This document compares survival rates for patients with locally advanced cervical cancer who received chemotherapy plus radiotherapy versus radiotherapy alone across several studies from the 1990s. It shows that in 4 out of 7 studies, the combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy resulted in improved overall survival rates compared to radiotherapy alone, with statistically significant improvements in 2 studies using epirubicin/cisplatin or bleomycin/vincristine/mitomycin/cisplatin combinations. However, 3 studies found no significant difference in survival between the two treatment approaches.
