Paul O'Sullivan is an outstanding student who will graduate top of his class with first class honours from the MSc Food Marketing program at University College Cork. As his lecturer and program director, Dr. Alan Collins worked closely with Paul and knows him to be highly intelligent, hard working, and capable of absorbing and synthesizing large amounts of information. As one of his Senior Lecturers and Programme Director for the MSc. (Food Marketing)
I have known Paul for the past year. During that period I worked closely with him
across a variety of taught modules and as his academic mentor for the duration of his
MSc dissertation. The MSc. class contains approximately 20 students so I have
become very familiar with each of them.
Paul is an outstanding student and will graduate top of his class with first class honours.
His result puts him in the top 5 percent of the programme’s graduates since its inception
in 2002. Paul is considered, intelligent and very hard working. He is capable of
absorbing huge amounts of information, critiquing and synthesising it, while applying
the learnings to new situations and challenges. He is highly motivated and requires
very little direction. He is very effective in teams where he typically brings the team
with him and as a consequence raises all boats.
Paul is held in very high regard by his lecturers, not just in terms of his academic
capabilities but as a fully engaged participant in class. Paul conveys a maturity that
earns immediate respect.
In short, I cannot recommend Paul highly enough. It was a privilege to have him in
class and he will be an outstanding ambassador for the MSc Food Marketing
Programme.
