We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Resident Assistant Essay
1. Application Of A Resident Assistant Essay
In February of 2016, I applied and was selected to be a Resident Assistant in Newman Towers here at
Loyola for the 2016–17 academic year by the Office of Student Life. The Student Life office can be
seen as a meso–level social unit in that it is a medium scale department within the greater Loyola
community that consists of a status system, which is a set of statuses. These statuses, which are
positions in a social unit, are achieved, since they were attained out of one's own action, and formal,
since the expectations of each status exist independent of the person who fills the social status. In
accepting this position, I achieved the formal status of a Resident Assistant and became an employee
of Student Life.
In assuming a certain status, one also assumes all of the expectations, obligations, and rights,
associated with that position in the social unit. Another word for these expectations is a role. In
the Office of Student Life, each status, such as the Director, an Assistant Director (AD), a
Graduate Resident Coordinator (GRC), or a Resident Assistant (RA), comes with a specific role
set, which consists of multiple associated roles within a given status. The term "role" is short for
"role relationship" due to the fact that any role defines a set of expectations towards another role.
For example, the roles of Resident Assistant are part of the relationship between Resident Assistant
and residents. A set of role relationships that make up a social unit forms a role

In my senior year of high school, I became the student body Vice President and discovered what it
means to be an influential leader on campus. This experience exposed me to develop an array of
qualities that can be utilized in the role of being resident assistants (RA). I have gained insightful
knowledge of the intricate details necessary to be a productive leader who guides in an
encouraging and supportive way. A gift that I posses is my ability to organize creative and
innovative ways to build camaraderie among the people I serve. This is crucial and beneficial
because it ensures for a safe and welcoming environment where everyone feels confident to seek
assistance when needed. As a representative of this university and myself, I bring a dedicated
intensity about infusing change by vocalizing the wants, needs, and concerns of the students to make

Why do I want to become a part of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine's Doctoral Diversity

People have told me that I have a certain aura about me that people felt comfortable and felt at
ease. My sophomore year at Nevada I became a Resident Assistant and this aura that people felt
made it easy for me to connect with my residents and assist them in their struggles that they were
facing. Taking this job I had learned so much and had grown tremendously from it. Many people
think an RA to be the police of the residence hall but for me that was not the case. I wanted to help
the students get acclimated to the university and aid them in their times of need. I was not just
busting students for alcohol but I was trying to help them be safe. Student came to me for advice

I have always wanted to become a Resident mentor but I was always terrified of the title until now.

10. Resident Assistant Reflective Essay
On a crisp early morning in November I walked to my first class of the day, a student in a dark
green sweater ran past me, while I thought nothing of it what I did not know was that he had just
stabbed four people. I turned around as two officers in plain clothes chased him and I looked on
in confusion as the assailant was abruptly shot and killed. It is often easy to forget the everyday
emotions and feelings of the people around us, even more so when these sensations are recounted
on the evening news or a few sheets of paper on (of?) a patient's chart. In the weeks that followed
that unfortunate event, I searched for some meaning, some way to move on or possibly grow. I
found that I could appreciate the depth and significance of each person...show more content...
I had gotten to know Jon and his girlfriend "Dee" well in the past few months, and worry racked
through me when I heard them arguing loudly through our shared wall. I planned to let the
argument subside before approaching them until I heard Dee loudly demand that Jon get off her.
Almost instinctively, I stepped into the required role; I knocked on the door while recalling my
violence prevention training. They were reluctant to open the door, but I assured them I was there
because I cared about them both and wanted to ensure their safety. It was apparent that they were
both emotional, but after diffusing the situation, I let them know to come to me if they needed
anything. The next evening Jon and I had a long personal conversation, in which he told me of his
struggles maintaining his distance from the rough family environment of which he grew up. My
heart ached for him as I listened intently at stories I never would have imagined. Together we
created a plan for his future, including a visit to a campus counselor and a post–graduate plan to
maintain a healthy distance from the family environment that he considered toxic. I checked in with
Dee and Jon regularly, even after they graduated. In a roundabout way, it pushed me further into the
pursuit of a career as a physician. Similar to patient experiences, I learned the importance of being
responsive and open; qualities that allow others to share their untold stories that may be the key to

1.I learned about the Resident Assistant position by talking to my Resident Assistant's in Colter

The number one reason that prompted me to apply for this position is hearing all the Resident
Assistants talk about how many people they meet along the way. How much fun they all have and
just how it sounded like a really good job to get involved with the campus and meet a lot of new
people. The reason why I would like to become a Resident Assistant is because it would defiantly

"weirdo" in high school who just wanted a friend, I've been there for them. Nothing is more
painful to me than seeing a person being mistreated, under respected or neglected and I do all I
can to protect people from this. My goal is to make every person feel as if they have someone on

By living my life intentionally, I hope that others will follow suit. 4) Community Development
What is the importance of community? Please talk about your experience with working with diverse
groups of people and how you interact with others that are different from you in a community setting.
Community is the difference between being and belonging. It is just too easy to just be a part of a
group, but to feel like you belong to the group is far more meaningful. You can go to the meetings
and know everyone's names but none of that means anything if you don't feel that you are a
significant component in a group. To be a part of a community means that you are a part of group
where inclusion, support and friendship are highly–regarded. The beauty about community is that
everyone has their own gifts, talents, opinions and experiences to offer to it, therefore making each
member valuable. As a Resident Assistant, I intend to create an inclusive community in which each
person is accepted and encouraged regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual–orientation or ability.
By promoting diversity in my community, I hope that everyone gains a sense of belonging. In my
community, I will have an open mind and tolerant attitude and will encourage my residents to do the
same. Because understanding that no two residents are the same, I will conduct myself through
equity. I will try to learn about my residents individually so if

15. Good Resident Assistant Case Study
I feel as though a great resident assistant should be friendly, relatable, and helpful. A great RA
should be friendly, in that, they should be a friend to their residents. They should engage their
residents in fun activities and create a personal relationship with each of them. A great RA should
also be relatable, in that, they should find something in common with their residents and be able to
relate to situations and problems their residents may encounter. Lastly, a great RA should be helpful,
in that, they should make their residents feel safe and be able to resolve problems residents in their
hall may

16. Resident Assistant Application
As a graduating senior at the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in mathematics, I believe
that I have a wide variety of professional, personal, and education experiences that make me an
ideal candidate for the Budget Analyst (BA) position. I've been an Austinite my whole life, thus
leading to my deep pride in this wonderful city. I am committed keeping our city great while
serving the public. I am excited about the possibility of continuing this passion of making Austin
one of the best places to live as part of the budget office. In my previous position as a Research and
Statistics Tech at the Office of Inspector General, I partnered with professional accountants and
budget managers to create employee travel voucher. I used attention...show more content...
I've given numerous informational meetings to 40 plus residents, as well as sat on a panel for the
freshman students of my residence hall. I am responsible for making sure that all of my residents
are updated throughout the year with important information as it arises. Throughout my experience
as an RA, I've also developed skills in managing a budget. While small, I had an allotted amount of
money for each semester and had to allocate how to spend these funds on programming and events.
Budgeting like this allowed me to strengthen my skills in prioritizing events and cutting unnecessary
costs for such events. This experience has prepared me for this position by strengthening my
communication skills with my peers and supervisors, as well as allowing me to keep track of a
biannual budget. Together, these professional experiences have taught me accountability and
responsibility, attention to detail, teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to analyze and
audit. I feel that my professional and educational experience has provided me the skills necessary to
perform the Budget Analyst position, but also uniquely qualify me for this role. I would be
interested in the opportunity to speak with you about how my strengths and experience can be an
asset to the City of Austin. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to hearing from

17. My Experience As A Resident Assistant
Describe how you demonstrate a strong work ethic. As a Resident Assistant, it is my duty to assist
residents with personal, relational, social, cultural, emotional, and academic concerns while ensuring
confidentiality. Being an RA was challenging, yet very rewarding experience and has taught me so
many things. I am now a responsible, honest, and easy–going person who can bring diversity to
anywhere I am. Also, I have always taken pride in everything that I do. I always put my best effort
and complete the task to the best of my ability. Please provide some specific examples of your
willingness to "go above and beyond" in classes. I always seek out new challenges for myself so that
I can learn and grow as a person while helping others. Until my junior year in UAFS, I never led the
group for any projects. It took two years for me to finally take charge, simply because I was not
ready to become a leader. After two years of taking feedbacks, I finally started to take action. During
these four years, I learned that I wouldn't just be handed opportunities; I was going to have to work
hard to accomplish my goals. And this is the reason why, if I see any potential to grow, I will take all
the opportunities and chances I have. I had worked my way up to become a leader. Now, if I have
chance I always lead...show more content...
I was involved in the Japan club and had opportunities to share my culture with students who have
different perspectives from mine. I am the first international student at UAFS elected by the student
body as Vice President of the Student Government Association. I became a resident assistant in my
freshman year having failed my first–time application. Although the rejection was negative, it was
illuminating. I realized that I would not just be handed opportunities; I was going to have to work
hard to accomplish my goals. Discuss how you demonstrate values consistent with the College's

18. A Resident Assistant demonstrates peer leadership in a scholastic, social, and residential
environment. I am interested in the Resident Assistant position because of my desire to help others
and influence students to make proper choices. In high school, I was involved in various leadership
positions such as being the president of Student Government and Varsity Softball Team Captain.
Through these positons, I encountered experiences which aided in my development as a leader. In
Student Government, I was required to create, organize, and lead various programs throughout the
schoolyear. As Captain of the softball team, my responsibility was to be an example of good and
moral conduct; and to be a guide towards fair resolution when disagreements occurred. In
conclusion, I am a viable candidate because I've experienced and demonstrated my problem...show

Being involved groups is essential to everyday living and many of us will belong to a variety of
groups at the same time. For example, families, social, sports, support, learning management and
committees groups. A group is "a small, face–to–face collection of persons who interact to
accomplish some purpose" (Schriver, 1998). In other words, a group is collection of diverse people
with common characteristics or purpose. A group can consist of any number of people from any
number of races, ethnicities, culture, age, and or religious background. People involved in groups
interact, engage, support, and identify with each other and are aware of each other in the group,
often meet regularly at pre–determined destinations and times. The people involved...show more

The reason I say this is because they work hard to develop a safe living environment for the
students that attend Delaware State University. The Department of Housing and Residential
Education hire RAs, SRA's, and RD'S to help execute the plans for providing a health living
environment by giving each group a set of tasks. RA are tasked with the job to help the students on
a peer, and one–on–one level, assist them in their studies, and provide encouragement in the tasks
they want to accomplish, also as well help seek and provide resource for them to use on campus.
As and RD they are task with the job to provide a safe, health, problem free living information and
answer any question regarding the stability of the Resident Buildings. As for SRA's they serve as
the bridge between RA's and RD's to get any additional task done. The goal of Department of
Housing and Residential Education is standardize, health, safe living environment and that is the
