The Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Power Project in Madhya Pradesh, India is a 750 MW solar power plant constructed between 2017-2018. It was developed as a joint venture between the Solar Energy Corporation of India and the Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam. The project includes 3 units of 250 MW each that were awarded to different private companies. The World Bank and IFC provided financing, with IFC investing $437 million. The project provides electricity to Madhya Pradesh and Delhi and has positively impacted electricity access and reduced carbon emissions. Some challenges were faced during land acquisition and addressing impacts on local communities.
