Flexibility and choice
Flexible options mean that if your circumstances change
in the future and you need to increase or decrease your
premiums, change your payment frequency, invest a lump
sum or even take a premium holiday, with Paragon you
can. It is all about building a policy that suits you and your
circumstances, and providing the flexibility to alter that
policy as you need to, subject to the policy rules.

suits your needs, we have brought together a range of

Investing in the Isle of Man
RL360° is based in the Isle of Man, a location firmly
established as one of the world’s leading financial
offshore centres. The Isle of Man is a British Crown
dependency which has enjoyed the stability of its own
Government for over 1,000 years, having one of the
oldest established parliaments anywhere in the world.
Over the last 25 years the Isle of Man has developed into
one of the largest offshore insurance and investment
centres in the world, renowned as a leading base for
international life assurance business due to extensive
financial regulation.
Our regulation in the Isle of Man ensures professional and
sound management which guarantees that the interests
of investors are protected.
It is from here that we have built a strong reputation for
providing quality service and products in the international
and expatriate markets.
Policyholder protection
Owners of policies issued by RL360 Insurance
Company Limited receive the protection of the Isle
of Man Compensation of Policyholders protection
scheme, which covers an amount equal to 90%
(subject to the provisions of the scheme) of RL360°’s
liability where it is unable to meet its financial
obligations. RL360° reserve the right to adjust the
returns to cater for any levy or charge made on
it under the regulations or similar legislation.

Flexibility and choice
To ensure that any investment you make suits your future
financial and lifestyle needs, flexibility and choice should
be key elements for consideration. After all, you know
what suits you best, so we’ve made sure that Paragon can
accommodate many of the changes you might need to
make to your policy as the years go by.
For example you might start your Paragon policy putting
money aside for a rainy day, but as life progresses,
planning for future education expenses or funding your
retirement may take priority.
Paragon from RL360° provides the ideal investment
policy and its built-in flexibility will ensure that your policy
can change with you to take account of your financial
situation and lifestyle changes.
Premium flexibility
There are various ways in which you can structure
your Paragon policy, from currency choice to premium
frequency and payment options.
Currency - Premiums can be accepted in the following
currencies:
Sterling (GBP)
Euro (EUR)
United States dollars (USD)
Premium frequency – You can make 2 types of payment
to your policy – regular premiums and single premium
injections. Regular premiums can be made monthly,
quarterly, half yearly or yearly and the minimum
premiums are as follows:
Additional single premium injections of at least GBP1,500/
EUR2,250/USD3,000 can be made at any time, and there
is no maximum. So if you receive a windfall in the future
such as a bonus from work or other investment proceeds,
you can easily top up your Paragon policy.
Payment options – Monthly and quarterly investors
can choose to pay their premiums by credit card,
standing order or direct debit (UK and Channel Island
bank accounts only). For those investors who prefer to
contribute on a half yearly or yearly basis, premiums
can be paid by credit card, standing order, direct debit,
telegraphic transfer, banker’s draft or cheque.

Flexibility and choice continued
Taking a break
To make Paragon as flexible as possible, we have also
allowed for you to take premium holidays. As long as
you fulfil the necessary criteria, further details of which
can be found in the Key Features, you can enjoy up
to 2 years’ break from paying your premiums, with no
additional charges incurred, although standard charges
will continue to apply. Perfect if life throws a few
unexpected hurdles in your way.
Access to your money
Paragon also lets you take withdrawals to use as you
wish, as and when you need them. As long as your policy
has been running for 5 years, withdrawals can be taken
monthly, quarterly, termly (i.e. on a 4 monthly basis), half
yearly, yearly or on an ad hoc basis. So, whether you need
to fund regular school term fees, supplement your income
in retirement, or you need access to a lump sum, Paragon
can provide you with the access you need.
The minimum withdrawal amount that can be taken is
USD500 or currency equivalent. The total of all regular
withdrawals in any policy year are limited to a maximum of
15% of the surrender value at the start of the policy year.
You should be aware that, if you make regular withdrawals
which exceed the growth in your policy, the value of your
investment will be eroded.
Is Paragon right for me?
Paragon is open to individuals, companies and trustees
and the minimum age for individual investors is 18 years
of age. The policy is available on a single or joint life
last death basis, with a maximum of 2 lives assured and
for individual investors there can be a maximum of 2
policyholders.
Premiums should be paid for a minimum of 5 years and
you can choose to contribute to the policy for as long as
you wish, up to a maximum age of 70.
Children’s Plans
If you are interested in investing on behalf of a child or
grandchild, we also offer Children’s Plans, an ideal way to
easily invest for a child’s future.
Indeed, what better gift to give a child than the gift
of financial freedom. Whether the policy is used to
provide an education, a deposit on a house, or to set up
a business, Children’s Plans offer an excellent vehicle to
provide for future generations, whilst providing possible
valuable tax benefits for the investor.
You should be aware however, that tax legislation varies
from country to country therefore advice should also be
sought from a financial adviser prior to investment.

your choice of funds or are looking for expertise in global
diversification, managed funds could provide the answer.

choice of options, from the more traditionally managed
fund investing in all the major asset classes to more
focused managed equity funds.

Risk and return
An important step towards creating a successful
investment portfolio is ensuring the funds you select meet
your investment risk proﬁle, in other words ensuring you
are comfortable with the amount of risk your investment
could be subject to.
You may be prepared to accept a higher degree of risk
in your policy to achieve potentially higher returns, or
you may prefer a more cautious approach where your
exposure to risk is reduced, but with the possibility of
lowering your returns.
Whatever your views, we believe Paragon has a solution
that is right for you.
From the lower risk money market funds to balanced
managed and higher risk specialist equity funds, we
believe that the Paragon fund range offers access to the
main asset classes and specialist sectors from which to
help you meet your investment objectives.
Flexibility
Remember, once you have made your decision, you
are not tied to it. As markets change and your ﬁnancial
objectives evolve over the years, you can switch between
funds (currently free of charge) and redirect future
premiums into new funds whenever you want.

Reaping the rewards
We all know that it’s important to make provision for the
future and that’s why we’ll do all we can to help you make
that regular, financial commitment to a secure future.
To help you take that first step towards planning for your
future, as well as offering flexible premium options and a
comprehensive range of investment choices, at RL360°
we give you an incentive to invest.
Premium allocation
Depending on how much you decide to invest, the
percentage of the premium that is invested in your policy
can increase from 100% to as much as 107%.
Please note that the above table applies to regular
premiums only.
A thank you from us to you
What is more, to say thank you for investing with us
and to reward you for making that commitment to your
future, Paragon offers a loyalty bonus to all its investors.
As long as all the premiums have been paid, RL360° will
pay a loyalty bonus of 1% per year of the accumulated
fund value. The starting policy anniversary from which
the loyalty bonus will be paid is dependent upon the
premium term (please see examples on following
page). Additional bonuses will also be paid on further
policy anniversaries, which are again dependent on the
premium term.
Please note that the loyalty bonus will be paid on
regular contributions only, and does not apply to single
premium injections.

How does it work?
Let us take a look at a couple of examples.
Example 1
This example is based on a Paragon policy with a 10-year
premium term, in which USD500 per month is invested.
As long as all the premiums have been paid, on the
third policy anniversary bonus units of 1% will be added,
increasing the value of the fund.
The policy will continue to receive further regular
bonuses of 1% each and every year and, in addition, at
the end of the 5th and 10th policy years, further bonus
units totalling 7% of the fund value will also be paid.
If we look at the graph we can see that the bonuses
paid could add over USD9,000 – over 15% of the total
premiums paid over the term.

premium term, in which USD200 per month is invested.
As long as all the premiums have been paid, on the sixth
policy anniversary, bonus units of 1% will be added,
increasing the value of the fund.
The policy will continue to receive further regular bonuses
of 1% each and every year and, in addition, at the end
of the 10th and 15th policy years, further bonus units
totalling 7% of the fund value will also be paid. If we look
at the graph we can see that the bonuses paid could add

Taking the next step
If you have read the Brochure, Investment Guide and Key
Features, you are ready to take control of your financial
future. The next phase is to follow our simple 4 step guide
on how to take out Paragon.
Step 1
Your financial adviser can request a Personal Illustration to
accompany the Key Features.
Step 2
Complete the Application Form, following any instructions
noted. If you are paying by direct debit, standing order or
credit card, please ensure the relevant payment instruction
form is completed and returned with the Application Form.
For half-yearly and yearly investors, if you are paying by
cheque, you should make the cheque payable to “RL360
Insurance Company Limited” and enclose it with your
Application Form. If you are investing by telegraphic
transfer, you should ensure that you complete the relevant
section in the Application Form.
Step 3
After reviewing the Investment Guide, and with the help
of your financial adviser, select the funds for your initial
investment choice. Remember you can switch funds
whenever you want, and also redirect any future premiums
to different funds to reflect your changing needs, in
conjunction with your financial adviser.

On each policy anniversary thereafter we’ll send
you a summary statement via your financial adviser,
detailing the status of your policy. In addition, you and
your financial adviser can get immediate up to date
information on your policy at any time at www.rl360.com,
our safe and secure online service for clients and advisers.

Important information
This Brochure should be read in conjunction with the Key
Features and Investment Guide before completing the
Application Form.
Taxation
You benefit from the tax efficiency of an Isle of Man based
life assurance policy. Under Isle of Man law, there is no
liability to tax on the income or capital gains of the various
funds. So, apart from any withholding tax that may be
deducted at source on income arising from investments
held in some countries which cannot be reclaimed by us,
your investment grows without any further deductions of
Isle of Man tax. Please remember, that as a policyholder,
you will be responsible for any tax liability that may arise as
a result of your country of residence or citizenship.
For information relating to your own tax circumstances
you should consult your financial adviser. The value of tax
benefits depends on individual circumstances and can
change in the future.
Law
The information contained in this Brochure is based on
our current understanding as at January 2013 of the
relevant areas of law and taxation. Whilst great care
has been taken to ensure the information is correct,
we cannot accept responsibility for its interpretation
or give legal advice.
Paragon is governed by Isle of Man law. This document
gives a brief guide to the policy. Full details are contained
in the policy Terms and Conditions and the Policy
Schedule (including any Endorsements) which, together

the legally binding contract between you and RL360

Complaints
If you wish to complain about any aspect of your policy
please consult your financial adviser or write to our Head
of Customer Services at our head office address.
Complaints about our products or service will be dealt
with in accordance with the Complaints Handling Policy, a
copy of which is available on request.

is not dealt with to your satisfaction you can refer it to
the Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme for the Isle
