NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd) was established on Gandhi Jayanti to benefit farmers in agriculture. NAFED operates under the multi-state cooperative societies act and plays a huge role in marketing agricultural products in India, which accounts for 30% of GDP. NAFED provides facilities and benefits to cooperative societies, purchases, sells, and stores agricultural products, and connects societies to international agencies to directly benefit members.
