ABSTRACT:-
“Nanogenerators”the sustainable source of energy. They cangenerate apower
for portable device andalso developedaSelf poweredsystemthroughwhichan
individual can generate its ownenergy.
Nanogenerators canbe the upcoming most reliable source of energy.
INTRODUCTION:-
Nanogenerators are those generatorswhichconverts mechanical energy into
electrical energy basedon piezoelectric effect, triboelectric effect and
pyroelectric effect.
Nanogenerator are firstly introducedin2001 by Dr. Zong Lin Wang. HE invented
a way toproduce electric current fromthe mechanical movements of a body by
the helpof a microlevel structure made upof piezoelectric material.
NANOGENRATORS:WHAT ARE THEY?
Nanogenerators are the nanolevel chips or circuits whichare connectedtothe
moving parts of human bodies withthe helpof nanowire. When a strainor
mechanical stress is appliedtothe moving part of this material they generatesa
electric charge. The amount of electric charge generatedis not very large as
compared toother sources of electrical energy but they canbe usedto harvest
the wastedenergy producing by the movements.
2. Basically there are three approaches used in nanogenerators :
1st
– piezeoelectric effect :- Inthis approach the energy is harvestedby adevice
which converts the mechanical strainor force intoelectrical energy due tothe
deformationoccur by force .
In this a piezeoelectric material is attachedtohumans so as the movements
occurs the piezeoeleectric material experiences a mechanical strainandproduce
electric charge.
2nd
:- Pyroelectric :- Inthis a device generally works by utilizing the temperature
difference betweentwo ends of the device . this temperature difference is
requiredtodrive the diffusionof charge carrier generation.
3rd
:- Triboelectric :-Inthis approacha device is made by organic films. They are
usedto create a potential difference due tothe triboelectric effectacross the
junction of two organic films which results the charges flowfromthe one plate
to another.
NANOGENERTAOR:ASSETS:-
The nanogenerator produce enoughpower to run portable devices soit
can be usedas a self poweredsystem.
The piezeoelectric nanogeneratorsare able toproduce energy from
movement of blood pressure or by movement of human bodies.
Nanogenerators are the source of sustainable energy as they harvest the
wastedenergy of human bodies as mechanical movement of human is
never ending.
3. NANOGENERATOR:PLACE TO WORK ON:-
As these generatorsare small insize they alsoproduce a very low amount
of energy . this amount can only be capable of powering portable devices
.
These generator are not meant to work for a long time till now.
NANOGENERATORS:POTENTIAL APPLICATIONS:-
In the fieldof medical sciences:-
Nanogenerators canbe usedas a power source for pacemerters .
this generationcanfacilate the use of self poweredenergy
harvesting system
In powering the nanobots whichare usedin microscopy .
As a source of sustainable energy
As we know the mechanical movement of blood and human bodies will
never endas a result nanogenerators canbe the source of a sustainable
energy .
CONCLUSION:-
Nanogenerator as a source of sustainable energy shows a tremendous
way to conserve energy and reproduce it. It is one of the greatest
invention as the energy degradation is repeating daily as a resultone
day we can run out of sources. Nanogenrators have a great concept of
changing the energy that was being wasted to be harvested to use as
4. a self power system. At present the energy provided by the
nanogenerators is not so much but in future it may be improvised .
