Benihana- Assistant Manager May 2012-Current
Part of a strong management team that believes in coaching and mentoring a strong staff to
improve guest relations and experiences.
• Duties:
o Creating schedules for 55 FOH staff members
o Interviewing and hiring of new staff members
o Mentoring current staff members with ambitions of becoming future managers
within the company by giving them opportunities to work with me on my
assignments/projects and letting them shadow me on shifts
o Monitoring of staff levels vs. sales volume both through the scheduling process and
on a shiftly basis
• Job Performance/Store Accomplishments
o Assisted in the writing of new training procedures and program for the restaurant
and supervise the proper training with those new systems are being followed with
new staff members
o Updated the employee filing system to be current, organized and all following the
same standard outlines, in doing so I also updated all employee reviews and pay
raises to be up to the current standards of the company
o This location increased sales by 16.82% in the 2014 FY over the previous year and is
currently up 15.32% in the 2015 FY
o Traveled to the Chandler location for 4 weeks as acting GM in Dec 13/Jan 14, and
aided in bringing Chandler up to date on company procedures and policies
o Bar manager from July 2012-October 2013, brought beverage costs from an average
of 20.65% in the 2012 FY to and average of 15.32%
o Offering workshops and participating in monthly meetings for the staff to further
the education on alcohol
o Designed and executed a dinner event for Children’s Hospital on March 10th
, 2014,
that was a huge success and will be turned into an annual event
