The Hive is a groundbreaking interim property management operator that
reinvigorates empty buildings and provides affordable workspace for start-
ups, creatives, and entrepreneurs.
Working closely with local authorities, corporate sponsors and private
landlords The Hive is set up to be a ‘win-win’ situation for all parties.
By taking on buildings that are between usages The Hive covers all the
costs and breathing fresh life back into a building filling it with young
talented people.
Currently operating out of a 28’000 square foot building in the heart of
Hackney Wick,The Hive have produced a tried and tested model for
success.
4. THE HIVE MODEL
The Hive model works symbiotically as the
landlord, local community and independent
start-up businesses all prosper from the
arrangement.
A landlord can lease out their property for a
short period of time (1-2 years) safe in the
knowledge that the building is secure, and
turning a profit at the same time.

Our flagship venue is a multi-use creative hub housing over 30
independent start ups. Each business feeds into one another
creating many symbiotic relationships within the complex.
The building is broken down into different department areas, these
include, an artist studio programme, digital lab, metal and wood
workshop, onsite bar-bistro, flexible events space and open office
hot desk space.
7. Studios
The studio programme caters for crafts people and fabricators from
various sectors. Please see an example of some of our current
tenants including costumiers, 3D printers and fashion designers.

Events Space
The event space is multifaceted space which is used both for
tenants to showcase their work and is hired out to externals as an
additional revenue stream. The Swan Wharf events space has
hosted, the BBC, MTV, Diesel, Converse, The Barbican and many
others…..

refurbishment and investment in order
to adapt the space.
