2. Introduction
 Darwin Horan is the owner and president of Ventana
Capital Inc. in Englewood, Colorado. In addition to
his responsibilities at Ventana, Darwin Horan
regularly supports various charitable organizations,
including Rocky Mountain Service, Employment, &
Redevelopment (RMSER).
Formed in 1980, RMSER is dedicated to providing
individuals in need opportunities for employment,
training, and education. The organization
administers many special programs, including the
Head Start Program.

3. Rocky Mountain Service, Employment, &
Redevelopment
 The Head Start Program was created to help prepare
young children for kindergarten by providing them with
early social and cognitive skills. RMSER employs a well-
trained teaching staff to provide what is called the
Creative Curriculum, a scientific-research-based
framework designed to give children a basis for learning
reading and math and promote social-emotional and
physical development.
The Head Start Program also aims to support parents by
building collaborative relationships between them and
Head Start staff members. To further its ability to support
parents, the program has built partnerships with aid
agencies that are likely to also be working with families in
the Head Start Program.
