The Revenue Generation Task Force met to discuss increasing revenue streams at LSU. They reviewed the task force charter of identifying new self-generated and sponsored research revenue. Presenters discussed LSU's current sources of revenue and opportunities for growth in sponsored research. The task force identified areas for potential revenue increases and subject matter experts to consult about efficiencies and revenue opportunities. They will meet again in March to further the discussion.

On Thursday, 21st April 2016 the International Longevity Centre and the Global Aging Institute hosted a roundtable discussion with European Commissioners on maximising the potential of Europe's ageing population in reference to Asian best practice, supported by Prudential Plc.
The discussion focused on how different Asian countries address the demographic challenge posed by an ageing society, and how they respond to the social mood relating to work and retirement; participants also considered how healthcare can meet the challenges posed by rapidly ageing societies across Europe.
Asset Management Planning - Is our journey on the right track?

Technology Task Force Meeting
The Technology Task Force met on February 21, 2013 to review its charter, identify areas of opportunity to focus on, and determine which subject matter experts could address the task force. The group discussed where they should focus their time, what systems are currently used, and opportunities to improve processes and efficiency through technology. According to statistical data from the National Science Foundation, federally and non-federally funded research and development to higher education has been on the decline since 2011. In 2014 all R&D expenditures in higher education topped out at just over $67B. FY2014 contract dollars were $445B, with 64% of that distributed by the Department of Defense. Universities house enormous capabilities and those who have understood the contracting business have done very well. In this presentation we will discuss the opportunities that come from seeking contracts from the federal government. We will explore the establishment of the Alabama A&M Research, Innovation, Science, and Engineering (AAMU-RISE) Foundation and the steps taken to build this R&D contracting operation with a university setting from the ground up. We will discuss the establishment of the Knowledge Sharing Center, created to help other universities learn the steps involved in government contracting. Finally we will discuss the how the fifteen HBCUs that have ABET accredited Engineering programs can work together to benefit from the funding available through contract based R&D.Wave VII Mentor Michigan Census Results

The Transition Advisory Team provided a summary report to the LSU Board of Supervisors in July 2013. The report outlined the team's efforts, which included 5 subcommittees, 6 task forces, and involvement from 114 members. It presented LSU2015, a vision for LSU to be recognized for academic achievement, research excellence, commitment to service, and economic development. Key recommendations included improving the student experience, expanding access to graduate programs, focusing research efforts, generating new revenue, modernizing technology systems, and adopting a new management model and funding approach to support a high-performance culture.Transition Advisory Team
The Transition Advisory Team met to discuss transformation priorities for LSU. They reviewed recommendations from subcommittees on academics, research, student experience, operations/technology, and finance. The recommendations included increasing research funding, focusing research on priority areas, improving student recruitment and retention, expanding online courses, streamlining procurement, and generating new revenue sources.
