The Book of Baruch is apocryphal to the Hebrew and Protestant canons but was incorporated in the Septuagint and was included in the Old Testament for Roman Catholics. The work is a compilation of several authors and is the only work among the apocrypha that was consciously modeled after the prophetic writings of the Old Testament.

o definiție notabilă a urii.
10 Căci orice a spus tatălui nostru, el l-
a crezut.
toate lucrurile spre moartea oamenilor;
război și violență și toată lăcomia;
Iosif.
32 Căci adevărata pocăință după un fel
evlavios distruge neștiința și alungă
întunericul și luminează ochii și dă
cunoștință sufletului și duce mintea la
mântuire.
33 Și lucrurile pe care nu le-a învățat
de la om, le cunoaște prin pocăință.
34 Căci Dumnezeu a adus asupra mea
ieșit, duhul urii mi-a întunecat mintea
pocăiască, ca să nu-ți facă din nou rău;
mei.
20 Și el și-a ridicat picioarele și a
adormit în pace.
21 După cinci ani, l-au dus la Hebron
și l-au culcat cu părinții săi.
