Spóirtfest is a new sporting festival in Ballincollig aimed at showcasing the town's sports clubs and activities. The event organizer welcomes attendees and thanks the various sponsors and volunteers that have supported the event. The program details a variety of sports competitions and exhibitions taking place over the August bank holiday weekend, including soccer, GAA, hockey, ultimate frisbee and more.
This document is a welcome letter and program for the first Ballincollig Spóirtfest event being held over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It outlines the goals of showcasing local sports and bringing the community together, while thanking the many volunteers and sponsors who made the event possible. A variety of sports tournaments, exhibitions, music, and social events are listed on the program taking place around Ballincollig from July 29th to 31st.
The document is a partnership guide for the 2009/10 season from the Townsville McDonald's Crocodiles basketball team. It aims to finish in the top four of the regular season and win the championship. It will assemble a strong, skilled, athletic team and continue developing as one of Australia's premier clubs with corporate support. The guide promotes various corporate membership, sponsorship, and branding opportunities to partner with the team and help it succeed on and off the court.
The Gold Ribbin' BBQ Fest of Greater Green Bay is being held at Lambeau Field this year to raise money for the Golden House Domestic Abuse Program. Now in its second year, the event has grown from 42 to 76 competing barbecue teams. It includes a barbecue competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, as well as a family-friendly picnic with food, games and contests. Festival proceeds benefit Golden House, a local domestic violence shelter and support program established in 1979. This year's event promises to be the biggest yet.

Dear River House Golf Friends,
The 2012 season is off to a blockbuster start here at River House Golf.
From the ownership and staff, we want to start off by thanking each
and every member who has supported us through the past to this new and
exciting time.
With the unbelievable weather we have enjoyed through the past couple of
months, Director of Golf Tom Hanna & Superintendent Kyle Spear have
gotten a early start on the many course improvement projects. Tom & Kyle
would like to personally thank everyone for your patience through this time
and hope that everyone is enjoying the greatly improved greens conditions and
overall golfing experience.
The 2012 golf season will be kicking into full gear over the next couple of
weeks with the restart of our many great leagues as well as a positive increase
in many great local tournaments. Please be sure to check our Calendar
of Events for upcoming tournament events that may be running during
regular course hours. With the course conditions constantly improving, we
are happy to see so many local golfers supporting this great facility. Once
again the Easton Club is the place to play great golf on the shore!
The Pro Shop is starting to restock with great new River House Golf apparel
as well as a great selection of footwear. Many new vendors will be hosting
demo days to showcase the latest and greatest in new club technology. We will
also host fitting days from Ping & Mizuno, so be sure to keep a look out for
availability.
We thank you for your continued support and look forward to a fantastic
season!
See you on the greens,

are co chairing the 9 Hole Ladies
League this year. We have some new
activities as well as some ideas to
expand the league to meet the needs
of all levels/interests of play. You do
not have to be a golf club member to

We hope many will stay after play to eat

Chef’s Favorite Recipe
Strawberry Shortcake.
• Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
• Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
• Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, 2/3 cup white sugar, and
salt in a mixing bowl.
• Pat in cold butter with a knife until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
(If desired, place flour mixture into the work bowl of a food processor with
the butter; pulse several times to cut butter into the flour mixture. Transfer
mixture to a mixing bowl, and proceed.)
• Stir in buttermilk until the flour mixture is moistened.
• Drop 1/3-cup scoops of the dough 2 inches apart onto a prepared baking sheet.
• Brush biscuits with heavy cream and sprinkle generously with sugar.
• Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes.
• Mix together the sliced strawberries, 1/4 cup white sugar, in a large bowl.
Allow berries to rest until juices develop, about 15 minutes.
• Serve the biscuits with the strawberries with juice over the top
• Decorate with fresh whipped cream and garden mint
3 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2/3cup white sugar
1 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup chilled unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons heavy cream
8 cups sliced local strawberries
1/4 cup white sugar
2 oz Gran Mariner or Orange Liquor
Iam a big supporter of Local Farmers. It might cost a little more and yes,
you might have to meet them on the side of the road somewhere for a
pick up, but it’s worth it! Just as an FYI, I am fortunate to have not one, but
2-two- great horticulturist as owners; Peg Fitzgerald (Master Gardener) and
Kathleen Hargrove (My Green Thumb) on board. They are planning and
getting ready to plant a raised bed -“Chef’s Garden” right out our kitchen
door!
Kathleen and Peg will plant herbs that I will incorporate into my
cooking. I am so excited! There is nothing as tasty as just picked herbs!
Getting back to the Local Farmers, I will be using as much as I can
all local products on my menu. And as the produce becomes available the
menu will change to reflet what is absolutely the fresheest in season! I will
let you know what farms I am buying from, so you can visit and enjoy their
local produce. I know that they will appreciate your business.
We are so lucky to have many great farms and resources literally in
our own back yards! To be able to enjoy the taste and health of fresh grown
or caught foods is a real pleasure of living on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
If at any time you want to know more about a recipe or where and
how I create a dish on my menu, please, just ask me, or pass your name and
question on to one of our fantasitic servers, or email me at the address below.
I will do my best to get back to you in timely matter. Enjoy the beautiful
spring, and remember to eat local and support your local farmers!
Come visit, you belong!

7. Like the keel of a ship, Mande Bridges guides
the River House at Easton Club. With
confidence she ensures that it will arrive safely
at its destination. Mande provides stability,
oversight and balance and keeps the River House
on an even course. Mande is the go to person, the
human resources guru, the accounts payable and
receivable expert, the office manager and the “Mom” to whom everyone runs
when they need an answer.
Since January 2010, Mande has been employed at The Easton Club, start-
ing as a part time employee in human relations and quickly becoming an
invaluable full time superstar just six months later. Her easy disposition and
hard work ethic have kept the Easton Club afloat, through stormy and fair
skies, and now she reports optimistically “There are blue skies ahead for the
River House, we are going big places”. From her office located on the second
floor, above the River House Restaurant, she said recently, “The whole
atmosphere has changed, with new customers and members becoming more
involved, the new owners are great, engaged and filled with good ideas.”
Mande sees the employees working well together as an essential component
of the success of the River House operations. “It is vital that everyone knows
the beat, is well trained in their area of expertise and can back up another
employee if needed. There is a real energy here and it is a pleasure to work
with staff.”
When not at the River House, Mande is first and foremost a ‘Mom’ to
her children Tiffany, Robert and Dylan and a Grand mom to 14 month old
Haiden. She and her husband Bobby live in Cordova. Mande is involved
with Chapel District Sports where she serves on the Advisory Board. In her
spare time she enjoys knitting and reading.
The River House is fortunate to have Mande and is thankful for her guid-
ance, perseverance and for keeping thing on an even course. The wind is
up, the sails are full and the River House is going places, thanks in part to
Mande Bridge!
Did you know?
That the Easton Club Homeowners Association has
administrative offices located on the second floor of the
River House?Mrs. Mary Jo Simms, Administrator, keeps the
homeowners abreast of all of the wonderful events and
happenings at the River House.
Thank you Mary Jo!
