The Fastest Way to Redis on Pivotal Cloud FoundryVMware Tanzu
What do developers choose when they need a fast performing datastore with a flexible data model? Hands-down, they choose Redis.
But, waiting for a Redis instance to be set up is not a favorite activity for many developers. This is why on-demand services for Redis have become popular. Developers can start building their applications with Redis right away. There is no fiddling around with installing, configuring, and operating the service.
Redis for Pivotal Cloud Foundry offers dedicated and pre-provisioned service plans for Cloud Foundry developers that work in any cloud. These plans are tailored for typical patterns such as application caching and providing an in-memory datastore. These cover the most common requirements for developers creating net new applications or who are replatforming existing Redis applications.
We'd like to invite you to a webinar discussing different ways to use Redis in cloud-native applications. We'll cover:
- Use cases and requirements for developers
- Alternative ways to access and manage Redis in the cloud
- Features and roadmap of Redis for Pivotal Cloud Foundry
- Quick demo

How to Meet Enhanced Data Security Requirements with Pivotal GreenplumVMware Tanzu
As enterprises seek to become more analytically driven, they face a balancing act: capitalizing on the proliferation of data throughout the company while simultaneously protecting sensitive data from loss, misuse, or unauthorized disclosure. However, increased regulation of data privacy is complicating how companies make data available to users.
Join Pivotal Data Engineer Alistair Turner for an interactive discussion about common vulnerabilities to data in motion and at rest. Alastair will discuss the controls available to Greenplum users—both natively and via Pivotal partner solutions—to protect sensitive data.
We'll cover the following topics:
- Security requirements and regulations like GDPR
- Common data security threat vectors
- Security strategy for Greenplum
- Native security features of Greenplum
Speakers: Alastair Turner, Data Engineer & Greg Chase, Business Development, Pivotal
Persistent storage for containerized applications
Linux containers are on course to change DevOps forever. Container technology will also impact how we think about persistent storage for applications and microservices.
In turn, software-defined storage will impact how storage is dynamically provisioned and managed for containerized applications. Using close integration with orchestration frameworks, such as Kubernetes and private Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) such as OpenShift, Red Hat® Storage extends the current limit of performance by providing seamless, enterprise-grade storage for critical applications in containers.

Peanut Butter and jelly: Mapping the deep Integration between Ceph and OpenStackSean Cohen
Ceph is the most widely deployed storage technology used with OpenStack, most often because it's an open source, massively scalable, unified software-defined storage solution. Its popularity is also due to its unique and optimized technical integration with the OpenStack services and its pure-software approach to scaling. In this session, we'll review how Ceph is integrated into Nova, Glance, Keystone, Cinder, and Manila and demonstrate why using traditional storage products won’t give you the full benefits of an elastic cloud infrastructure. We’ll also cover the flexible deployment options, available through Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform and Red Hat Ceph Storage, for seamless operations and key scenarios like disaster recovery. We'll discuss architectural options for deploying a multisite OpenStack cluster and cover the varying levels of maturity in the OpenStack services for configuring multisite. This session will also show how other technologies are using OpenStack Ceph to increase performance and reduce power consumption, such as Intel SSDs. This will include reference architectures and best practices for Ceph and SSDs.

A Tight Ship: How Containers and SDS Optimize the EnterpriseEric Kavanagh
The Briefing Room with Dez Blanchfield and Red Hat
Think of containers as the drones of modern computing. They're small, agile, and can carry a significant payload. In many ways, they represent the fruition of the last two major paradigm shifts in enterprise software: SOA and virtualization. However, for companies to fully leverage this innovative approach, a persistent storage platform is needed that is as flexible and scalable as containers themselves.
Register for this episode of The Briefing Room to hear Bloor Group Data Scientist Dez Blanchfield, who will explain the significance of container technology, and the relevance of software-defined storage (SDS) in a constantly evolving IT world. He'll be briefed by Steve Watt and Sayan Saha of Red Hat, who will demonstrate how open-source technology can help organizations take advantage of this brave new world of enterprise computing. They will explain how containers are the next step in the evolution of the operating system, and why SDS is now the optimal solution.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
