The document is a resume for Soumyadeep Mitra summarizing his professional experience working with SharePoint. It outlines his skills and experience administering and configuring SharePoint 2010 and 2013 environments, including troubleshooting issues, customizing forms using InfoPath, and designing workflows using SharePoint Designer. It also provides details of his previous roles supporting SharePoint 2010 and 2007 intranet portals, as well as SharePoint 2003 and ASP.NET websites.
Microsoft SharePoint is an enterprise collaboration and content management platform that enables users to connect and share information across an organization. It allows users to create different types of input forms for workflows, including association, initiation, modification, and task edit forms. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) adds additional features not available in WSS 3.0. A site collection contains a top-level site and multiple child sites that share common settings and administration.
This document provides an overview of using InfoPath with SharePoint. The objectives are to understand InfoPath's core functionality in SharePoint, customize forms for lists and libraries, manage data connections, create InfoPath form libraries, and publish forms to libraries. The agenda covers InfoPath and SharePoint capabilities, customizing list forms, using InfoPath with libraries, and the InfoPath form web part. Customizing list forms allows hiding fields and adding styles but forms cannot be reused across lists. InfoPath addresses this by allowing form reuse in libraries with a loosely coupled architecture.
The document discusses new user interface features in SharePoint 2010, including the ribbon interface, status bar, notifications, dialog framework, improved page model, master pages, theming engine, and extensibility of these features. The ribbon replaces the command surfaces of SharePoint 2007 and can be customized. The status bar and notifications provide feedback without page reloads. Dialogs load pages within iframes to reduce page transitions. Sites function as collections of pages. Themes allow changing the look and feel by applying color and font changes defined in theme files.
SharePoint 2013 introduced new features like apps, social capabilities and improved search compared to SharePoint 2010. It moved to a new app model and deprecated sandbox solutions and visual upgrades. Several site templates were also removed like Document Workspace, Personalization Site and Meeting Workspaces to simplify template selection. Existing sites created with these templates will still function in SharePoint 2013 but may not be supported in future releases.
This document provides an introduction to InfoPath 2010. InfoPath is a form building tool that can be used to create standalone forms or forms connected to SharePoint lists. It includes Designer and Filler components. InfoPath forms can include various controls, layouts, views, and rules to provide logic without coding. Rules validate data, format fields, and connect to data sources. InfoPath integrates with SharePoint and allows customizing SharePoint list forms. It provides more capabilities than standard SharePoint forms, including complex validation, lookups, workflows. The document demonstrates InfoPath features and rules.
This document provides an introduction to SharePoint 2010, including:
- An overview of SharePoint's architecture including front-end web servers, application servers, and database servers arranged in small, medium, or large farm topologies.
- Explanations of core SharePoint terminology like farms, web applications, site collections, sites, lists, libraries, pages, and web parts.
- Descriptions of SharePoint's main features for content management, search, business intelligence/insights, communities, and composites/customization.
- Details on how SharePoint supports collaboration, social networking, web content management, enterprise content management, and business applications.
This document contains the resume of Srikanth Kumar which summarizes his experience as a Senior SharePoint Developer. It details his technical proficiency in areas like SharePoint 2013/2010, .NET, C#, JavaScript, SQL Server, and his experience working with clients such as Hewlett Packard, BCBSNC, and Fujitsu to implement SharePoint solutions.
The document discusses SharePoint 2010 integration and interoperability capabilities. It covers business data challenges, how SharePoint addresses interoperability as an identity, search and data access platform, and what the Business Connectivity Services (BCS) is. The BCS allows integrating external systems through external content types, external columns and external lists. It also discusses limitations of the BCS and external lists. The presentation concludes with a demonstration and a thank you.

2. EXPERI ENCE
Hexaware Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore, India
Senior Systems Engineer July, 2014 – Till date
Currently working as SharePoint administrator for SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013
environments.
Job role includes maintenance of SharePoint 2010 and 2013 farms, troubleshooting system
and support issues reported by business users, and implementing custom design requests
using InfoPath and SharePoint Designer tools.
Client is a U.S. based global InformationTechnology company with head offices in Blue Bell,
Pennsylvania. SharePoint is extensively used by business users to maintain documents related
to project teams, and client collaborations.
Currently we have both SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013 farms in our environment.
Technical details of role, and functional achievements:-
As SharePoint administrator, my primary role is to ensure that the SharePoint farm is
fully functional and that the services that are running on the servers are running
properly, and troubleshooting issues in case of any issues.
Ensuring that the incremental crawls on the content sources are happening properly and
as per the schedule.
Checking tickets logged by business users for issues they face with SharePoint
functionality, and assisting them with the same.
An issue was reported with three state workflow that was implemented on a library,
where the workflow was failing and terminating abruptly when state was getting changed
from ‘State 1’ to ‘State 2’. Upon investigation, it was found that the library setting “Allow
documents to be checked out before making changes” was set to “Yes”. The “System
Account” running the workflow was unable to check out the document, resulting in
termination of the workflow. Changing the setting to “No” resolved the issue.
An issue was reported where the Visio drawing on the workflow page that shows the
workflow status in a diagram, was giving an error. Upon investigation, it was found that
the service account running The Visio Graphics Service Application did not have
dbowner permission on the Content database where that site was residing. Changing the
permissions resolved the issue.
An issue was reported where a user who had full control of the site was unable to edit
webpart pages, the error being shown was “Access Denied”. It was found that user did
not have any permission on the “Master pages and page layouts” gallery. Provisioning
contribute permissions on this gallery resolved the issue.
An issue was reported where a user was unable to create his mysite. Upon checking on
this issue, it was found that the limit for no. of site collections on all the content
databases for the mysite web application has been reached, hence the error. The limit
was increased on one of the content databases, but user was facing the same issue even
after that. When we checked in the user profile property “Mysite URL” for that user, we
found that SharePoint had logged an error entry “SPError” in that field, thus causing the
3. issue. After deletion of the error entry and saving the change, user succeeded in creating
his mysite.
I have worked on multiple issues related to compatibility and functional issues with
other Microsoft products (Internet Explorer, MS Office).
I have experience in troubleshooting ULS logs for issues.
I have worked on audiences in User Profile Service Application, an audience targeting is
extensively used on our home page to target content specific to a group of users. I have
also worked on importing values from Active Directory via a custom property mapping.
I have worked on SharePoint Designer 2010 and SharePoint Designer 2013, and have
hands on experience with creation and modification of SharePoint Designer workflows. I
have designed workflows based on certain provided parameters as well, and have
experience with troubleshooting issues related to workflows.
We have one SharePoint Designer workflow in a custom list, where a list item can be
assigned to a person using a people picker control, and a mail is triggered to the person
to whom the list item has been assigned. This was not working for one user only, and
SharePoint would break his name and surname as two different users. Upon
investigation, it was found that in the mail, the workflow lookup for the field “Assigned
to” was listed as display name. With another user in the organization having the same
display name, SharePoint would not be able to uniquely resolve the name, hence the
issue. Changing the lookup to “E-mail address” resolved the issue.
I have extensively worked on InfoPath 2013 for modifying SharePoint list forms, and
have worked on multiple service requests involving designing of SharePoint list, and
adding additional functionalities. I have experience in working with InfoPath rules for
adding validations, hiding/un-hiding of controls using formatting rules, and doing a
sequence of steps based on a value in a control, or switching views. I have designed
multiple list forms using InfoPath for client users, and am working on this aspect on a
regular basis.
We have a separate farm which is on extranet, where customers of our client interact and
share documents and information related to various engagements. Here I have worked
on creation of user accounts for client users in Active Directory, and troubleshooting any
user account related issues, in addition to SharePoint related issues.
Wipro Technologies Pvt.Ltd. Bangalore, India
Project Engineer May, 2010 – July, 2014
At Wipro, I have worked on two separate teams for the same client. There were two support
teams: one for their intranet portals and another one for internet websites.
Intranet environment was on SharePoint 2010 and MOSS 2007. Internet websites were based
on SharePoint 2003, with multiple ASP.NET applications running inside an iframe.
As part of intranet team, I was responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of the
front end SharePoint portals, as well as back end SharePoint WFE and application servers.
4. There was a request to change look and feel of one specific portal, and making the colors
different from default branding. I used SharePoint Designer 2007 extensively to locate the
css files and making the changes to the necessary sections.
I was responsible for monitoring the content sources used in search crawls, and checking on
any search issues.
I have worked on SharePoint Designer 2007 workflows as well, and was responsible for
creation of new workflows as and when there was a business requirement. Business would
provide the required functionality, and the same would be implemented.
Another part of my job responsibility included checking SharePoint issues end users have
been facing, and assisting them with the same. This would include new site creation
requests, and issues with access, SharePoint workflows, etc.
I have also worked on the team that supported the internet portals of client. These websites were
on SharePoint 2003, with JavaScript files being used to render the navigation items.
The contents on the pages of these websites were displayed using content editor web part.
Any text changes were done either from SharePoint or from Microsoft FrontPage tool.
Since many of the countries have multiple official languages, most of these sites have
multilingual pages with language toggle at the bottom of each page. These language toggles
are controlled by JavaScript in HTML files.
We had a request where a new language would need to be added to the website, in addition
to English. We created all the pages with contents provided by business, and created the
language toggle.
There were multiple ASP.NET 1.1 web application as well on these websites, and I was
responsible for enhancement activities/code change for these applications. The
functionalities of these application ranged from include query submission, contact forms,
Medical grant request submission form, searching for product details etc. Any functionality
changes has to be made to these web applications from time-to-time, by changing the code
written in ASP.NET.
Some of these applications rely on SQL databases, for fetching/ storing data. If need arises,
necessary changes need to be made to the database.
All of the websites have navigation menu items for top and side navigation. These
navigations are controlled by backend JavaScript files, and used arrays to have cascaded
menu items. Upon requested, changes need to be made to the JavaScript files to reflect the
changes to the website navigation menus.
