnaise as an example to explain what is meant by the
word condiments. I didn t explain pronouns, in this little essay. I and them are
pronouns. So I will write briefly about them here. Them is the pronoun which I use
in place of the noun, words and the pronoun. I is the pronoun used in this essay in
place of my name. Oh, and always put a capital letter to start the first word in a
sentence, like this sentence started with a capital O , then end the sentence with a
punctuation mark like a period (.) or a question mark (?) or an exclamation mark
Extinction of Dinosaurs due to Asteroid Impact Essay
Extinction of Dinosaurs due to Asteroid Impact
Nobody knows for sure exactly how the dinosaurs became extinct. However scientists
have speculated for decades about possible events that caused the dinosaurs to die
out. Possibilities range from asteroids, to volcanoes, to climate changes. One of the
more popular or well known extinction theories involves the belief that an asteroid
struck the Earth, causing devastating effects, and triggering mass extinctions around
the end of the Cretaceous period.
The asteroid impact extinction theory began in 1980 with Luis and Walter Alvarez, a
father and son team. They theorized that an asteroid struck the Earth at the close of
the Cretaceous period, causing devastating effects and mass ... Show more content on

Gerta Keller, professor of geosciences at Princeton University, has recently conducted
research on the Chicxulub asteroid in which she analyzed new core samples taken
from the asteroid site (Botzer 2004). These samples indicate that the impact that
occurred at Chicxulub actually predated the mass extinction of the dinosaurs, which
occurred at the Cretaceous Tertiary boundary about sixty five million years ago.
Keller claims that the Chicxulub impact occurred approximately 300,000 years
before the extinction (Keller 2004). Although previous researchers estimated that the
Chicxulub asteroid was the cause of the extinctions, there had always been doubts
about the exact age and size of the crater, and about the origin of the mega tsunami
deposits that were located within the crater (Keller 2004). The focus of Keller s
recent research was on finding some answers to these questions. To do so she
analyzed Cretaceous limestone, dolomite, and anhydrite deposits as the site of the
Chicxulub crater (Keller 2004).
The fossil deposits at the Chicxulub site suggest that the mineral layer in the crater
was deposited after the impact, but before the extinction of the dinosaurs and other
species. Keller proposes two possible explanations for this. The first explanation is
that the sediments were deposited as the backwash of a giant tsunami that occurred
after the impact (Keller 2004).
Geographic Luck Essay
Geographic Luck Why is it that Europeans ended up conquering so much of the
world? According to UCLA biologist Jared Diamond, some countries grew faster
than others because of geographic luck. It sounds like a simple theory, but there is a
lot more to it. The lucky countries, like Spain, were lucky enough to have natural
resources, indigenous plants, and animals that could be domesticated. With all of this
at their fingertips, they were able to stop hunting and gathering and start farming.
Farming didn t require as much people as hunting and gathering; so people who
were not out farming started developing new technologies. These people, also known
as specialists, created the path for guns and steel to be created. These two weapons...

This was the birth of civilization. With better places to live and extra food available,
people with extra time on their hands stared experimenting with metal. They
gathered up some food, cut up some wool from there domesticated animals, and
traveled around Europe to sell people their produce. These farmers provide the
food for the specialists that created so many great technologies. One of the most
important was steel. Steel is almost all European. It was made possible by early
specialists that experimented with fire and minerals. These experiments, ironically,
were conducted in the Fertile Crescent. Since the Fertile Crescent had a pretty dry
climate, fire pits could be lit long enough to transform limestone into plaster. Then
this strategy was applied to copper, iron, and eventually steel. It didn t just require
the right conditions though; these specialists needed the right materials. Once
again, Europe struck lucky and had all the right materials for the job. When
Europeans started mastering the art of making steel, they created armor and
swords. The Americas didn t have a powerful technology like steel, but they did
have things of more value like copper and gold. These valuable resources were the
Spanish Conquistador s main motivation to conquer the Americas. Since gold was so
common to the land of the Incas, it was of no value to the Inca Empire. Since these
Indians were only protected by lower quality armor and weapons, the Inca Empire,

Crucifixion By Giotto Di Bondone Essay
There are many different aspects to the mystery of god and many people believe in
different things. Our understanding of the ideal representation of the wonder and awe
in the mystery of god is the trinity where there are three aspects. Through the artwork
of Crucifixion by Giotto di Bondone portrays God, is divine and Trinitarian. The
mystery of God is reflected in the picture of Crucifixion painted by Giotto Di
Bondone as the image explains the core Catholic Christian belief in the mystery of
trinityof one God, three elements namely the creator, Jesusthe Son and the Holy Spirit.
Giotto di Bondone was an Italian painter and architect from Florence in the late
middle ages. He generally considered in the first line of great artists who contributed
to the renaissance, which is the style of the painting (Artable, n.d). He drew his
figures and their postures according to his interpretation to the nature of God. In this
artwork it speaks the trinity, three elements; with the creator being the sky, angels
representing the Holy Spirit and the human Jesus as the son on the cross. In the picture

receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of
God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man,
but of God. This scripture shows how people are to live in relation to god. We are
meant to believe and follow his teachings left by Jesus the son, the Holy Spirit all
shown throughout the bible. This links to my artwork as it portrays people
following god through Jesus teachings, which is what the scripture, says which links

this is portrayed through my image as it shows Jesus courage to sacrifice himself for
our sins. Scriptures further prove
Authentication System for Identifying Internet Users
OpenID is a decentralized, single sign on authentication system for internet sites that
require authentication for use. It was developed out of the need to create a different,
easier and more secure, type of authentication system than using a password. OpenID
was developed using the open source software model to be an interoperable protocol
independent from any single organization OpenIDallows users to log into websites
with one single ID, instead of the user having to create and manage multiple
accounts. To use OpenID, a user must first register with a website that supports
OpenID. When viewing other sites that use OpenID, the user logs in with a
redirect to a secure URL. With OpenID, the user s email address will be available
to websites requesting authentication, however it s not the identifier. OpenID uses
URLs as an identity; users will leave a site and return after authenticating with a
third party website. The user would connect to an OpenID enabled website, enter
credential information, and then a POST is made with a BASE64 which is a
website to provider request. The website would then redirect the user to the providers
for login. The user s passwordwould be entered in automatically by OpenID and
submitted; once verification is done the user is logged in to the site. Currently there
are over one billion OpenID user accounts and over 50,000 websites that use OpenID.
As illustrated below, OpenID has three basic features: a user with a Web browser, a

God Vs Christianity Essay
The relationship between God and humanity brings with it also the seeds of religion
as the expression of our connection with God, and therefore of religion as a historical
phenomenon. In discussing the fundamental nature of our relationship with God,
Schelling approaches the narrative of Genesis in a way analogous to that he uses for
the monotheistic dogma. Therefore, Schelling reads the history of the original couple
as carrying in itself an account of the ideal or negative image of our relationship with
God. In this respect, the Fall as narrated by the book of Genesis is a catastrophic
event preceding history, that Schelling argues to be visible a posteriori in the fact
that nature fails to display the unity it should have, as it is made unable to do so by
the Fall itself. Consequently, Schelling reads the end of the Edenic condition as the

absolute. In other words, in its ideal and eternal perfect contemplation of God
humanity fulfills perfectly its role of mediator as it produces an image of itself,
creation, and God as essentially in communion. In this, humanity also acts as it
were in the same way the third potency does. Just like the Spirit as + A is able to
bring together A and +A, so does humanity with God and creation: Human
consciousness is a mediator, a third between both of them . However, argues
Schelling, although humanity s essence is the same as God s, namely pure freedom,
humanity is nonetheless only a finite replica of God. Hence, humanity can go astray
in its employment of this freedom, thus provoking its own fall from grace and in so
doing casting creation outside of communion with
The Development Of Dynamic Characterization In Anthem
By...
Evolution is a development of something that gradually changes them from one
simple item into a more developed, complex form. Everything in life changes;
change is constant and inevitable. One, who evolves, chooses to do it for better or
for worse. In literature, a character s evolution is seen through a term called dynamic
characterization. Dynamic Characterization is clearly visible in the novel Anthem by
Ayn Rand. In this dystopian fiction book, mankind has entered a period of darkness
regarding the government and society; a society where your job, mating partner,
and mindset has been chosen for you, and a government where individuality is
forbidden. Living amongst this dark period in time is Equality 7 2521. In Anthem,
Equality is a dynamic character through his important character traits. More
specifically, Equality finds starting a movement, using we to I , and finally finds
individuality which creates his round character traits. One of the most riveting
moments in this novel, was discovery made by Equality. This society takes place in
an unknown date far in the future, where an individual was raised to call
themselves we in honor of their brothers in society. Any first person pronoun was
unknown to this society because it was seen as selfish to have an ego. Equality
however, was different from the rest of his brothers. He was the pariah in a crowd,
both literally and mentally. As a six feet tall individual that was much stronger than
the rest, Equality loved
Loisel s The Necklace
It seems a desire in human nature to want more and more things for the sake of
having them and for treasuring them. No matter the amount or cost some people have
the tendency to obtain as much as they can get, because they can never have enough
stuff. The character of Madame Mithilde Loisel from the short story, The Necklace,
without a doubt has this trait. Monsieur and Madame (M. and Mme.) Loisel are a
couple living in Paris. Mme. Loisel, although beautiful, is very unhappy with the
life she has been given. One day, M. Loisel receives an invite to a nighttime ball,
but Mme. Loisel refuses to go unless she has something marvelous to showcase
herself with. Her husband manages to obtain a dress for her, and she manages to get
a necklace from an old friend, Mme. Forestier. Once M. and Mme. Loisel return from
their amazing night at the ball, Mithilde realizes that she has... Show more content on

Loisel is something that ultimately shapes the events that occur in the story.
Although she is in the middle to low class part of society, she believes that she has
the right to everything for her to be perfect. [Mithilde] believes that superficial
things a large house, a ball gown, and better furniture will truly make her happy (
The Necklace ). It is said that she is stunning and absolutely beautiful, but she [felt]
that she had been born for all of the little necessities and luxuries for living
(Maupassant, 70). The blindness of her beauty and her dreams of riches lead to
the conflict within the story. When invited to attend a ball with her husband, Mme.
Loisel refuses because she does not have the proper attire. Her invitation to the
party reminded her of her lack of jewels and ball gems. ( The Necklace ). Her
husband is unable to maintain a dress which is good enough by itself, but Mithilde
argues that it has to be as perfect as it can be and it could not be completed without
some sort of accessory, and that accessory will lead to her

It s Time to Stop the Censorship Music with Explicit Lyrics
Music with explicit lyrics or content started having black and white parental
advisories on them in 1994 (http://www.riaa.org/Parents Advisory 4.cfm). Are these
labels necessary? Is controversial music molding our society and causing teenagers to
turn to drugs? Is censorship necessary to protect the youth of our nation. Generally,
younger people are against censorship on this issue. Music is an outlet and even an
anti drug for many teens; however, parents and society feel differently. Should parents
censor their children or society, many parents would like to raise their own children.
Censorship, like charity should begin at home; but unlike charity, it should end there,

It s not the labels kids look for, it s the music. Independent research shows kids put
limited weight on lyrics in deciding which music they like, caring more about rhythm
and melody. The warning label alone isn t enough incentive. (http://www.riaa.org
/Parents Advisory 4.cfm).
Censorship, like charity should begin at home; but unlike charity, it should end there,
is a quote by Clare Boothe Luce (Fitzhenry, 84). Some parents are against the
censorship of music. They believe that they should raise their kids, not some
politicians who believe one nasty word will change a whole child s future.
Many music artists have had other people attempt or succeed to sue them for their
explicit lyrics and sexual content. 2 Live Crew was one of these music groups. In
June of 1990, a Broward County judge in Florida declared that their album, As
Nasty as They Want to Be, was legally obscene. (http://www.xyno.de/) 2 Live Crew
s record was the first one in America to be deemed legally obscene although a
Georgia appeal court later overturned this decision in May of 1992 (http:/
/music.lycos.com/artist/bio.asp?QW=2+Live+Crew AN=The+2+Live+Crew
MID=66486 MH=). Some people believe that a label should be placed on albums by
artists who have explicit content in their recordings.
Others believe that the music should not be on the market for the public to access at
all. Many believe that censorship should not be allowed at all because it
The Birds In Louise Erdrich s The Plague Of Doves
The Darkness of Doves In Louise Erdrich s The Plague of Doves, doves or birds
are used throughout the novel to represent dark times for the characters and the
overall town of Pluto, North Dakota. By reading the birds as a symbol, the title
makes perfect sense. The beginning of the novel starts off with a description of
how the doves wreaked havoc on the city of Pluto. The birds ate their crops, houses
were crushed by the weight of the birds, and one could wring the necks of
hundreds or thousands and effect no visible diminishment of their number (5). In
this sense, as the title implies, the doves do appear to be like a plague, starving the
citizens and destroying their homes without any relent. They had taken over the
town. The church was covered with birds (7) and the birds were packed so tightly
on the ground that there was a sudden agitation among the women (8). This is
incredibly similar to the swarm of locusts in the Bible that destroy crops and infest
houses. The locusts completely coated everything. In both cases, they serve as a
warning that there are worse things to come since the murders and lynchings happen
after the doves are seen in The Plague of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were portrayed as being this way when Evelina is in the mental hospital as a
patient. There, the birds seem to hover in this room and she can hear the flutter of
their wings (244). While these lines do not create a dark image, it is as if there is
something lingering in the room with her. What makes it seem like a bad things is
the way she describes the sky darkening with birds that covered it so that you could
not see from one end to another and how it prompted her to try to pray away the
doves (244). In this scene, the doves making the sky darken seemed to represent
Evelina s depression and the way it lingered in the room with her or kept her up at
night. Essentially, the dove was plaguing her while she was

UAE stands for United Arab Emirates, and is made up of 7 different emirates; Abu Dhabi, Dubia, Sharjah, Ajmen, Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah, and Umm al Qaiwan. The largest of these 7 emirates is Abu Dhabi. Most of the UAE is desert, but also has dunes and coastal plains. (The Official Portal of UAE Government, p. 1). Clothing is very important in the Middle East for both women and men. Revealing clothing is not allowed. You should cover your toes, arms, shoulders, and legs. For men, a suit and tie is most appropriate. Stated by Bolduc (2014), Dark colors are viewed as more professional (p. 1). Women are to wear a suit or skirt that falls below the knee. Bolduc (2014) said It s not necessary for non Muslim women to wear the hijab, or headscarf, unless you plan to visit a religious site during your trip (p. 1). Work attire is always formal, except on Thursdays. When greeting professionals, always greet the most important senior person first, this shows a sign of respect. Exchanging of business cards is always done with the right hand. Business meetings are commonly delayed so keep a flexible appointment schedule (Meetings, p.1). It s considered rude to point at someone directly. Phone calls and text messages are often taken during meetings. Don t be surprised if people are walking in and out of a meeting. • 3. The Potential of Transgenic Organism A Transgenic Organism is an organism that s genetic material has been transformed using a technique called genetic engineering. This modification contains the mutation, insertion, or deletion of genes. When there is an insertion of genes, they are most commonly from a different species, this is known as horizontal genetransfer. Another way genes can be transferred is in nature, when exogenous DNA(DNA originating outside an organism that has been introduced into the organism) gets through the organisms cell membrane. When biologists do this artificially, they can either attach the gene to a virus, insert the gene into the nucleus, or use an electric pulse. Transgenic organisms are important to science because they have uses in biological and medical research, production of pharmaceutical drugs, experimental medicine, and agriculture. In medical applications, in cases of xenotransplantation (an operation in which an organ or tissue is transferred from one animal to another of a different species), a transgenic pig could be able to give a donation of the heart to a human. Transgenic animals such as cows can produce more nutritious milk for human consumption which can help in diets or supplements. In agricultural applications, animals could improve quality that they give with meat and milk, gain disease resistance, and breeding for selective traits. Current research on GMO s has been done through loss of function, gain of function, tracking experiments, and expression
  • 4. The Fall of the Weimar Republic Essay The Weimar Republic would have continued to be a functional government far longer than achieved if not for the defeat of WWI, the economic burdens imposed by the Versailles Treaty, and the flawed Article 48 which all contributed to the down fall of Germany s first attempt at a legitimate Democracy. This paper will argue that the societal, economical, and constitutional aspects all played a role in the hopeless Democracy Germanyattempted which ultimately lead Germany into a totalitarian state that would further shake the world with the rise of the NSDAP and Adolf Hitler. First, the defeat of WWI was not just the beginning of the Weimar Republicbut could be considered a catalyst to its downfall as well. During the later stages of WWI ... However, Ludendorff s plan backfired when Wilson s Points insisted that Germany lay down all arms and dissolved its army to no more than 100,000 troops, as well as all parties responsible resign (Peukert, 1987; 46). If Wilson s constitutional reforms were to be implemented a democratic parliament could have been formed (Peukert, 1987; 24). Obviously Germany was reluctant, at first, to accept all of the responsibility of the war. To add to the attempt of keeping Germany a War state and its reluctant surrender, Keiser Wilhelm II ordered a last attempt by the German Naval Fleet to attack. This created a mutiny in Wilhelmshaven on October 28, 1918 and a sailor s resurrection in Kiel on November 3rd and 4th (Peukert, 1987; 27). The peaceful revolutionary movement has begun in Germany and the citizens began expressing they wanted a new government. During the revolution the Weimar Republic was forming and it seemed to be doing so with little compromise from polar parties. Somehow, the Weimar Constitution was written and the new government began to practice democracy. Most of Germany, by now, wants to be a viable part of the world and achieve a better standard of living, the newly formed Weimar Republic and fragile economy will be tested with the Versailles Treaty. Second, the reparations of the Versailles Treaty further stalled Germanys attempt at a Democracy by critically maiming its economy. Germany,
  • 5. The Beauty of Music The streets were pumping with beautiful energy; the night sky was lit with floating lanterns and there were gracefully dancing bodies everywhere. The siblings had to hold onto each other s hands so they did not lose one another, that is how busy the one street was. The sensational smell of chicken roasting in the hot halo of fire, mixed with the sweet syrupy sauce wafted through the air; practically making Constance s mouth water in a very un ladylike manner. Not that she cared. However, her surrender to temptation as interrupted as burly arms grabbed her from behind. Porthos laughed as Constance hugged him in marvellous nature. You came! D Artagnan exclaimed as the three; Porthos, D Artagnan and Athos figures emerged from the shadows. He kissed her hand in a gentlemanly manner, his soft kind eyes never fleeing hers. Athos bowed his head as a welcoming gesture, a man of mystery and frankly a man of little gestures. The three finally noticed the group of men that surrounded her, it did not take long to realise who they were. At last, we meet! D Artagnan shook each hand, easily gaining their approval and trust. Jehan suspiciously watched the close proximity between this man and his sister; this was not a simple friendship. The three looked at Constance expectantly, clearly wishing to know why she had more male friends than women. Theodore, Hugues and Jehan, these are my friends; D Artagnan, Porthos and Athos. The six shared pleasantries, but Constance could see that

The data used in this research analysis to predict the selling price of a house is shown in the Bryant/Smith Case 28 (See Appendix 1). The null hypothesis stated that there is not a relationship between the selling price of a house and its characteristics. The alternate hypothesis stated that there is a relationship between the selling price of a house and its characteristics. A 95% confidence level was chosen and a prediction interval which is a confidence interval estimate of a predicted value of the selling price used. Even houses on the same road and in identical condition can sell for different prices due to the negotiations that take place between buyer and seller on the price and the property valuations that vary from agent to agent. In a case study presented by Cain and Janssen, their approach was illustrated with an actual situation in the pricing of townhouses. According to Cain and Janssen A serviced parcel of land in a suburban location is proposed for a 16 unit townhouse development. The developer has acquired the land, prepared plans and drawings, secured zoning approval, applied for bank financing and commenced excavation. Construction is set to begin. A major decision is the setting of prices for the units. This is of critical importance to the success of the project. In particular, if the prices are perceived by the market as too high, sales will be slow, and profits eroded. If on the other hand prices are too low, profits may be foregone. Overpricing, however, is more serious than under pricing in the present instance . One key starting point for a House Price Index is a fixed housing stock. However, the quality of the housing stock is likely to rise as a result of newly built homes. This, in turn, causes the mean or median price to continue to rise even when individual properties are not appreciating (Bailey et al, 1963). For example, if a disproportionate number of high priced homes were sold in a given period, the mean or median price would
  • 7. Essay on King Oedipus King Oedipus by Sophocles Blindness is the downfall of the hero Oedipus in the play King Oedipus by Sophocles. Not only does the blindness appear physically, but also egotistically as he refuses to acknowledge the possibility of him actually being the murderer of Laius, the former King of Thebes. Coincidentally, he is also Oedipus s biological father. The use of light and dark in the play is strategically applied in order to better understand the emotion that lies within the characters. As blame is placed upon Oedipus for the murder of Laius, he blinds himself from the possible reality that he may be the killer. The people of Thebes are informed that there is an impending curse upon them as a result of the murder mystery of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The blindness of Oedipus leads to the darkness of Thebes also known as The City of Light. We cannot believe, we cannot deny; all s dark. We fear, but we cannot see, what is before us worry the townspeople. Dark, here, symbolizes the confusion that is placed upon the people of Thebes. They are in a chasm trying to decipher what is to be determined as true, the prophecy of Teiresias, or the good word of Oedipus. After several testimonies, Oedipus opens his eyes and accepts the blame. In order to deliver justice for his wrongs in killing his father and marrying his mother, Oedipus chooses to blind himself physically. The Attendant explains the people regarding the Oedipus s self inflicted injury. And thrust, from full arm s length, into his eyes eyes that should see no longer his shame, his guilt, no longer see those they should have never seen, nor see, unseeing, those he had longed to see, henceforth seeing nothing but night. The use of night is similar to that of the use of dark throughout the play. Night is in reference to lies. Everything that he, or his eye, has seen has all resulted in the discovery of a lie. From the parents he thinks he has, to the family that he has, the world he has created centers around a lie. Until the moment he discovers that he has really killed his father, ironically, Oedipus has never known
  • 8. The Road The Story Of A Man And His Son In Cormac McCarthy s The Road the story of a man and his son walking down a road in a post apocalyptic world is told. McCarthy s tale of the end of the world is set in a very realistic and dark setting while using depressing and miserable details about the world around the man and his son and the survivors that they come to encounter. Throughout the book, McCarthy writes about a fire that a manand his son are carrying, while they struggle with the notion that they are the good guys who are avoiding the bad guys in the world, all the while McCarthy leaves out somewhat important details like what caused the end of the world and what his two characters names are. McCarthy consistently writes about fire throughout the book, be it both literally and metaphorically. The literal need for fire is essential for the survival of the man and the boy, while the metaphorical fire is used as a symbol of wanting to survive this bleak, depressing world. To the boy and the man a real fire is needed to survive because McCarthy writes how it s the beginning of winter and The few blankets they had would not keep them warm (McCarthy102). Whereas the metaphorical fire is the motivation to survive, while the man is dying he tells his son You have to carry the fire...It s real... It s inside you I can see it (McCarthy279). Fire is used to symbolize survival in both the literal and figurative way. Without the fire the man and the boy wouldn t survive by either freezing to death or just

Both films were released around the same time period, with DO THE RIGHT THING being released in 1989, and BOYZ N THE HOOD in 1991. Both films are coming of age tales for Tre and Mookie, they both reside in a low income, predominantly black neighborhood. Both films share a common theme: the idea of hopelessness and survival as a young black male in the hood. Both men are a product of what can only be described as urban decay; they are trying to find their place in a society that doesn t care much for their well being or success. BOYZ N THE HOOD and DO THE RIGHT THING have a common... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both Lee and Singleton strive to give an authentic picture of how black youth interact with people of other races. For example, the Korean show owner from DO THE RIGHT THING saying: I no white. I black, you, me, same. We same! tells the black youth that other minorities in America have their own battles with civil injustice from white authority. Spike Lee and John Singleton write their films about inner city violence and black youth. Although they grew up in different parts of the United States (John Singleton in Los Angeles and Spike Lee in New York) they have something to say to society. They both strive to expose the realities faced by African Americans, especially those in inner city ghettos. With Spike Lee starring as Mookie and John Singleton embodying Tre, both directors showcase their perspective on American society via their characters. Overall, BOYZ N THE HOOD AND DO THE RIGHT THING showcase the dysfunction among inner city blacks during the 1990 s. Both films have something to say about Amercian society, and have a message (or warning) to other black men. Society views young black inner city men as a lost cause, their only hope for success is to strive for something better. To succeed these men must avoid the temptations of the hood, and get an education and motivate
  • 10. Symbolism In Salinger s The Catcher In The Rye Salinger dispels common binary meanings assigned by society to many concepts, displaying the spectrum of ways people can feel or react to any situation. As seen in The Catcher in the Rye, Holden often shifts between roles such as the catcher , one who guards the innocence of youth, and the caught , the embodiment of youthful purity that must be protected. Salinger uses shifts of clothing as a recurring motif to signify shifts of position and destinies (Takeuchi), emphasizing how one s role in life can be fluid, not static. Throughout his journey, Holden Caulfield, the main protagonist and narrator of Catcher in the Rye, exhibits this through clothing such as his red hunting hat. Holden claims this hat to be a people shooting hat (Catcher in the Rye), representing his role as the catcher who seeks to hunt down the purity of childhoodin other humans, not animals. Holden perceives Phoebe as perfect, constantly contrasting her the the phonies he meets. In doing so, Salinger denotes Phoebe as the ideal Holden seeks. Despite his hat denoting him as the catcher at first , Holden will at times adorn it, at others conceal it, or even transfer it to Phoebe, along with its connotative meanings. By doing this, Holden entirely diverts the traditional distinction, made by western society, between those who hunt, seek, or catch other animals, to the prey they chase, and instead shows how Holden seeks to preserve childhood innocence, yet, at times, needs the support of his sister when he is devastated. Holden s role as the catcher is constantly changing and cannot be confined to the single definition that Holden himself creates for the catcher in the rye as the person who only protects children from danger, but rather, must not be seen as an absolute. Holden himself realizes this at the climax of the books as he watches Phoebe ride the carousel and comments that if they fall off, they fall off, but it s bad if you say anything to them even though it contradicts his previous claim that he wants to stop children from failing in any way (Weesner) as the catcher in the Rye. Salinger also creates ambiguity between the roles of mature adults and innocent children through Holden, who is an adolescent that embodies

  • 13. Minimum Wage And Magical Thinking Opinion Minimum Wage and Magical Thinking Opinion In the reading of Minimum wage and magical thinking he discusses that raising the minimum wage would have a negative impact and would actually hurt those that it is supposed to help and I would agree. Raising the minimum wage would cause inflation to rise, thus basically canceling out what it was intended to do and making the US dollar worth less. Secondly, minimum wageincrease would cause the price of goods to rise and then less people will be buying so, then you are paying employees more and making less revenue. Lastly, this would hurt the very people that raising the minimum wage is intended to help because the number of jobs that are entry level or low skilled will drop and then people who were making a 7.25 minimum wage will now be earning a 0 dollar wage. Minimum wage does not need to increase, especially not as drastic as some people are calling for and the positive outcome that is thought it would produce actually would be doing more harm than good. If the minimum wage were to rise inflationin turn would rise too as Issac Newton s third law says for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The general idea is to pay people more money , but not to increase the cost of goods which in a perfect world that may work, but this is the real world and that isn t how it works. If for example, McDonalds starts paying their minimum wage employees 10.10 nationwide in turn what used to be a one dollar cheeseburger

The objectivity of the author over the pivotal question of Virtue/Vice also allows the readers to form their opinion independently and rationally. True to its pseudo epics structure, the author has broken the stories into small episodes and readers will be attracted to it once they start reading. Abstract: In this paper proposed the fuzzy logic controller as an alternative solution of conventional PID controller for speed control of separated excited DC motor. Because many industrial applications need constant speed of a DC motor operation, such as paper mills, steel rolling mill...etc. But the various loads were effected on speed of DC motor, fuzzy logic controller gives better results in governing the speed control of SEDC motor, the paper used MATLAB/Simulink to simulation DC motor with fuzzy logic controller. The controller used seven memberships. Lastly, it s found that the fuzzy logic controller provided better results for improving the dynamic behavior of SEDC motor. Keywords: DC Motor, PID Controller, Fuzzy logic controller, Chopper. 1.Introduction DC motor is transducer device that converts the electrical energy to mechanical energy. Many industrial applications were used such as robotic manipulators, electrical vehicles, steel rolling mills, and electrical cranes, due to simpler, less precise, higher start torque characteristic and higher response

Although we think of insurance as being about payments to cover financial losses, historically, insurance has its roots in practices such as storing excess grain in order to protect against famine or agreements between neighbors to help rebuild a barn or house if one burned down. These practices and agreements helped protect both individuals and society as a whole from catastrophic losses that would prevent people from getting back up to speed and becoming productive again. The History Of Insurance In America notes that one of the biggest changes in insurance occurred when the creation of the Internet enabled people to seek out online insurance quotes. Those prediction posit that better public transportation from one city to another will go hand in hand with these developments and that driverless cars will be a more local phenomenon, taking you wherever you want to go within a particular city but not from one city to another. The reality is that Europe currently has better public transportation than the U.S. This is in part because Europe is simply more densely populated, so public transportation makes more sense logistically. However, Americans have a strong tendency currently to live in one city and work in another or live in an unincorporated suburb and commute elsewhere. They also have a tendency to take their car for long distance trips, whether business or vacations. Cars are currently not used as just local transportation, so it might be a bit of stretch to predict that people will give them up entirely and readily adapt to a very different transportation paradigm and all that goes with

He is considered the Prince of Darkness and is supposed to be the embodiment of evil. However, our perception of the Devil has changed drastically over the centuries. Satan can mean something very different depending on the person. Some see the Devil as their godor a hero and others seem him as a symbol of all that is wicked. Some may view the Devil as nothing, but a joke and others believe he is as real as the rest of us. The concept of the Devil continues to evolve. The first mention of the Devil or Satan rather dates back to the first chapters of the Hebrew Biblein the Middle East. This book is called the Old Testament. However, the character named Satan in the Old Testament is not the Satan of today. There is no opposing evil force in the Old Testament and there was no Hell. In the Old Testament Satan is an angel and God s servant. He exists to do God s bidding and has no real power of his own. He is the opposite of the character we come to know in the following centuries. The concept of modern day evil Satan seems to stem from Zoroastrianism. Zoroaster simplified things with his belief in one good god and one bad god. This created separation between good and evil. Zoroastrianism has influenced the Jewish scriptures and this begins the creation of a different Satan from the one in the Old Testament. The concept of the Devil was also influenced by the Greek Gods. One Greek God in

The President is both the chief executive and the head of state. The President is elected independently of the legislature. The powers invested in the President are usually balanced against those vested in the legislature. In the American presidential system, the legislature must debate and pass various bills. The President has the power to veto the bill, preventing its adoption. However, the legislature may override the President s veto if they can muster enough votes. The American President s broadest powers rest in foreign affairs. The President has the right to deploy the military in most situations, but does not have the right to officially declare war. More recently the American President requested the right to approve treaties without the consent of the legislature. The American Congress denied this bill and was able to override the President s veto [1]. A presidential system is a system of government where an executive branch exists and presides (hence the name) separately from the legislature, to which it is not accountable and which cannot, in normal circumstances, dismiss it. It owes its origins to the medieval monarchies of France, England and Scotland where executive authority was vested in the Crown, not in meetings of the estates of the realm (i.e., parliament): the Estates General of France, the Parliament of

As the instrumentation reveals the genre of the music being performed, the stage for the show was set up in a way that highlighted the artists performing solos during the improvisational pieces. For example, the use of lights played a large role in visually isolating the soloists. The lights used during the show only illuminated the performers that were located upstage, while there were no lights used to illuminate downstage. During this stage, a healthy sucker is chosen when it is about four months of age. The healthy and young sucker is selected because they have higher rate differentiation, which helps them to grow rapidly. Then, the outer tissue and the root of the sucker is pared away until the size of meristem tissue is suitable to the size of petri dish, which is about 1.0 to 2.0 cm diameter (Singh et al., 2011). Next, the tissue is sterilized with bleach and it is rinsed with distilled water for three times. The second step is sterilizing of the instruments, medium and environments.

Already in 1788, with the ink on the Constitution barely dry, several states objected to the Alien and Sedition Acts. These laws were designed to restrict the rights of immigrants and punish those who criticized the government. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison each wrote resolutions, known as the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions respectively, condemning the Acts. Jefferson s resolution was more strongly worded, claiming that states could nullify any federal action that was not found in the Constitution. While many southerners considered these resolutions to be on equal footing with actual laws, most of the states rejected them. The New Hampshire legislature responded by saying that the job of determining constitutionality resided with the Supreme Court, not the state legislatures. Twenty minutes into my research I somehow ended all the way up onto the Wikipedia page on the 1915 film, Birth of a Nation, which romanticized the Klu Klux Klan. I then discovered why Nate Parker chose the title for his own film and that the 1915 version was the very first film shown in the white house. After twenty minutes I suddenly remembered the focus of my paper and went back on topic. I remember saying to myself I could spend my life doing this . In the recent years, with the start and spread of the Black Lives Matter movement, my love for researching, basically anything, has shifted it s focus. It is similar with chloroquine, but it can more effectively kill parasites than chloroquine, as well as a weekly prophylaxis. Because of the similar structure, amodiaquine is supposed to have the same antimalarial mechanism. Hayeshi et al. However scientists have speculated for decades about possible events that caused the dinosaurs to die out. Possibilities range from asteroids, to volcanoes, to climate changes. Gerta Keller, professor of geosciences at Princeton University, has recently conducted research on the Chicxulub asteroid in which she analyzed new core samples taken from the asteroid site (Botzer 2004). These samples indicate that the impact that occurred at Chicxulub actually predated the mass extinction of the dinosaurs, which occurred at the Cretaceous Tertiary boundary about sixty five million years ago. Keller claims that the Chicxulub impact occurred approximately 300,000 years before the extinction (Keller 2004). Although previous researchers estimated that the Chicxulub asteroid was the cause of the extinctions, there had always been doubts about the exact age and size of the crater, and about the origin of the mega tsunami deposits that were located within the crater (Keller 2004). The focus of Keller s recent research was on finding some answers to these questions. To do so she analyzed Cretaceous limestone, dolomite, and anhydrite deposits as the site of the Chicxulub crater (Keller 2004). The fossil deposits at the Chicxulub site suggest that the mineral layer in the crater was deposited after the impact, but before the extinction of the dinosaurs and other species. Keller proposes two possible explanations for this. The first explanation is that the sediments were deposited as the backwash of a giant tsunami that occurred after the impact (Keller 2004).

These farmers provide the food for the specialists that created so many great technologies. One of the most important was steel. Steel is almost all European. It was made possible by early specialists that experimented with fire and minerals. These experiments, ironically, were conducted in the Fertile Crescent. Since the Fertile Crescent had a pretty dry climate, fire pits could be lit long enough to transform limestone into plaster. Then this strategy was applied to copper, iron, and eventually steel. It didn t just require the right conditions though; these specialists needed the right materials. Once again, Europe struck lucky and had all the right materials for the job. When Europeans started mastering the art of making steel, they created armor and swords. The Americas didn t have a powerful technology like steel, but they did have things of more value like copper and gold. These valuable resources were the Spanish Conquistador s main motivation to conquer the Americas. Since gold was so common to the land of the Incas, it was of no value to the Inca Empire. Since these Indians were only protected by lower quality armor and weapons, the Inca Empire, along with their

OpenID was developed using the open source software model to be an interoperable protocol independent from any single organization OpenIDallows users to log into websites with one single ID, instead of the user having to create and manage multiple accounts. To use OpenID, a user must first register with a website that supports OpenID. When viewing other sites that use OpenID, the user logs in with a redirect to a secure URL. With OpenID, the user s email address will be available to websites requesting authentication, however it s not the identifier. God Vs Christianity Essay The relationship between God and humanity brings with it also the seeds of religion as the expression of our connection with God, and therefore of religion as a historical phenomenon. In discussing the fundamental nature of our relationship with God, Schelling approaches the narrative of Genesis in a way analogous to that he uses for the monotheistic dogma. Therefore, Schelling reads the history of the original couple as carrying in itself an account of the ideal or negative image of our relationship with God. In this respect, the Fall as narrated by the book of Genesis is a catastrophic event preceding history, that Schelling argues to be visible a posteriori in the fact that nature fails to display the unity it should have, as it is made unable to do so by the Fall itself. Hence, humanity can go astray in its employment of this freedom, thus provoking its own fall from grace and in so doing casting creation outside of communion with

The Birds In Louise Erdrich s The Plague Of Doves The Darkness of Doves In Louise Erdrich s The Plague of Doves, doves or birds are used throughout the novel to represent dark times for the characters and the overall town of Pluto, North Dakota. By reading the birds as a symbol, the title makes perfect sense. The beginning of the novel starts off with a description of how the doves wreaked havoc on the city of Pluto. The birds ate their crops, houses were crushed by the weight of the birds, and one could wring the necks of hundreds or thousands and effect no visible diminishment of their number (5).
