I’m writing this letter to recommend Rachel Knowles for consideration for a position with
your organization.
I was fortunate enough to have Rachel serve as my intern for several months this year. She
was wonderful to work with and showed poise and professionalism in every task she took
on. The time she was with us was particularly busy for our department as we celebrated
our 30th anniversary and prepared for several major fundraising events.
Her duties included:
• Interviewing wish families
• researching and writing stories for our online and print publications
• drafting news releases
• organizing news clips for our executives and donors
• updating our website (www.illinos.wish.org)
I have supervised many interns, and Rachel stands out among them. She was diligent in
completing all tasks efficiently and in a timely manner. I always felt confident in knowing
that she would complete her work to the highest standards.
Make-A-Wish Illinois grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to
enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish has granted more
than 13,000 wishes in Illinois since 1985.
