meets
Contents of the presentation
Here’s what you’ll find in this Slidesgo presentation:
1. Introduction.
2. Solar power.
3. Wind power.
4. Biomass.
5. Advantages and Disadvantages of Renewable energy.
6. Ideology.
7. Conclusion
Introduction
01
Introduction
1.Non-renewable fuels are fuels that cannot be
easily made or renewed. Examples: Oil, natural
gas, coal.
2.Renewable energy resources are naturally
occurring and are virtually inexhaustible. However
they are limited to the amount of energy available
at the time.
Solar Power
02
1.The sun can be used directly to produce the energy for
electricity.
2.It is used commonly to power small objects like
calculators.
3.To harness the energy on a large scale, you need Solar
Panels.
4.These are made from silicon solar cells.
5.They 1st were made in 1973.
6.Light hits the solar cell and the silicon absorbs it.
7.It releases electrons which flow as an electrical
charge.
8.However, it’s unreliable.
Wind Power
03
1.Air can be used to produce electricity.
2.When air is warmed up by the sun, it rises, leaving a gap
underneath.
3.Air around this gap rushes into the vacuum and we call this
movement wind.
4.You can use Wind Turbines with giant blades to catch the
wind.
5.The wind makes them turn around.
6.Wind tuns the propeller blades which drives the turbines and
the generator behind it.
7.This source of energy is not available all the time.
8.They cost a lot to make through.
Biomass
04
1.Biomass is any matter from any organism.
2.You can burn dead plant biomass like wood and plants.
3.Although you are using up that piece of biomass, you can
always plant some more trees and they will never be used
up.
4.This source is cheap though is produces smoke and
pollution.
5.This biomass is burnt and the heat energy produced is
used heat up water to produce steam.
6.This steam is forced through a turbine which drives a
generator to produce electricity.
Pros and Cons
05
Advantages:
1.Low pollution.
2.Will not run out.
3.Low running costs.
Disadvantages:
1.Costly to set up.
2.Noisy.
3.Low output.
4.Unreliable.
Ideology
06
1. Solar Water : Solar water also referred to as the solar desalination process,
converts seawater into freshwater. This process has the potential to provide for
populations that need clean water and remote areas seeking off-grid
desalination.
2. Solar Cars : Solar cars are not exactly new to the market. Since solar cars
contain zero emissions. Solar cars serve as a welcome solution to the number
of fossil fuels we use each year.
3. Wind energy is more cost effective, as the technology for generating energy
continues to improve and become more effective.
4. Wind energy can provide electricity to remote areas and create jobs in the
renewable energy sector.
5. Bio-bean : collecting used coffee grounds and recycling them into biofuels and
biochemicals. By recycling process, I gives it’s product, B20 biodiesel.
6. Biomass pellets : It can be used to generate power in a similar way to coal,
allowing existing coal power stations to be transformed to use renewable
bioenergy instead.
Conclusion
07
Conclusion of the presentation
Renewable technologies are considered as clean sources of
energy and optimal use of these resources decreases
environmental impacts, produces minimum secondary waste and
are sustainable based on the current and future economic and
social needs.
Thanks!
