What is Narrative ?
Purpose
The basic purpose of narrative is to entertain, to gain and hold a readers' interest. However narratives can also be written to teach or inform, to change attitudes / social opinions eg soap operas and television dramas that are used to raise topical issues.
Narratives sequence people/characters in time and place but differ from recounts in that through the sequencing, the stories set up one or more problems, which must eventually find a way to be resolved. And To amuse/entertain the readers and to tell a story
Narrative text may be either fiction or non-fiction. Examples of fiction include realistic fiction, science fiction, mysteries, folk tales, fairy tales, and myths. Non-fiction is fact-based text such as reports, factual stories, and biographies. Certain types of questions are likely to be asked about narrative text.
Narrative text has five common components. Most test questions refer to one of these five story elements:
1. Setting – where or when the story takes place
2. Characters – people or animals in the story
3. Plot – sequence of events
4. Theme – central idea of the story
5. Vocabulary – words used to enrich understanding of the story

Dengan ditetapkannya Peraturan Menteri (Permen) 22 tahun 2006 tentang Standar Isi dan Peraturan Menteri (permen) 23 tentang Standar Kompetensi Lulusan (SKL) 2006 maka kuriku- lum 2004 yang sudah beberapa tahun di ujicobakan secara resmi diterapkan di sekolah-sekolah dengan berbagai revisi untuk penyempurnaan. Kedua dokumen itu hanya mengatur secara garis besar, sedangkan detail kurikulum akan dikembangkan sekolah, sehingga dikenal dengan nama Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP). Kurikulum ini mempunyai pendekatan yang sa- ma dengan kurikulum 2004, yaitu berbasis kompetensi. Penerapan Kurikulum Standar Isi dan Standar Kompetensi akan membawa konsekuensi yang berat dalam implementasinya di lapa- ngan. Berkaitan dengan pembelajaran Biologi, perubahan yang mendasar harus dilakukan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas.
Ada banyak kesalahan konsep yang selama ini berkembang dalam pengelolaan belajar Biologi (IPA) di dalam kelas. Kegiatan belajar Biologi berubah menjadi kegiatan mengajar Biologi. Dengan kegiatan mengajar, maka pusat kegiatan adalah guru. Sepanjang jam pelajaran harus memberikan ceramah dan siswa duduk memperhatikan. Dalam kegiatan belajar Biologi, siswa yang menjadi pusat kegiatan atau subyek belajar.

- 5. TORNADO A Tornado is a powerful,twisting wind storm.It is one of the Most destructive storms on earth. A Tornado is also called a Waterspout. A tornado is a long cloud which comes down from the sky. It is shaped like a funnel and consist of wind which whirls Around and around extremely fast.In fact the wind can reach Speed of more than 900 km per hour.
- 6. Most tornados form a long a front (boundary) Between cool,dry air and warm,humidair.Weather Scientist are unable to know exactly when Tornados will occur.Fortunately,the tornado is not Usually very big and it does not last long.
- 7. ELEPHANT The elephant is the largest and strongest of all animals. It is a strange looking animal with its thick legs,huge Sides and backs,large hanging ears,a small tail,little eye, Long white tusk and above all it has a long nose,and The trunk.

The elephant draws up water by its trunk and can squirt It all over its body like a shower tap.The elephant is a Very inteligentanimal.Itsinteligence combined with Its greathstrenght makes it a very useful servent to Man and it can be trained to serve in various ways such As carrying heavy loads,hunting for tigers and even Fighting in a war.

NATIONAL MONUMENT (MONAS) The National Monument (MONAS) is a 433 ft (132 meter) tower in the center of Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta,symbolizing the fight for Indonesia’s independence.Construction began in 1961 under the direction of President Sukarno and The monument was opened to the public in 1975. It is topped by a flame covered with gold foil.

The top of the National Monument(MONAS) is freedom Square.It stands for The people’s determination To achieve freedom and The crowning of their Efforts in the Proclamation Of independence in August 1945. The monument is topped by a 14,5 ton bronze flame of independence containing the lift engine.The base of the flame where the elevator door is located in 3 meter high and is in the shape of a goblet.The middle platform on top of the cawan (goblet) provides visitor with views of the surroundings frem a height of 17 meters.

MANGROVE A mangrove is a tropical marine tree.Mangrove have Special aerial roots and salt – filtering tap roots wich Enable them to thrive in brackish water.Brackish water Is salty but not as salty as sea water.Mangrove trees are Commonly planted and found in coastal areas.Mangroves Can serve as walls of protection for natural disaster in Coastal are like tsunami.

There are several species of mangrove tree Found all over the world.Some prefer more Salinity,while others like to be very close to a Large fresh water source such as river.Some Prefer areas that are sheltered from waves. Some species have their roots covered with Sea water every day during high tide. Other species grow on dry land but are still Part of the ecosystem.
