Environmental concerns are increasingly relevant to everyone, and an informed public is a critical ingredient in the necessary practical steps and policy changes needed to alleviate the developing crisis. Environmental issues have become more entwined as communication technologies proliferate. The aim of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of the media dynamics with reference to the environmental issues alarmingly challenging to human continued survival. The scientists are disturbed for its insecurity, mis-governance, degradation, management and conservation which have gradually come to capture the centre stage. At this juncture, the role of media becomes pertinent in spreading environmental awareness and making the public aware of the formidable crisis looming large over our heads. Although environmental problems are typically discovered by scientists but it is media that often play a central role in disseminating information, influencing peoples attitude and promoting public awareness. Media are the cornerstone of any public opinion and acts as a catalyst for change.The ultimate objective of this paper is to find the most decisive factors in creating awareness since this is the first step in developing effective campaigns to promote and protect the integrity of the natural environment for prosperity amongst the population. This paper is an attempt to review the meaning of environment education, its aims and objectives, and ways of promoting environmental awareness in the society.A major challenge to environmental reporting is how to convey complex concepts and impart a sense of the urgency of these challenges in a way that engages the reader .The paper also explores the evolving field of environmental journalism which prefers objectivity over advocacy (Sachsman, 2006:112) with utmost professionalism and scientific information. Environment Communication to Address Climate Change

My Energy use for the entire day
When I wake up in the morning, the following are ways through which I use energy until such a time when I retire to bed:
· Lighting the room that consumes about 8% of the energy.
· Cooking using an electric oven that consumes 14% of the energy and other time use gas cookers.
· The refrigerator that remains on throughout consumes about 18% of the energy.
· Cooling and heating of the water using dispensers and also microwave that consumes about 10% of the energy.
· Dishwashing that uses about 6% of the energy.
· Washing and drying of the clothes that uses 18% of energy.
· Fueling of the car using petrol to go out for the shopping and other activities of interest to me that uses 20% of energy.
· Use of the laptop to do research and other assignments that uses 2% of energy.
· TV and DVDs use 4% of the energy.
Considering different ways that I do use energy, some of them pose a potential adverse effect on the climate change such as carbon emission from petrol fuels. Additionally, sources of the energy that is used are not renewable and considering some of the machines that I use such as washers and dryers, refrigerators and electric cookers, it means that I am one of the people that contribute climate change and therefore, there is need to innovatively consider strategies that I need to in place to reduce energy consumption which would go along way in minimizing negative that I cause to the environment. To deeply address concerns of the climate change in the wider context, I will thoroughly reflect on the week 2, 3, 6, 9, 10 and 11 which address various issues that relate to environmental communication.
Reflection on Energy on use and its integration to climate change and also environmental communication.
In the earlier section, I have identified various through which is use energy when I wake up unto when I retire to sleep. It is equivocal that some of the ways through which I used energy have been introduced after the industrial revolution and even more machines are being introduced which uses fossils fuels which are continually causing climate changes. For example, washing machines and dry cleaners and vehicles are some of the machines which contribute emit carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that have an adverse effect on the environment. From my personal experiences and upon reflection of the material that I have covered for the past weeks, there are 8 core concepts and ideas that require attention in the resolve to address climate change and revamp environmental communication. These ideas and concepts are as discussed below:

Issue Advertising
Issue advertising is all about the creation of awareness with respect the current issues affecting the society. At most times, issue advertising is carried out in a bid to discourage some elements of unproductive human activity; to oust out trends that have not stood the test of time as beneficial. One of the issues affecting planet earth at the moment is deforestation. Deforestation refers to the cutting down of forest cover to get cleared land. It has brought about global warming, bad air quality, swelling-up of coats, and global warming in general. Human beings cut down trees for reasons such as building houses, opening businesses, erecting resorts and creation of golf courses among other reasons.
All the above mentioned courses are noble and pleasing but what good does fancy malls and houses do human kind if they are losing forest cover on a daily basis. The loss of forest cover subsequently compromises the quality of the air we breathe.
It is due to such concerns that an advertising agency like TBWA in Paris, France came up with an initiative to make human kind aware of the dangers of clearing forest cover (Arens, Schaefer & Weigold, 2009). Below is an example of a pictorial composition they came up with. This paper is going to giving invaluable insights on how issue advertising regarding deforestation is executed. In addition to that, it will provide a description and analysis of how the persuasive message i.e. stopping deforestation, can be put across.
Research on Deforestation; an Overview
According to National Geographic, deforestation refers to the clearance of planet Earth’s forest cover on a broad scale such that the land quality is resultantly damaged. Forests currently occupy about thirty percent of the land surface. All the same, swaths matching the size of Panama are gone every twelve months. The rainforests of the world may totally disappear within one century keeping in mind the existing rate at `which people are cutting forests. Forests are usually cut down for myriad reasons, all of these reason.
2012 landcare conference
The 2012 National Landcare Conference brought together over 900 people involved in the Landcare movement across Australia and internationally. Keynote speakers including David Suzuki and Tim Flannery gave inspiring talks on environmental issues. Many presentations focused on using social media to promote Landcare's message and the successes of the Victorian Landcare program. Conference attendees found the farmer-led research presentations and displays on controlling weeds and soil health most memorable. The gala dinner celebrated the National Landcare Award winners and was attended by notable Australians like Bob Hawke and Jack Thompson.
