Implementing virtual reality (VR) in elearning solutions allows us to change behaviors in ways that previously were seldom attainable. We believe in VR and we have the data to prove it.

Regatta Why Virtual Reality
1. One substantial capability of VR is the power to create empathy. Empathy is a bridge
into our user’s minds and our greatest asset as instructional designer. Empathy allows us
to engage the learner at a deeper level, put them in the shoes of the character, build a
realistic situation, and challenge their assumptions. Because of VR’s direct line to our
learners’ empathy, we can change behavior in a way that is impossible using traditional
training methods.
Empathy
Implementing Virtual Reality (VR) in
eLearning solutions allows us to change
behaviors in ways that, previously, were
seldom attainable. VR transports users
into worlds that allow for a new level of
immersion and visceral user experience.
Through sights, sounds, and even
emotions, we can generate authentic
context in a way that traditional
training cannot.
Why VR in eLearning?
You Have To See It To Believe It
2. But don’t take our word for it… An
Accenture survey determined that
80% of all executives believe VR is
important to close the physical gap.
In a recent Regatta project with one of the
world’s largest banks, 82% of the users agreed
that VR was a better way to learn than
traditional means, their call center
performance increased 9% in only one month
after taking VR customer service simulations.
Case Study
VR won’t supplant all traditional education methods,
but it will complement them. While traditional online
and classroom programs are effective at building base
knowledge and teaching processes (if designed well),
the VR environment is optimal for practice, simulation,
and sharpening the learner’s abilities. VR enables
them to experience real-life circumstances and make
decisions in a safe environment. VR is uniquely
effective for non-verbal communication. Sexual
misconduct and anti-bullying are prime, timely
examples. Violations and harassment are not always
verbal but rather behavior-oriented.

Module Believability / immersive nature of technology across all
ages: “ This amazing, it feels like teller school when I first joined the
company, where we would practice handling cash and making
transactions. It’s like this brings teller school to us. I would abso-
lutely do this again” ~67-year-old, client service associate, who takes
anxiety medicine
Behavior Change: “ I’m a FCM, but just started to go through the
process of being certified as a notary along with another associates.
The VR simulator allowed us to practice exactly what we were
supposed to do, so we didn’t have to think about it or guess”
~Financial center manager who tested the VR simulator
