Editorial
n September 2014, Frotcom International announced that it had been awarded
the title of PME Líder 2014 (SME Leader 2014).
This February, the icing on the cake: Frotcom International was awarded the highest
recognition of PME Excelência 2014 (SME Excellence 2014).
This high notoriety and visibility status, given by the Portuguese Ministry of Economy
through IAPMEI (Public Agency for SME and Innovation), recognizes Frotcom
International as one of the best SMEs in Portugal, selected from among the top SMEs
which, every year, present the best economic and financial performance, contributing
to the country’s overall competitiveness.
Being a PME Excelência, for me, is one more sign that we are heading in the right
direction. And this, for our clients, is good news: the fact that we are such a solid
company with a long term vision is very reassuring.
In that sense, this is also our clients’ reward.

Frotcom Spain showcases new Fleet Management
module integrated with the new Garmin fleetTM
670
On January 29, 2015, Frotcom Spain invited around 30 guests from the
international road transportation industry, to attend its Technical Seminar on
Integrated Management and Efficient Driving with the new Garmin fleetᵀᴹ 670.
This event was also attended by two special guests, Mr. Valério Marques, CEO at
Frotcom International and Mr. Lula Sales, Marketing Director at Garmin Iberia.
This Technical Seminar provided an opportunity for attendees to glean an
exclusive in-depth view of the navigator's expanded range of features when
combined with Frotcom's built-in fleet management app. The partnership
introduces customized applications and value-added services that meet the
customers’ unique requirements.
The session started with Frotcom Spain presenting the Fleet Management
module, designed by Frotcom, and its integration with the Garmin fleetᵀᴹ 670.
Eduardo de Antonio, Commercial Director at Frotcom Spain, demonstrated
several features such as how to send and receive messages, receive forms (100%
adaptable to each company), and how to send detailed tasks to each driver with
real-time monitoring of the entire work process.
The event also included the participation of ASOCAP, a vocational training
company in the transportation field, represented by Mrs. Luisa Cusell, President at
ASOCAP and Mr. Gerard Aymerich, an expert in eco-driving at ASOCAP, who
talked about efficient driving, how to implement it into the company in a practical
way, and the benefits to both companies and environment.
At the end of the session, Eduardo de Antonio was thrilled with the event, saying,
“What we demonstrated here today will facilitate the entire execution of the
owners and fleet managers’ daily work. With the integration of Garmin fleetᵀᴹ 670
and Frotcom’s Fleet Management module, company owners and fleet managers
will be able to communicate with their drivers in real-time, optimizing the cost of
communication and, above all, helping them better manage the time of each task.
I am very happy with the results and we are already thinking about our upcoming
event”.

New Certified Partner
Saudi Arabia – a new partner has arrived at Frotcom
United Services Gulf General Contracting Co. has signed an agreement with
Frotcom International to become the exclusive Frotcom representative in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The company has been working in the Kingdom for the past five years, providing
maintenance and management services in the field of IT, BMS and Oil & Gas
design projects.
“We found FROTCOM to be the best in the field of GPS
tracking, so we joined them as a partner for the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We are expecting a great
partnership with Frotcom to boost the business in
Saudi Arabia”, said Naeem Tatla, Country Manager at
Frotcom Saudi Arabia.

Set privacy mode in the
Driver feedback bar
The Driver feedback bar device
consists of a bar of LEDs, used to
display the driving behaviour during
a trip; a buzzer; an iButton reader
for driver identification; and two
buttons.
On the right, the home button, and
on the left the work button. If the
driver is allowed to specify Privacy
Mode, he can do it by clicking the
home button for 3 seconds. A
confirmation will be produced by all
LEDs flashing and a long buzzer
sound.
When in privacy mode, the light bar
will have only the right red LED
always ON and no driving behaviour
events will be recorded or
displayed.
To go back to normal, working
mode, the driver must click the
work button. A confirmation will be
produced by the green LEDs flashing
and a long buzzer sound.
The privacy mode state can also be
changed remotely, in Frotcom, as
before (manually or automatically).
The driver will be notified through
the same patterns described above.

Frotcom helped BION increase the productivity of asset
management by more than 10%
Spain's BION LOGISTICA Y TRANSPORTE was created in February 2010, as part of the
Glas Group. The excellent geographical location, in Írun, on the border between Spain
and France, places the company in a privileged location to develop their business as
an international transportation company.
Client Challenges
Due to its continuous dynamic growth, BION was having difficulty in controlling its
assets throughout its several locations. Making daily international calls to the
independent drivers, knowing the whereabouts of its semi-trailers and monitoring
them was becoming a very difficult task. To more effectively control its 40
semitrailers, the company decided to research for a reliable GPS tracking solution.
Frotcom Spain’s Approach
Mr. Jose Antonio Ortiz, Managing Director at BION, requested a proposal and a
demo from three different vehicle tracking companies that he had heard of.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ortiz caught sight of a truck owned by a company in the international
European transport sector. The truck had a yellow Frotcom sticker on it, indicating
that it was a client of Frotcom, and he instantly called the company to learn what they
thought about Frotcom. Mr. Ortiz became interested in Frotcom after being referred
by one of the managers of this well-known transportation company.
“Their positive opinion about the Frotcom solution prompted me to look into what
Frotcom Spain had to offer BION”, said Mr. Ortiz.
Frotcom Spain had the opportunity to visit BION and show all the benefits of the
solution, not only to Mr. Ortiz, but also to Bion’s traffic team, managed by Mr. Carlos
Gutiérrez.
The company started a one-month free trial using one of its semi-trailers, concluding
that Frotcom was both affordable and included the features they were looking for.
They found that Frotcom was particularly effective in helping the team save time and
controlling a fleet in real-time while eliminating the need to make costly international
calls every day.
Benefits achieved
Although BION’s team found the solution easy to learn and use, they underwent a
training process provided by Frotcom Spain, to take full advantage of Frotcom’s
features in their day-to-day work.
“The company is saving more than one hour per day, with
Frotcom”, mentioned Carlos Gutiérrez. “Since we are controlling
the fleet through Frotcom and accessing key information about
our fleet, we definitely saved money while running our fleet
more efficiently. We can also organize the routes and the
deliveries according to customer’s needs.”
Frotcom has proven to be extremely effective for BION, as it is easier to manage the
business when the fleet management team knows the real-time whereabouts of their
assets and can monitor their actions without a telephone call.
