How did you attract/address your target

Target Audience

Target Audience
Our target audience is males of all ages and females
from 15-25. This audience was obtained via our
questionnaire.
We used various code and conventions among several
other aspects to attract/address our target audience;

Setting

We used a modern and perhaps stylish police station
as the focal point to our product. The police stations
modern and stylish traits will entice our target
audience ultimately attracting them.
Characters

• Policeman
The policeman is portrayed to some degree as young
(20’s); this will allow our product to become more
relatable to the older subdivision of our target audience.
• Criminals
The individuals within the criminal organization (only
viewed via images) embrace several stereotypical
features (tattoos, suits etc.); the stereotypes will
ultimately allow our product to be of a better standard
product ultimately attracting our audience.
Plot
Our plot (a race against time between the police force and a criminal
organization) embraces numerous codes and conventions of the
thriller genre.

Media
As social networking is extremely popular amongst amongst our
target audience, (with 98% of 18-24 years olds using social media,
spending on average 15 hours and 33 minuets every month) we
therefore found it appropriate if we advertised on Facebook and
Twitter. The social media websites will provide a great deal of
exposure to our target audience. We have additionally advertised via
popular radio stations (Capital FM and Kiss100); radio stations will
ultimately allow us to advertise to a mass market. We have also used
popular magazines (primarily aimed at a male audience ) ‘Men's
Health’ and Cosmopolitan’.

We have composed competitions for a free tickets , ‘meet an actor’
experience and tickets to the premier within the promotional mediums.
The Thriller genre

The genre of the film also has a direct influence
whether or not people choose to watch the film or
not. As genres have dedicated fans that may simply
watch because it is of their favourite genre. The
thriller genre is one of the most popular which means
that it has many fans that could be willing to watch
the film if we address them correctly.
