Mr. Oscar Bandeira completed a 2-year assignment as an expert and resident engineer on the 1000MW Siah-Bishe Pumped Storage Project in Iran, which included two CFRD dams 90m and 100m high. Pöyry was the contractor's engineer responsible for design review, final design drawings, construction assistance, and as-built documents. Mr. Bandeira assisted the inexperienced contractor in constructing the face slabs of both dams, guiding work and issuing corrections to help with successful completion within schedule. Mr. Oscar Bandeira has completed his 2 years assignment as CFRD-Expert and resident engineer
on the Siah-Bishe Pumped Storage Project (Iran). The 1000MW project includes two CFRD-dams,
90m and 100m high.
Pöyry is involved as contractor's engineer responsible for the review of the design, the preparation
of the final design drawings, the assistance to the construction and the preparation of as-built
documents.
The dams are now completed.
The assignment of Mr. Oscar Machado Bandeira covers the entire construction of the face slabs of
both dams. His duty has been to assist a contractor totally inexperienced in CFRD-dam
construction.
Thanks to his vast experience, his expertise as dam-engineer and concrete specialist, Oscar's
contribution to the successful completion of both dams can be qualified as decisive. Both concrete
faces could be completed satisfactorily within schedule. Oscar deployed great and constant efforts
in guiding and inspecting the work, issuing necessary corrections and proposing good alternative
solutions for many issues. Oscar's talent for negotiating, explaining and convincing has been
essential for having the design properly implemented.
During the last two months of his assignment, Oscar prepared comprehensive as-built reports.
We are very thankful to Oscar for his great efforts, his loyalty and his commitment to the project
under unusually severe working conditions.
We wish Oscar all the best for his future activities hoping that we will have the pleasure having him
