The document summarizes key points from a book about turning mistakes into stepping stones for success by John Maxwell. It discusses how achievers perceive and respond to failure differently than average people. Achievers take responsibility but don't take failure personally. The document also outlines how to define failure, learn from mistakes, take risks and persist towards goals and success. It provides examples of famous figures like Mozart, Van Gogh, Tesla and Jobs, who experienced failures but continued working to succeed.

Chapter 3 discusses the role of leaders and teams, highlighting that leaders must protect their organization's identity and values. Chapter 4 explores using stories to help manage stress by prioritizing what's important, not dwelling on the past, and being content with what you have. Chapter 5 examines how stories can develop emotional intelligence by increasing self-awareness and understanding other perspectives.
The document provides 5 tips for keeping thoughts positive throughout the day:
1. Be grateful for the good things in life like meaningful careers and relationships in order to rewrite your focus on positives rather than negatives.
2. Exercise regularly through activities like going to the gym, running, or yoga which has been proven to improve mood and build confidence.
3. Accept changes that are outside of your control and try to find solutions rather than viewing yourself as a victim of circumstances.
4. Acknowledge cognitive biases where past failures are perceived as threats even when none exist in order to break patterns of automatically assuming negative outcomes.
5. Challenge cognitive biases by analyzing thoughts through a rational lens instead of automatically
The document discusses 5 secrets of resilience. It begins by examining research on resilience and outlines an agenda to discuss the secrets and create a resilience plan. The 5 secrets are identified as flexibility, optimism, curiosity, uplifting emotions, and support. Flexibility involves recognizing one's perspective may not be accurate. Optimism focuses on controlling what is positive without denying negatives. Curiosity recognizes novelty and its pleasures/meanings. Uplifting emotions generate more positive emotions to broaden perspectives and boost resourcefulness. Support involves building positive, supportive relationships by reaching out to others. The document provides information and exercises to develop each of these secrets of resilience.
The document discusses how to solve problems using the concept of non-resistance. It advocates surrendering to non-resistance so that problems will reconcile themselves. It argues that problems are not caused by external situations, but rather by one's stuck energy. It suggests appreciating challenges without reacting to them, in order to gain perspective and streamline the path to success. Adopting non-resistance and being present-minded can transform challenges into blessings.

One of the cruelest aspects of our culture is the way failure is socially punished. A society that teaches you not to fail and never taking advantage of bad situations for turning them into successes, is a pessimistic and frustrated society. Steve Jobs, in his popular speech at Stanford University before thousands of graduate students, talked about how his losses became great opportunities for improvement; especially because it is in these situations where we realize who we really are, how strong we are and what we truly love (something that we really need to find.)
1. The workshop focused on identifying and promoting self-regulation skills in children to help them become resilient when facing stressors and challenges.
2. Self-regulation involves children learning skills from a young age to self-soothe and control their emotions, which allows them to better handle new experiences and difficulties.
3. For children to be resilient, parents can model behaviors like emotional regulation during stress, set firm limits, and teach coping skills like understanding what they can control and learning from mistakes.
This document discusses paradigms and proactive thinking. It begins by introducing Stephen Covey and his teachings on starting "inside-out" by examining one's paradigms, character, and motives. It then discusses how paradigms shape one's perceptions and can lead to paradigm shifts by seeing situations in new ways. The document advocates becoming proactive by choosing one's responses and focusing on problems within one's circle of influence rather than one's larger circle of concern over which one has less control. It encourages using "be" language focused on what one can control rather than "have" language focused on things outside one's control.
The document discusses the importance of having a positive attitude. It provides examples of how attitude can impact success and gives steps for developing a positive attitude, such as changing one's focus, developing gratitude, and continuous self-improvement. Maintaining discipline and optimism are also emphasized as being important for cultivating a positive outlook.

It also contrasts winners with losers and discusses the importance of discipline.
The document defines resilience as the ability to recover quickly from difficult situations. It notes that the current pandemic was unexpected and discusses how we must learn to expect and handle unexpected changes. The key to resilience is managing setbacks by moving forward, adapting to life's changes, and personal growth. Developing resilience involves maintaining a positive outlook, focusing on one's values and serving others, focusing on controllable factors, finding purpose, and relying on social support.

Talk for Wheelock College's Alumni Symposium March 2014. Talking about relationships, social media, and how to deal with difficult behaviors- from kids, partners, etc.
Samir David Mahecha Cuevas will present stories of impact, perseverance, and overcoming challenges in the face of adversity. The presentation will explore how resilience allows one to face obstacles and emerge stronger. It will also highlight how small individual efforts can create change through rippling effects, and how embracing change can foster growth. The stories aim to inspire the audience to find their inner strength and make a positive impact through connection with others.

This document discusses imposter syndrome and provides advice for dealing with its effects. It begins by defining imposter syndrome as a psychological pattern where individuals doubt their accomplishments and feel like frauds. It then explores the potential effects like self-sabotage, procrastination, and anxiety. Common causes proposed include the analytical nature of UX work, constantly needing to prove assumptions, and the field's relative newness. The document provides strategies for managing imposter syndrome with bosses, colleagues, and oneself by focusing on strengths, acknowledging weaknesses, embracing failure, and paying it forward through mentorship.
From IXDA17, UX Camp 17 - As design thinkers, we must focus on the process and not just the end goal. This presentation will address the benefits of creating environments that allow teams to take risks and fail; through this failure, they become more resilient, more realistic, and more accountable. In turn, their future work is more thoughtful and they have a greater ability to be nimble, collaborate, and pivot away from ineffective ideas.
The document discusses David Keirsey's view that understanding differences between people can help preserve those differences rather than seeking to change others. It advocates valuing diversity and respecting how people are unique rather than trying to make everyone conform to the same standard.
The document discusses various topics related to innovation, creativity, and organizational change. It provides quotes and stories on topics such as:
1) Applying existing knowledge in new ways is often the source of new ideas, not new information. Standing still is the fastest way to move backwards in a rapidly changing world.
2) Benchmarking is about using best practices to stimulate radical innovation, not just incremental improvements. Problems cannot be solved by thinking within the framework that created them.
3) Obstacles will always appear when taking your eye off the goal. No company can afford complacency in today's competitive world. The future depends on decisions made in the present.
The document discusses the impact of adversity on individuals and society. It argues that while adversity is often said to promote growth, it can actually negatively impact people's mental health and self-worth. An example given is how schools have counseling centers due to the number of students experiencing weakened mental states from issues they cannot overcome. The document concludes that adversity is more likely to hurt people personally and lessen their self-worth than help them.

Designing and Sustaining Large-Scale Value-Centered Agile Ecosystems (powered...Alexey Krivitsky
Is Agile dead? It depends on what you mean by 'Agile'. If you mean that the organizations are not getting the promised benefits because they were focusing too much on the team-level agile "ways of working" instead of systemic global improvements -- then we are in agreement. It is a misunderstanding of Agility that led us down a dead-end. At Org Topologies, we see bright sparks -- the signs of the 'second wave of Agile' as we call it. The emphasis is shifting towards both in-team and inter-team collaboration. Away from false dichotomies. Both: team autonomy and shared broad product ownership are required to sustain true result-oriented organizational agility. Org Topologies is a package offering a visual language plus thinking tools required to communicate org development direction and can be used to help design and then sustain org change aiming at higher organizational archetypes.

The Ready-Made Garments (RMG) industry in Bangladesh is a cornerstone of the economy, but increasing costs and stagnant productivity pose significant challenges to profitability. This study explores the implementation of Lean Management in the Sampling Section of RMG factories to enhance productivity. Drawing from a comprehensive literature review, theoretical framework, and action research methodology, the study identifies key areas for improvement and proposes solutions.
Through the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), the research identifies low productivity as the primary problem in the Sampling Section, with a PPH (Productivity per head) of only 4.0. Using Lean Management techniques such as 5S, Standardized work, PDCA/Kaizen, KANBAN, and Quick Changeover, the study addresses issues such as pre and post Quick Changeover (QCO) time, improper line balancing, and sudden plan changes.
The research employs regression analysis to test hypotheses, revealing a significant correlation between reducing QCO time and increasing productivity. With a regression equation of Y = -0.000501X + 6.72 and an R-squared value of 0.98, the study demonstrates a strong relationship between the independent variables (QCO downtime and improper line balancing downtime) and the dependent variable (productivity per head).
The findings suggest that by implementing Lean Management practices and addressing key productivity inhibitors, RMG factories can achieve substantial improvements in efficiency and profitability. The study provides valuable insights for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers seeking to enhance productivity in the RMG industry and similar manufacturing sectors.

Healthy economic development requires properly managing the banking industry of any
country. Along with state-owned banks, private banks play a critical role in the country's economy.
Managers in all types of banks now confront the same challenge: how to get the utmost output from
their employees. Therefore, Performance appraisal appears to be inevitable since it set the
standard for comparing actual performance to established objectives and recommending practical
solutions that help the organization achieve sustainable growth. Therefore, the purpose of this
research is to determine the effect of performance appraisal on employee motivation and retention.

reconoce.
c.- Presencia de descalificaciones.
d.- Sobre dimensionar los errores por sobre
los aciertos.
e.- Las personas se sienten "invisibles".
f.- Hay marginación de algunas personas.
g.- Las personas desconocen las normativas
de la organización.
h.- Las normas son arbitrarias.

Aspecto clave 10: impulso creativo e ingenio estratégico
PENSAMIENTO APRECIATIVO (Dr. David Cooperrider)
Nada es definitivo, nada se acepta como fijo, todo sistema se mantiene en constante
movimiento.
Apreciar es reconocer lo mejor de las personas, de las cosas, de las situaciones.
Apreciar quiere decir valorar.
Premisa: cualquier persona, por el hecho
de existir, es un ser valioso.
74. Problemas a

Imágenes
negativas
77. EL DIALOGO APRECIATIVO
Como hacerlo: 3 claves
1º NO PENSAR EN TERMINO DE AFIRMACIONES (es mejor una
duda nueva que una afirmación vieja)
2º NO PENSAR EN NO SIEMPRE QUE SE PUEDA PENSAR EN SÍ
