Companies like ManuCorp have seemingly contradictory goals for their virtualized infrastructure: They want a solution that eases the deployment and management burden for generalized IT staff while simultaneously saving money over the long term. According to our analysis, ManuCorp would do well to choose Dell Engineered Solutions for VMware EVO:RAIL, saving up to 63.9 percent in costs over three years compared to a solution with Cisco UCS blades and NetApp storage.
Less experienced administrators like ManuCorp already has in house would be able to plug in the Dell Engineered Solutions for VMware EVO:RAIL and use its single, easy-to-use interface to deploy end-to-end virtual infrastructure and complete updates without any additional training or instruction. The Cisco UCS and NetApp solution required extra tools and a wider skillset, which can mean adding a more experienced person and inviting the chance for human error. In addition, the hyper-converged Dell Engineered Solutions for VMware EVO:RAIL appliance reduced power consumption compared to the do-it-yourself environment with Cisco UCS blades and NetApp, which can contribute to big operating cost savings.

Designing End-User Experience for Workplace of the Futurestevej7699
This whitepaper highlights how enterprises can use virtualization technologies to design and deliver superior end-user experience for Workplaces of the Future.
The promise of cloud computing is realized because of its
essential fundamentals—standardization of infrastructure,
virtualized resources and automated processes—and the
business results are measurable. Cloud computing represents
a paradigm shift at many levels, but the ‘return on investment’
that cloud customers are realizing cannot be overstated.
Cloud delivered desktop is the perfect answer for those companies that need to have complete control over their information. These are virtual desktops delivered via the cloud allowing you to enable you and your employees to securely access your applications and data from any device, from anywhere and at any time –– with the same access, security and productivity as from your own office environment.

Similar to Electric Supply Distributor deploys virtual desktops for increased mobility, productivity and business continuity (20)
Users can access their virtual desktop environment from any Windows PC. For deployments of vDesk, host OS (operating system) compatibility is necessary for end users. There is also an emerging class of users who require access to their desktop environment from both their Windows and Mac OS X PCs. VMware Fusion provides that easy-to-use solution for running the Windows OS on Mac OS hardware.
This paper will discuss the barriers of desktop virtualization adoption in the enterprise, the need for convergence in desktop virtualization approaches and the unique requirements across different types of enterprise users.
RingCube’s vDesk solution provides a complete managed Windows desktop virtualization solution that allows a user’s desktop environment to be decoupled from the operating system and encapsulated into a secure container, including applications, data, settings and system resources.
This paper discusses the barriers of desktop virtualization adoption in the enterprise, the need for convergence in desktop virtualization approaches and the unique requirements across different types of enterprise users. Finally, this paper reviews the RingCube vDesk solution, including how it works and how it’s Workspace Virtualization Engine (WVE) overcomes the barriers posed by legacy virtualization technologies.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
