Intimate pockets cater for individuals, small, or large groups
– with tiling, furniture, timber screening and lighting, creating
a warm and inviting escape from the clinical surrounds. The fit-
out is designed to promote the Zouki brand – to be on par with
the quality of the food and drink offer.

Our client wished to create
a more inviting and intimate
space, feeling Café Baci
was often overlooked due
to a lack of seating options
and confusion around the
demarcation of the Cafe and
Crown’s other precincts.
Honeycomb shaped anodised
aluminium light-fittings were
custom designed to foster an
intimate dining experience,
and the striking herringbone-
patterned feature wall gives
the Café’s entry point more
prominence.

Crown Casino Melbourne VIC
Calatrava offer desserts and coffee with a special emphasis
on their delicious gelato. After operating in the Crown Casino
food court under a different name, our clients desired a new
brand, creating a more boutique offering and defining
a more classic, luxurious brand position.
After considering the project brief, Red Design Group took
to researching the Italian way of life with the aim of evoking
this romantic European feel and sense of nostalgia. We
studied the patisseries found in the grand central cities of
Italy, rich environments that combine coffee aromas with
the visual delights of cakes, biscuits, and gelato.

Northern Beaches Hospital

With a footprint of over
1000m2 the food precinct
for the Northern Beaches
Hospital in Sydney was one
of the biggest hospital
projects undertaken by
RED. The scope required a
benchmark food precinct
that catered to the public
as well as staff. A new
upmarket dining hall with
individual tenancies was
proposed, alongside an à
la carte restaurant, deli,
organic store, convenience
store and small cafes.

CASE STUDY 7 As part of the Indah Mall re-development RED were
engaged to provide the masterplanning and concept
design for a 30,000m2 food and beverage zone over
2 levels. Distinct areas such as the Food Hall with
Western style food offers and local food offers in the
Market Walk mixed with premium restaurant tenants

RED commenced the UNSW
Retail Masterplanning
project with an analysis of
retail and F&B competition
followed by an assessment
of the different retail zones
round the campus
This planning overview was
used to plan each retail
precinct in more detail.
Once the precinct
masterplan was approved,
RED designed the interior
for the refurbishment of the
below ground precinct. The
design concept extended to
the atrium and landscaped
gardens on ground level,
creating a multi-layered
dining experience with
indoor and outdoor seating.

Our client wished to create a more inviting and intimate space, feeling Café Baci was often overlooked due to a lack of seating options and confusion around the demarcation of the Cafe and Crown’s other precincts. Honeycomb shaped anodised aluminium light-fittings were custom designed to foster an intimate dining experience, and the striking herringbone- patterned feature wall gives the Café’s entry point more prominence. After operating in the Crown Casino food court under a different name, our clients desired a new brand, creating a more boutique offering and defining a more classic, luxurious brand position. After considering the project brief, Red Design Group took to researching the Italian way of life with the aim of evoking this romantic European feel and sense of nostalgia. We studied the patisseries found in the grand central cities of Italy, rich environments that combine coffee aromas with the visual delights of cakes, biscuits, and gelato. 9

RED commenced the UNSW Retail Masterplanning project with an analysis of retail and F&B competition followed by an assessment of the different retail zones round the campus This planning overview was used to plan each retail precinct in more detail. Once the precinct masterplan was approved, RED designed the interior for the refurbishment of the below ground precinct. The design concept extended to the atrium and landscaped gardens on ground level, creating a multi-layered dining experience with indoor and outdoor seating. The retail offer within Southern Cross Station has been reconfigured to meet the needs of the ever expanding number of customers who use the Station as a central hub. To meet this growing retail demand a master plan was developed with 3 new retail precincts divided into seven zones – offering an even broader range of products and services and opening up new opportunities for retailers who wanted to cash in on this growth opportunity.
