Rock the Bulb, by Washington State’s Puget Sound Energy (PSE), was a multi-event campaign that ran from July through October of 2009 (Puget Sound Energy 2009).
The document discusses Xcel Energy's operations across several midwestern and western states, including its leadership in wind and solar energy. It outlines Colorado's growing energy needs and Xcel's support for climate policy and renewable energy standards. The summary also mentions Xcel's investments in developing a green workforce, energy efficiency programs, and renewable resources like wind, solar, and biogas.
PSE&G, a New Jersey utility, announced a program to distribute 100,000 energy efficient light bulbs to customers. The "Switch and Save" program aims to encourage energy conservation and support the state's climate change initiatives. Customers who visit customer service centers or meet with service technicians will receive an ENERGY STAR certified CFL bulb. Using the bulbs is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40,000 tons over the life of the bulbs. The utility estimates that all its conservation programs will reduce emissions by 400,000 tons over the next decade.

Solar energy business in south asian countriesMohammad Sharif
The document summarizes the need and potential for solar energy development across South Asia. It notes that energy demand is rising rapidly in countries like Bangladesh, India, and others in the region. Most current energy production relies on thermal and hydro sources that are limited and contribute to global warming. Solar energy represents an alternative that is abundant and can meet rising energy needs. India in particular is highlighted as a potential market given its large population, energy shortfalls, and government policies supporting solar power. The document outlines a proposed business plan and supply chain for establishing a solar energy company focused on serving rural Indian communities.

This document provides an overview of Xcel Energy's clean energy strategy for Minnesota. It aims for a balanced approach that provides clean, reliable and affordable power through a diverse resource mix including emission controls, renewable energy, energy efficiency programs, and customer choice programs. Key points include investing $1 billion to reduce emissions at three coal plants, meeting Minnesota's renewable energy standard of 30% by 2020, and customers saving 242 GWh through energy efficiency programs in 2011.

The Business and Financial Models Workshop was held in Cambridge in January 2016. The workshop invited participants from business, academia and NGOs to address the following questions:
o It is generally considered that private enterprises and independent power producers have a key role to play in bringing sustainable energy-enabled businesses to un-served rural communities.
o What are the main opportunities and challenges in establishing viable business and financial models for these organisations, and what innovative approaches are emerging to meet these challenges?
o What support can governments and development agencies usefully provide?

Akili case study - Gamification in healthcare - Manu Melwin Joymanumelwin
Akili has designed a game called Evo to help detect Alzheimer's disease. Evo tests cognitive interference and distraction, which is important for daily functioning. Players steer an alien down a river on their phone or tablet while tapping the screen in response to distractions. Performance data is collected and compared to standardized data from normal and Alzheimer's patients to potentially provide a more cost-effective diagnosis than a PET scan. Evo aims to provide an assessment similar to Cog Cubed's game for detecting cognitive impairment.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

3. Rock the Bulb
• Rock the Bulb, by
Washington State’s Puget
Sound Energy (PSE), was a
multi-event campaign that
ran from July through
October of 2009 (Puget
Sound Energy 2009).
4.
5. Rock the Bulb
• During the four months of
the campaign, PSE held 16
weekend events featuring a
free light bulb exchange
and energy education.
6.
7. Rock the Bulb
• These events were held at
local hardware stores
where PSE’s residential
electric customers could
exchange up to 10
incandescent bulbs for CFLs
.
8.
9. Rock the Bulb
• PSE also used Rock the Bulb as a
data-collection opportunity.
Customers receiving CFLs were
required to give PSE employees
their address and utility account
number; this allowed PSE to
track the impact of the CFLs on
the household’s energy savings .
10.
11. Rock the Bulb
• The second major part of the
campaign was a contest
called Be an Energy Rock Star,
in which PSE customers
competed to reduce their
household energy use during
the month of October.
12. Rock the Bulb
• The winning family received
a $7,500 Lowe’s gift card for
reducing its consumption
by 94%, beating the runner-
up by 8%.
13. Rock the Bulb
• The winners’ actions were
probably too austere for long-
term sustainability: they included
unplugging all but the most
essential appliances, using solar
flashlights inside their darkened
home, and cooking outside. Still,
these draconian measures
captured media attention.
