Career	Goal:	To	become	a	recording	engineer/studio	owner.		
	
Requirements:		
	
• Bachelor’s	degree	in	music	production	and	engineering	(2019)	
• Excellent	business	skills	
• Excellent	time-	management	skills	
• Ability	to	think	on	my	feet	
• Excellent	communication	skills	
• Knowledge	of	both	analog	and	digital	equipment		
• Ability	to	work	with	the	recording	artist’s	ideas	and	insights	
• Ability	to	record	every	type	of	instrument	with	different	recording	
techniques	
• Ability	to	create	open	and	tight	mixes	
• Ability	to	create	crystal	clear	masters	
• Not	having	to	stop	the	session	because	I	can’t	figure	out	what	is	wrong	with	a	
piece	of	equipment	
• Occasionally	take	over	the	role	of	the	producer	if	the	situation	calls	for	it

• Current	owner	and	lead	engineer	of	my	home	small	business,	Resistance	
Studios	(2015-Present)	
• Interned	for	a	summer	at	Bluebox	Audio	Studio	in	Franklin,	MA,	2015	
• Recorded,	edited,	mixed,	and	mastered	in	a	variety	of	styles	
• Played	in	rock	and	metal	bands	at	venues	such	as	the	Worcester	Palladium	
• Freshman	at	Berklee	College	of	Music,	Boston,	MA	
• Published	recordings	online	at	places	such	as	Soundcloud	
• Excellent	communications	with	the	local	New	England	music	scene	
• Decent	GPA	in	high	school	
• Vice	President	of	the	Science	Club	at	Medway	High	School,	2014-15	
	
Plan	to	reach	career	goal:	
	
• Bachelor’s	degree	in	Music	Production	at	Berklee	College	of	Music,	2019	
(Potentially	Master’s,	2020)	
• Intern	with	a	larger	New	England	studio	(2018)	
• Reach	out	to	new	artists	and	promoters	to	continue	building	connections	and	
business
• Continue	owning	and	recording	at	Resistance	Studios,	Medway,	MA	(2015-
Present)	
• Look	for	opportunities	to	do	live	sound	at	parties	or	venues	
• Continue	playing	in	local	bands	to	get	to	know	the	artists	and	the	music	scene	
	
REVISIONS:	
	
• Considering	the	steady	decline	of	physical	copies	of	recordings,	make	more	
use	of	distribution	of	my	products	via	iTunes,	Soundcloud,	Spotify,	etc.		
• Start	building	a	team	for	Resistance	Studios:	Advertisers,	other	audio	
engineers,	artists,	session	musicians	
-	A	team	is	needed	to	have	a	high	amount	of	success	in	the	modern	
D.I.O.	music	industry.	
-	Having	more	people	on	the	team	means	that	we	can	take	on	more	
work,	get	the	recordings	distributed	farther,	and	turn	a	larger	profit.	
• I	would	like	to	get	more	involved	with	my	business	on	social	media	and	the	
Internet.	
o I	want	to	start	developing	a	professional	website	for	my	brand	and	to	
provide	a	showcase	for	the	artists	we	produce	and	record.	
o I	want	to	start	posting	on	platforms	such	as	Facebook,	Instagram,	and	
Twitter	at	least	every	two	to	three	days	to	really	create	a	following	
• I’m	going	to	start	getting	more	organized	with	the	running	of	my	studio	
business.	
o I	am	going	to	make	sure	all	the	files	on	my	hard	drive	get	into	the	
folders	they	belong	in	and	that	everything	is	accounted	for.	
o I	want	to	keep	folders	of	detailed	graphs	and	schematics	for	the	gear	
we	have.	This	would	include	things	like	frequency	response	graphs.	
o I	want	to	make	sure	all	the	past	projects	are	totally	mixed	and	
mastered	properly	and	posted	as	samples	to	our	Google	Drive	for	any	
potential	clients	to	listen	to.		
• I	want	to	try	to	keep	up	with	all	the	modern	advancements	in	music	business	
and	audio	technology.	
o This	ensures	that	we	are	always	at	the	forefront	of	distribution	so	we	
can	be	ready	for	the	next	step	in	the	industry.	This	will	be	whatever	
comes	after	music	streaming.	
o This	also	ensures	that	our	mixes	are	on	par	with	the	current	radio	hits	
and	the	big	name	producers	and	labels.		
• I	want	to	constantly	be	building	connections	and	gaining	new	contacts.	
o These	new	contacts	can	have	any	possible	role	in	the	music	world.	
o New	people	can	help	with	advertisement,	distribution,	
instrumentation,	etc.		
o New	people	help	to	bring	in	new	business.
