Rebuttal Essay Topics
Writing a rebuttal essay can be a challenging task that requires a combination of critical thinking,
research skills, and persuasive writing. The difficulty lies in the need to carefully analyze an
existing argument or viewpoint and construct a compelling counterargument. To effectively rebut
a position, one must thoroughly understand the opposing perspective, identify its strengths and
weaknesses, and then craft a well-reasoned response.
One of the primary challenges is the necessity to maintain a balanced tone while presenting a
contrary viewpoint. Striking the right balance between assertiveness and respect for the opposing
argument is crucial. It requires a nuanced approach to avoid coming across as confrontational or
dismissive.
Additionally, thorough research is essential. A successful rebuttal essay relies on accurate and
up-to-date information to strengthen the counterargument. This often involves diving into
various sources, examining evidence, and critically evaluating the validity of claims made by the
opposing side.
Structuring the essay appropriately is another aspect that contributes to the difficulty. The
rebuttal should be organized logically, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs that address
specific points, and a compelling conclusion. Transitioning smoothly between different
arguments and maintaining coherence throughout the essay is a skill that requires practice and
refinement.
Furthermore, honing one's writing skills is vital for effectively conveying complex ideas in a clear
and concise manner. Crafting a persuasive rebuttal involves not only presenting compelling
arguments but also doing so in a way that is easy for the reader to follow and understand.
In conclusion, writing a rebuttal essay demands a combination of critical thinking, research, and
persuasive writing skills. Successfully addressing an opposing viewpoint while maintaining a
respectful and well-organized approach is no small feat. However, with dedication and practice,
individuals can enhance their ability to construct compelling rebuttal essays.

College Essay On Self Identity
Self Identity
Everyone has more than one face, they may fail to realize it but others around
them do notice. I have many faces for many different reasons and for many
different people, I have one for my family, one for my friends, one for my
employer, and one for just about any other specific group of people. I used to not
notice until I was called out on it by one of my cousins; she exclaimed that way I
act around my non relative friends was not the way I acted around them and that
made her upset. Ever since that incident I have been fully aware of the way I act,
however not much has changed. Around my parents I act in a way that is intended
to meet their expectations, I ll speak to them respectfully and politely and do
whatever they ask me to do. This way I can keep them happy, there have been
instances where humor is involved and the way we communicate can become a
little odd at the end of the day it remains the same with my parents. Like I said

It is taking a whole different person perspective to a new level. My friends and I all
have one thing in common; we all play fighting games competitevely and are
deeply involved in the FGC (fighting game community) this is what makes new
person to those who have yet to see this face. The community has its own culture,
lingo, and inside jokes that we all partake in whether they are appropriate or not.
When I attend tournaments with my friends we engage in the culture the FGC has
to offer, words I would say to them when we play I would never say to any other
human being that isn t involved in some way with the FGC. We nonchalantaly call
each other names and other insults when we play, we yell and get extremely excited
over uncanny occurences that might happen in game. The polite person my parents
see is also a person who will yell and get exicited around other

Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus
Home Burial poem is from Jupiter.
I analyzed communications and the relationship factors from the poem, Home Burial,
in light of the guide for improving communications and relationships Men Are from
Mars, Women Are from Venus. In the poem Home Burial, characters do not
understand one another because of a lack of communication. I found plenty of
techniques and ideas that the couple in Frost s Home Burial, could have used from
the book Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus to strengthen their marriage
.
Throughout the poem Home Burial the characters did not have a clear awareness of
their differences because they did not know that men and women are like from
different planets. John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
/ Will rot the best birch fence a man can build (Lines 92 93). These two lines clearly
represent men s position towards empathy. If the wife in the poem knew that, A man
s sense of self is defined through his ability to achieve results (Gray 16), she would
have understood her husband s behavior.
In chapter three of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus,
John Gray indicates that Men become increasingly focused and withdrawn while
women become increasingly overwhelmed and emotionally involved. At these times,
a man s needs for feeling good are different from a woman s. He feels better by
solving problems while she feels better by talking about problem (Gray 29). This
conjecture totally relates to characters in Home Burial ; for example,
the husband says, What is it you see, / I will find out now you must tell me, dear,
(Lines 10, 12) which states problem solving technique from a man s side. The wife
answers, The wonder is I didn t see at once. / I never noticed it from here before. / I
must be wonted to it that s the reason (Lines 21 23) showing the wife s overwhelming
and emotionally involving period in her relationship with her husband. Solving these
problems for the characters in the poem would Depend on understanding the opposite
sex (Gray 30). If the characters knew the differences in coping with stress they would
do something about their relationship.

My dad left my mom the responsibility of two very young girls. That has probably
been the biggest impact on my life, because everyone tells me they are a daddy s
girl and their dad bought them this and that. My dad was in and out of jail while he
was gone. Then when I was eight everything sorta changed my dad called us and
got in contact. We didn t live with them or go over at all but he would always come
to visit me. Months passed and we were going there every other weekend. Things
were going really good for us, my mom and dad were getting along and stopped
arguing, my dad had remarried and so had my mom. We were all a big happy
family, or so we thought... Things started to get bad again and my parents got into
a big fight, things were said, things were done, and no one had gotten over it. Now
again my dad is gone. No calls. No message. He just does not care i guess by this
time he has two kids and does not need his three others. You could only imagine how
heartbroken and torn daddy s little girl could be at this
Human Trafficking Is The Illegal Movement Of People
The topic I would like to discuss in my term report is the topic of Human
Trafficking. By definition; human trafficking is the illegal movement of people,
typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. The
main reason I chose this topic is because of a story I read recently about a woman
named Nadia Murad, who was taken from her home in Iraq and sold to men as a
sex slave. This topic is interesting because it is unfathomable to me not only that
there is still a market for this, but this market is still prospering. Although we lack
quantitative data for it since it is part of the world s underground economyi.e. the
Black Market, there have been attempts to analyze this shadow economy. I also find it
hard to understand why there is still a market for human traffickingsince productivity
flourishes when humans have a freedom of choice and there is a clear economic
gain. I would think that this type of crime would interfere with economic growth on
a national and even international level since humans clearly have no freedom in this
sort of market. Nonetheless Human trafficking is said to be the fastest growing
source of income for organized crime and its third most important, exceeded only by
drugs and arms trade (as cited in Mahmoud, Trebesch, 2010) Since there is so little
data for human trafficking, this paper pursues an analysis of the economics of human
trafficking alongside labor migration in several different regions. Mahmoud and

Health Science Career Cluster
The next personality test I took was the career clusters. Career clusters are
organizational tools that link education with business and industry through sixteen
broad based areas. The top three clusters I got was health science, human services,
and education and training. Health science careers covers all aspects of the
medical field (Hinders). For example, a veterinarian. The next cluster is was called
human services, which refers to jobs with the purpose of helping families meet
basic human needs. This category has jobs like a social worker or a psychologist
(Hinders). The final cluster my results told me was education and training. This
cluster is for patient people who enjoy helping others (Hinders). Some possible
jobs include preschool and elementary teacher. I agree with all of these results and
could see myself doing any of the job examples given from each cluster. The next
career I researched was a veterinarian. A veterinarian has to do many things.

Another job similar to a veterinarian is a veterinary assistant. They support animal
doctors and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining
equipment, feeding, exercising and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing
surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and clerical and administrative
work (Zoologists and Wildlife Biologists). You just need a high school diploma to
start, but only make $23,000 a year. A third job that is similar is a zoo keeper and
they are responsible for taking care of the animals in a zoo. I would do this as a side
job because it only makes $28,000, but I feel that I would really enjoy this job
because I love animals (Zoologists and Wildlife

Factory conditions in 1900s

about the horrible working conditions. How they paid them and how of a small and
disgusting places they had to live. the machines that created numbers and numbers
of products at a time were very often extremely dangerous. They were kept in small
rooms and often did not have ventilation. Not having the ventilation made it so an
enormous amount of toxins are released into the small room that they were in.They
would also make it really hot with all the toxins. So it made it extremely dangerous
for a factory of workers. The machines claimed over 500,000 lives in 1900. working

would just slowly get more and more in debt. Which would put all the workers in
poverty. as the factories grew the wages got lower and lower. As the wages get
lower the demand for children gets higher. So many children were forced to work
for their families. In 1900 there were over 1.1 million children under the age of 15
working for the factories to support their family, in America. Kids working in these

Evolution Depends on Both Inheritance and Selection
Evolution depends on both inheritance and selection (Arnold, 1994). Heritable traits
having some advantage to an organism must be passed on from one generation to the
next. As a result, the organisms that have inherited these traits will be better suited
for survival in a specific environment. In other words, the ability for an individual to
survive is not enough to fuel evolutionary progression there must be reproduction
taking place as well (Figure 1).
Animal species that reproduce sexually have developed mating systems that allow
them to produce the most successful offspring possible. To produce successful
offspring, individuals choose a mate based on the characteristics that will be passed
on to their young. Mating systems have developed by organisms learning to
recognize which potential mates possess traits that would be beneficial to future
generations. Individuals chose their mates based on many factors, two of the most
important ones being the physical characteristics and territorial acquisitions of the
potential mates (Vehrencamp and Bradbury 1984). Both of these factors that
influence mate choice are examples of sexual selection existing in nature. The theory
of sexual selection revolves around the assumption that some members of a species
are born with a genetic makeup that allows them to have a mating advantage over
other members of that species. This mating advantage comes from the individual
possessing traits that are more desirable by the opposite sex, as far
Taking a Look at Mobile Risk Management
It is a category of technology that is emerging to empower companies so to
recognize, mitigate and manage the risks that are associated with mobile devices.
Mobile Risk management is way beyond traditional management of mobile device
where they were primarily working on control tactics and on risk avoidance.
The MRM is done to allow their full potential of mobility to exercise while ensuring
regulatory compliance and protecting corporate data. In order to achieve accurate
balance among risk mitigation, compliance assurance and device management and
simultaneously maximizing utility of device and user acceptance that would require
an integrated and thoughtful approach towards MRM.
Need for MRM
There is being observed a mass proliferation of heterogeneous deployment of
Android, Windows, iOS and Blackberry and other platforms as well connected
mobile devices that have started to become a norm. This is also being embraced by
organizations that is bring your own device (BYOD) trend on the other side the
tablets and smartphone are increasingly becoming a center or say hub for personal
and business data. And with the upcoming and already established technologies such
as Bluetooth, NFC and others where machine to machine interaction is at its peak and
mobile devices have started to become wallets and security badges and more.
These new opportunities are very much significant and the trend that was explained
above, BYOD all these can lead to a real cost savers for the companies.

Transportation from the ghettos and occupied Europe was arranged to bring the Jews
to concentration or deaths camps. Women and children on the Birkenau arrival
platform known as the “ramp.†As shown above the carriage trains that
brought the Jews from the ghettos where very compact and where in fact built for
cattle, hundreds of people would be crammed into a tiny space for hours on end
with no food or water, forced to stand amongst their own faeces. Some Greek Jews
actually paid to travel on the cattle trains, this is proof that they truly believed that
they where being resettled. When they finally arrived at their concentration or
death camp they where immediately selected as those fit to work and those who
should die, firstly the women and children on one side then the men on the other,
then they would be split up into those who will live and those who will die. Jews

reunited with their families, of course they where never seen again. Those who
where chosen to live had to work and soon found out that they would be working
continually for years of their lives. Death
The Handmaid s Tale Essays
The Handmaid s Tale
The Handmaids Tale, written by Margaret Attwood, goes on to explore the
consequences that come to be from the reversal of womens rights in a society
called Gilead. It is what one can consider a cautionary tale. In the new world of
Gilead, a group of conservative religious extremists have taken power, and have
turned the sexual revolution upside down. The society of Gilead is founded on what
is to be considered a return to traditional values, gender roles and the subjugation of
women by men, and the Bible is used as the guiding principle. It differs completely
from the society, which was once the place in which Feminists argued for liberation
from the traditional gender roles. What women had worked hard for in the ... Show

This ritual clearly shows how Offred is given no freedom and is instructed in
everything that she does. Along with her impersonal sex, Offred is limited in her
contact to the outside world. She is only allowed to leave the home in order to go on
shopping trips with the other handmaids, and when she is out in public, she along
with the other handmaids, are watched by the Eyes. The Eyes are the secret police

Offred narrates by describing her daily routine, in which she talks about her new

which she had an affair with a married man by the name of Luke. As their affair

Anaerobic Respiration In Sports Drinks
Sports drinks are used to rehydrate athletes during and after exercise. However, the
efficiency of these electrolyte drinks has been questioned.
During respiration glucose from food is added to oxygen to form ATP,C02, and
H20. During exercise, glucose and oxygen are used at a much faster rate due to
increased muscle contractions. There are two types of respiration; aerobic and
anaerobic. During aerobic respiration, glucose is added to oxygen to produce
CO2,H20, and 38 ATP molecules. However, during high intensity exercise, the
oxygen supply is less than the demand. Because of this, anaerobic respiration takes
over. This type of respiration can occur without oxygen, however ,it only produces 2
ATP molecules in comparison to 38. In addition... Show more content on

Before exercise, the cell and its surroundings are in an isotonic state. This means that
there is the same amount of water and molecules on both sides of the membrane.
During exercise, water is lost at a faster rate through perspiration. Therefore, the cell
goes into a hypotonic state, which means that the water rushes into the cell via
osmosis; the movement of water from an area of high to low concentration. The
majority of sports drinks are isotonic. Some scientists argue that the isotonic state of
sports drinks renders them ineffective in regards to cellular hydration. It has been
argued that because water isn t entering the cell during an isotonic state, performance
is impaired due to improper cellular hydration. It should be noted that sports drink
consumption after exercise is detrimental. After exercise, glucose demand slows
down. When the supply of glucose from sports drinks is greater than the demand,it is
eventually converted to fat via lipogenesis. In addition to the negative effects of
sports drinks, it is also important to take into consideration, the fact that glucose
/electrolyte requirements and sport drink ingredients will vary. Therefore, while one
sports drink could improve performance for one person, it could be ineffective for
someone else. Also, sport drinks are likely innefective for aerobic (cardio based)

What Does Christian Faith Mean To Me
What does my Christian faith mean to me? Faith is a gift from God. Faith means I
won t go to hell when I die. We were God s perfect creation. Being the loving God he
is he gave us free will. We abused that free will and fell into sin. God loved us so
much he sent his own son Jesus (who is also God) down to earth, Jesuswas willingly
tortured and slaughtered by the people he came to save, dragged the sins of the
world into the pits of hell and rose again so that everyone can go to heaven and be
Gods children if they have faith. Jesus didn t stop there. He stayed and taught people
for 40 days, promised that the the Holy Spirit (who is also God) would come and
then ascended into heaven. 10 days later the Holy Spirit came on Pentecost.
Chaucer s Influences

Chaucer s Influence Through Writing Geoffrey Chaucer wrote multiple books, but
his most famous writing is the Canterbury Tales . In the Canterbury Tales , Chaucer
wrote about pilgrims going on a pilgrimage to the Canterbury cathedral. The pilgrims
were very diverse, ranging from monks and nuns to doctors and knights. Each pilgrim
had a tale to tell while traveling to the cathedral, and through these tales, Chaucer
identified multiple problems that were common during his era. Chaucer was a very
harsh critic, but hid it behind comical sarcasm. People say Chaucer even made an
influence on a few things through his writing. Chaucer was influential on women s

Chaucer used the Wife of Bath s tale to explain the flaws in marriage, and many
problems for women. The wife of bath was someone people could connect with and
was considered, An outspoken champion of her sex against the traditional
antifeminism of the church, initiates a series of tales about sex, marriage, and
nobility ( Chaucer, Geoffrey, par.10). Stating how the wife of bath was the
character that Chaucer used to influence multiple things, including marriage. In the
Canterbury Tales there are multiple cases of love, including cases in which
seduction is involved. One person summed up these events as, After the Knight s
courtly and philosophical romance about noble love, the Miller interrupts with a
deliciously bawdy story of seduction aimed at the Reeve; the Reeve takes revenge
with a tale about the seduction of a miller s wife and daughter. ( Chaucer, Geoffrey,
par. 10). The summary shows how women were used for mainly sex, and if their
virginity was taken before they were married, they were looked down upon. Chaucer
made it clear he disliked the way marriage worked, and influenced people through his
characters
Examples Of Skateboarding Injury Liability
Skateboarding Injury Liability: Who is Responsible? The long haired Dogtown
and Z Boy skaters of the 70 s and 80 s have become grown up travelers and they are
backsliding their decks on crowded streets and throughways. This phenomenon may
have aroused your interest in what constitutes liability for those on skateboards.
Additionally, what would this mean in terms of skateboards being the alleged cause
of injury and who can be ultimately be sued in the event of a skateboard crash? Like
almost any other type of accident, the liability for an injury resulting from a
skateboard crash would be considered under the umbrella of the law of negligence.
The concept of negligence contains four distinct constituent parts which must be

The obligation of care would, strictly speaking, be demonstrating the carefulness
and attention that any reasonably conscientious skater would show in the same or
similar situation. Well, what does that actually mean? An explanatory example
may help to understand. If the skateboarder you intend to sue did a back fade Ollie
(a somewhat tricky skating maneuver) while navigating a crowded sidewalk at the
peak of rush hour. A maneuver of that type is most certainly unreasonable, from the
standard of a normal rider, and likely to be considered a breach of the duty of care
owed by someone who is behaving in a fundamentally responsible manner.
Consequently, two of the four components of negligence are met. Following thaty,
one would have to demonstrate clearly that the defendant skateboarder s actions
indeed caused your injury and that, in addition, there were no unforeseeable
intervening circumstances that would mitigate the responsibility. In other words,
the skater may argue that a car was coming in his direction in such a manner that it
was necessary to force the move to the sidewalk. One could argue plausibly that
was indeed a foreseeable event although foreseeable does not necessarily negate
causation. But if, say, a garbage truck going the wrong way down the street is what
prompts the skater to perform a back fade Ollie onto your legs, then causation is not
as clear (although, you could potentially name the truck driver in the suit as

My ideal job is to become a registered nurse. I like the idea of becoming a nurse
because it means I get to do one of my favorite things which is help people. The
world will always need nurses and doctors so with a nursing degree I will always

this I, must continue going to school and start focusing on classes that will help me

hospital or something so I can get a feel on what it s like to be an actual nurse.

The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov
Anton Chekhov, like Henrik Ibsen, is considered a prominent writer on culture
and society. Chekhov s works are noteworthy, in part, because of the lives they
portray. In The Cherry Orchard, he writes of a world shackled by a caste system,
and he exposes the need for reform. As the title states, the play is set in a cherry
orchard. The play revolves around an aristocratic family and other minor characters,
but the problem is the family is broke. Chekhov uses the symbolic characters
memories as a way to portray the servant , the aristocracy, merchant, and the
intelligentsia classes, four of the main cast of russian society during the early 1900s.
Madame Ranevsky declares, You people ought to go and see plays; you ought to
try to see yourselves; to see what dull life you lead, and how much too much you
talk. (22) She is referring to how she went to see a play and how it reflected her
family and the minor characters. This quote is significant because this is embodiment
of what The Cherry Orchard tries to achieve. Chekhov accomplishes this, using
memory as a motif, to delve further into the symbolic characters and their
representation of the four main characters experiences, life struggles, and
interactions with other classes in Russian society in the early 1900s. The use of Firs
memories lends the reader a sense of the lost generation. Servants before the
Liberation are named the lost generation because they never experienced life beyond
servitude. Firs says, I ve been

Examples Of Trends And Trends In Restaurants
INTRODUCTION
A task commissioned to observe and analyze trends and existing problems globally in
any restaurant industry. Then I have to choose one restaurant and interview with
manager of this entity about the three main issues in his restaurant. After this, I
should offer suggestions, which can come up with proper solutions to these concerns.
TRENDS AND ISSUES IN ANY F B ENTITIES Many people are willing to run the
restaurant business, and the number of individuals is very high. According to the
latest statistics, 60% of restaurants fail within their first 3 years of operations. In
addition, other facts signpost that the figure may be about 90%.
Through extensive market investigation and by talking with the struggling restaurant
manager, I have come up with top trends and with the reasons why restaurants fail.
Restaurants do more than feed us. They make our lives easier. They connect us with
our family, friends and colleagues. Restaurants introduce us the new variety of meal
selections. They excite us with the new trends and keep us coming back for more.

and service. Managing a customer s expectations is an essantial part of running a
restaurant and consistently providing the same quality product ultimately can
determine the success or failure of your restaurant. This does not mean that it has
to be a great product, just it has to be the same product every time. It should not
matter which chef or waiter is working on any given day. Customer experience
should be the same each time they come in. According to Mr. Sarvar Azimov the
manager of restaurants the meal can be good today and dissapointed next time or the

Analysis Of Phaedo By Socrates
In Phaedo by Plato, Socrates gives an account of what Beauty is. Socrates states if
there is anything beautiful besides the Beautiful itself, it is beautiful for no other
reason than that it shares in that Beautiful (Phaedo 100c). From this statement, one
can assume that Socrates believes in one true Beautiful, just as he believes in one
true Good that are included in the one true Knowledge. To find true Knowledge the
body and soul must be separated which can be inferred that true Knowledge and it s
full understanding will only happen after death. Socratesbelieved that you could only
accept true Knowledge of the Beautiful by reason alone, since the soul is reason. The
reason behind the soul is critical, reflective and it is what we have
The Importance of Geography to Chinese History
For thousands of years, Chinese culture thrived and grew to become it s own
superpower, and for many years this was unknown to the rest of the world. Great
geographic influences included the treacherous mountain ranges, such as the
Himalayas, and the prosperous river valleys, such as the Yangtze and the Huang he.
Lack of cultural diffusion is primarily due to the fact that China, for hundreds of
years, had little to no outside contact or cultural diffusion with other civilizations of
that time. The culprit behind this lack of interaction is primarily China s many
mountain ranges. These massive mountains, such as the Himalayas, provided for a
dangerous and unkind terrain, and therefore trade and most contact with others was
inhibited ( Himalayas ). Despite the lack of outside influence, China and it s people
were actually quite prosperous. One aid in their economic prosperity was their
agricultural produce and domestic trade. China s agricultural society was actually a
thriving one mainly due to their fertile land, which is do to their river valleys. These
rivers, such as the Yangtze and the Huang he rivers, deposited silt known as loess,
onto the soil that was full of nutrients, and the land then became fertile (Perkins 4).
These rivers not only expanded upon the agricultural output, but they also created an
easy route for transportation and trade throughout the empire ( Yangtze River). These
simple aspects of the Chinese culture in retrospect, played some of the most
Melting Stereotypes
The metaphor that I grew up with saying that we are all the big melting pot in the
United States, however, with the implication listed beside that term I would
honestly have to say I disagree with that statement or reference. The United States is
more like a kaleidoscope, since I believe that many cultures are brought within the
society, and the society as well as the groups adapt to fit the needs of those
individuals cultures as well the society as a whole. Instead of treating people
differently than ourselves we embrace their cultureand try to understand or gain
information regarding those individuals, to be able to relate to them and ensure that
we do not offend those with beliefs that may not directly line up with the society.

Living From The World Of Warcraft
Living in the World of Warcraft
The Rookery is a section of Upper Blackrock Spire that, back in 2005, was
notoriously easy to screw up. The room is littered with dragon eggs. Touching an
egg causes it to hatch. There are dragons within the Rookery that intentionally
hatch eggs as part of an event called Father Flame. If a players group broke one egg,
it was likely to break more and in ones group s panic to kill the whelps it hatched,
things would get a little chaotic and inevitably a group would break more.
The Rookery could be done with no problems at all, but it took either experience or

The rise of WoW to the top of the video gameindustry showed us that living in a
virtual world is not so different from living in the real world. one can perform many
of the same tasks in life that one can in WoW (barring the monster fighting, flying,

FedEx s Value Chain Activity
Introduction In this paper, I will analysis FedEx s value chain activity, its generic
strategy, resources and capabilities, corporate level strategy, global strategy, and some
recommendation that I have for FedEx.
History
FedEx started at Little Rock, Arkansas, with the founder Frederick Smith s ambition
to improve the distribution system by adding next day package delivery. Over years,
FedEx has developed into multi billion dollars corporation and provide services in
express, ground, freight, and etc. Today, FedEx Corporation has four major
segments: FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Freight, and FedEx Office.
FedEx Express is the world s largest express transportation company that provides
overnight delivery services for most of its operating locations. FedEx Ground
segment is a leading small package carrier in the US that ship goods for businesses
and residential customers. Freight segment provides less than truckload freight
services. FedEx Office and Print Services offer customers sales, marketing, and
other information technology services. Currently, FedEx has about 52,400 drop
off locations, 647 aircraft and 54,100 vehicles. In 2013 fiscal year, FedEx reported
$21.8 billion in revenue, and over 2 billion in operating income. The revenue has
increased at 10.9% in 2011, 8.9% in 2012, and 4.5% in 2013. ( FedEx 2013 Annual

Speed limit signs are on nearly every street throughout the United States. Some
range from thirty miles per hour to seventy based on the location. Being a new
driver, this may appear like a difficult responsibility to follow the speed limit.
Along the side of the road, the signs stand tall with black and white color ways
with a very bold font. Simply adjust the speed of the vehicle based on the speed
limit in the designated location. Sometimes, due to hazards and weather, vehicles
may be required to continue at a lower speed than posted. Vehicle operators must
follow specific laws within individual states for speed if there isn t a designated
speed limit sign posted. Following the speed limit is a must, and as a new driver this
should be deemed as a very important task while driving.
In conclusion, driving a vehicle is a tremendous responsibility and can cause
serious harm if used improperly. Hazards on and off the road develops through all
times of the day, and drivers should always be ready to face danger. Drivers must
rely on each other to follow the rules and regulations of the road to have a safe trip
to their destination. As a new driver, always follow every rule presented and use extra
caution when entering major roadways. Following these instructions would assist in
lowering the risk included with driving. At the same time, buckle up, it s the
Samurai In Japan Essay
One of the most belligerent and successful samurai warlords, Takeda Shingen, grew
up and reigned over the prefecture where I met my wife 400 years later. The
Sengoku Warring State, 1467 to 1603, was not, as aficionados assume, a world of
lasting honor. Loyalties exchanged like yen coins. Ambitious warlords allowed
family members to be kidnapped, and murdering young innocents was commonplace.
An entire ruling clan, the Taira, was dispatched when rival children, spared rather
than extinguished, grew and enacted revenge, finishing off Taira youths. My entry
into Japan was accident. I rolled dice on a job teaching English in a Japanese village

understand the motivation for such disorder whether its biological or environmental.
There are several developmental theories that have different prospective that can be
useful in understanding Autism, ADHD and ODD. For example, Pavlov, Skinner,

Language and Identity Are Inextricably Linked. How Is
This...
There are many indicators of identity by which we are made known individually,
socially and culturally; the best of these would be language and how it has shown
great flexibility in accommodating the needs of people. Through language people
have been able to establish their identities and cultivate friendships with others who
share the same common ground. By looking at accents such as Broad Australian
English, slang and phonological features as they apply to Australian varieties, we can
see how it has forged solidarity and assisted in creating an identity on an individual

Identity is formed through the mutual trends of a group through slang and is used
as identification for users who have these lexical features in common. The
shortening of the lexeme whatever to whatevz or the reduplication and shortening
of crazy to cray cray are words that have appealed to young Australian teenagers.
Through use of diminutives, identity can be further formed as they are uniquely
Australian, where lexemes are shortened to a syllable and the suffix of ie, y or o is
added like smoko for smoking, devo for devastated and bottle o for a liquor store.
The use of slang like this enhances our identity and care free nature that helps us
understand phrases like I m devo that brekky at Maccas is done . This way slang
builds certain characteristics that are known to Australians in the same way
phonological features have.
A recent phonological development in Australian English displays a difference
between younger and older generations through the High Rising Terminal (HRT)
which is a rising intonation contour on declarative clauses. The intonation pattern is
considered a distinctive feature of Australian English and shows how speakers carry
themselves as a person. HRT is used primarily by the younger demographics in
Australia, in particular female speakers and has been criticised often, deeming it as a
marker of insecurity. However as researchers now point out,
How Did The Spanish Civil War Affect Spain
The Spanish Civil War left the country with enormous economic problems. Foreign
exchange had been wiped out, especially with the outbreak of WWII, which
rendered supplies unavailable (Prados de La Escosura, RosГ©s y Sanz Villarroya
3) Even after WWII, aid was inexistent because of the cost of the war. Neighboring
European countries were not keen on including them in a recovery program either,
due to the Nationalist victory in the Civil War. Thus, for about a decade after the
Civil War, Spains economy was still in severe depression (Solsten).
Moreover, Franco s regime promoted economic autonomy within the country. With
no prospect of recovery, inflation increased. Spain s GNP was 60% below what
was considered the average for a West European country immediately after the war
(Solsten). As a result of the recession, international trade was blocked, not only by
Franco s doctrine, but also because of the rest of European countries reluctance to
participate in Spanish economy (Lee 248) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Occupational therapists help children make of sensory experiences involving sights,
smells, touch, sounds, tastes and movement. Children with learning disabilities or

sensory stimulation. The ability of these children to process sensory information may
impacted by either hypersensitivity or hyposensitivity to stimulation. Many children
who engage in problematic behaviors or anti social tendencies may actually be

Wallace, Gamelyn And Robin Hood Analysis
The stories of Wallace, Gamelyn, and Robin Hood are medieval legends written by
Maurice Keen in The Outlaws of Medieval Legend. Keen depicts the popular legends
of medieval heroes who became outlaws during the thirteenth to fifteen centuries. He
also defines the term outlaw, which is, a person who puts himself outside the
protection of the law. What their attitudes and why were these outlawsworshiped as
heroes? The reason varies in each story. Keen maintains the main theme of outlawry.
Wallace, Gamelyn, and Robin Hoodall have negative attitudes toward both secular
and religious authorities, as they fight against tyrants and oppression to become
heroes of medieval people.
The first outlaw legend of Wallace shows that he had attitudes of racial hatred
toward the English and different opinions with Scottish aristocracies, but there is
no sufficient evidence of his action against religious people. Wallace was a
patriotic warrior and a leader of the Scottish rebellion that sought independence
from English tyranny. Keen (2000) claims Scottish people suffered the behaviors
and barbaric actions of English soldiers (p. 66). With Wallace, the sheriff of Lanark
murdered his beloved lady, Marion Bradfute, and this unreasonable cruel toward
innocent people ignited his anger and hatred. He killed the sheriff of Lanark and
became an outlaw afterward. Wallace disagreed with Scottish aristocracies, who held
lands in England, to compromise with the conqueror Edward I. However, Wallace

1939 Compare And Contrast
I prefer the 1939 film adaption of The Hound of the Baskervilles better than the
2002 film adaptation because it is more appropriate, and sticks to the novel. The
1939 film adaptation was less violent and definitely less gory. I personally don t
think that violence and gore are necessary in order to get the point across. The 1939
filmadaptation, featuring Basil Rathbone as Holmes, was more suspenseful than the
2002 television movie. I feel like the definition scary of movies nowadays is because
they have a lot of violence and gore. In the classical movie era, scary was suspenseful
(Alfred Hitchcock, Bogie and Bacall). In the late sixties, the rating system
developed. That signified the end of classical movies and the introduction to the
new and improved (not) movie. Rotten Tomatoes, the biggest movie base rates
almost all movies from 0 100. The 1939 film adaptation has an 100% on Rotten
Tomatoes. Other films with an 100% include, All About Eve, (Bette Davis, Celeste
Holm) The Band Wagon, (Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse) and Silk Stockings (Fred
Astaire, Cyd Charisse). To give that some perspective, The Hunger Games has an
84%, The Hobbit has a 59%, Harry Potter has a 91%. Notice as a pattern, the older
a movie gets, the higher the rating. The Princess Bride has a 97%. I guess my point
is that the older movies are more appropriate. The 1939 adaptation is Not Rated.
That means there is no need for it to be rated. There is no bad material. So you
would be like, The 2002 movie would be G. Right? Not! It is a television movie so
it has no Rotten Tomatoes rating, but it is rated 15 in England.... Show more content

Justice For The Beaten Down Victims Of Murder
Justice For The Beaten Down Victims of Murder
Every 9 seconds in the United States a woman is assaulted or beaten (National
Coalition Against Domestic Violence). With that statistic there are roughly 9,600
chances every single day in just the United States alone that a woman could be
killed at the hands of her abuser. At what point in killing an abusive husband in
self defense cross the line and become murder worthy of punishment? Is it after
you finally shoot your alcoholic, abusive husband to death because he choked you
for the 2nd time in a week while you were holding your 7 month old son, and your
4 year old daughter witnessed the entire horrific altercation? How different my life
could have been after May 17, 2014 if I had defended myself to the point where I
took the life of a coward who abuses women. When classifying self defense where a
battered woman kills her abuser by acting out of fear for her own life, the
background evidence needs to be more heavily evaluated because at times what
cannot always be legally proven as self defense is the only way out of the nightmare.
For cases where a battered woman has suffered severe psychological and physical
abuse at the hands of her husband, she becomes so mentally broken and beaten
down that she feels as if she is at fault somehow and at worst she even deserves the
abuse. Most often the first question many people ask is why doesn t she just leave
him . Yet the real questions should be WHY is he still abusing her and

Rebuttal Essay Topics

  • 1. Rebuttal Essay Topics Writing a rebuttal essay can be a challenging task that requires a combination of critical thinking, research skills, and persuasive writing. The difficulty lies in the need to carefully analyze an existing argument or viewpoint and construct a compelling counterargument. To effectively rebut a position, one must thoroughly understand the opposing perspective, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and then craft a well-reasoned response. One of the primary challenges is the necessity to maintain a balanced tone while presenting a contrary viewpoint. Striking the right balance between assertiveness and respect for the opposing argument is crucial. It requires a nuanced approach to avoid coming across as confrontational or dismissive. Additionally, thorough research is essential. A successful rebuttal essay relies on accurate and up-to-date information to strengthen the counterargument. This often involves diving into various sources, examining evidence, and critically evaluating the validity of claims made by the opposing side. Structuring the essay appropriately is another aspect that contributes to the difficulty. The rebuttal should be organized logically, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs that address specific points, and a compelling conclusion. Transitioning smoothly between different arguments and maintaining coherence throughout the essay is a skill that requires practice and refinement. Furthermore, honing one's writing skills is vital for effectively conveying complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. Crafting a persuasive rebuttal involves not only presenting compelling arguments but also doing so in a way that is easy for the reader to follow and understand. In conclusion, writing a rebuttal essay demands a combination of critical thinking, research, and persuasive writing skills. Successfully addressing an opposing viewpoint while maintaining a respectful and well-organized approach is no small feat. However, with dedication and practice, individuals can enhance their ability to construct compelling rebuttal essays. For those seeking assistance in crafting such essays or exploring similar topics, resources like HelpWriting.net can provide valuable support. I have many faces for many different reasons and for many different people, I have one for my family, one for my friends, one for my employer, and one for just about any other specific group of people. I used to not notice until I was called out on it by one of my cousins; she exclaimed that way I act around my non relative friends was not the way I acted around them and that made her upset. Ever since that incident I have been fully aware of the way I act, however not much has changed. Around my parents I act in a way that is intended to meet their expectations, I ll speak to them respectfully and politely and do whatever they ask me to do. This way I can keep them happy, there have been instances where humor is involved and the way we communicate can become a little odd at the end of the day it remains the same with my parents. I analyzed communications and the relationship factors from the poem, Home Burial, in light of the guide for improving communications and relationships Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus. In the poem Home Burial, characters do not understand one another because of a lack of communication. I found plenty of techniques and ideas that the couple in Frost s Home Burial, could have used from the book Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus to strengthen their marriage . Throughout the poem Home Burial the characters did not have a clear awareness of their differences because they did not know that men and women are like from different planets. John ... If the wife in the poem knew that, A man s sense of self is defined through his ability to achieve results (Gray 16), she would have understood her husband s behavior. In chapter three of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, John Gray indicates that Men become increasingly focused and withdrawn while women become increasingly overwhelmed and emotionally involved. At these times, a man s needs for feeling good are different from a woman s. He feels better by solving problems while she feels better by talking about problem (Gray 29). This conjecture totally relates to characters in Home Burial ; for example, the husband says, What is it you see, / I will find out now you must tell me, dear, (Lines 10, 12) which states problem solving technique from a man s side. The wife answers, The wonder is I didn t see at once. / I never noticed it from here before. / I must be wonted to it that s the reason (Lines 21 23) showing the wife s overwhelming and emotionally involving period in her relationship with her husband. Solving these problems for the characters in the poem would Depend on understanding the opposite sex (Gray 30). If the characters knew the differences in coping with stress they would do something about their relationship. The

  • 5. Human Trafficking Is The Illegal Movement Of People The topic I would like to discuss in my term report is the topic of Human Trafficking. By definition; human trafficking is the illegal movement of people, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. The main reason I chose this topic is because of a story I read recently about a woman named Nadia Murad, who was taken from her home in Iraq and sold to men as a sex slave. This topic is interesting because it is unfathomable to me not only that there is still a market for this, but this market is still prospering. Although we lack quantitative data for it since it is part of the world s underground economyi.e. the Black Market, there have been attempts to analyze this shadow economy. I also find it hard to understand why there is still a market for human traffickingsince productivity flourishes when humans have a freedom of choice and there is a clear economic gain. I would think that this type of crime would interfere with economic growth on a national and even international level since humans clearly have no freedom in this sort of market. Nonetheless Human trafficking is said to be the fastest growing source of income for organized crime and its third most important, exceeded only by drugs and arms trade (as cited in Mahmoud, Trebesch, 2010) Since there is so little data for human trafficking, this paper pursues an analysis of the economics of human trafficking alongside labor migration in several different regions. Mahmoud and Trebesch
  • 6. Health Science Career Cluster The next personality test I took was the career clusters. Career clusters are organizational tools that link education with business and industry through sixteen broad based areas. The top three clusters I got was health science, human services, and education and training. Health science careers covers all aspects of the medical field (Hinders). For example, a veterinarian. The next cluster is was called human services, which refers to jobs with the purpose of helping families meet basic human needs. This category has jobs like a social worker or a psychologist (Hinders). The final cluster my results told me was education and training. This cluster is for patient people who enjoy helping others (Hinders). Some possible jobs include preschool and elementary teacher. I agree with all of these results and could see myself doing any of the job examples given from each cluster. The next career I researched was a veterinarian. A veterinarian has to do many things. How they paid them and how of a small and disgusting places they had to live. the machines that created numbers and numbers of products at a time were very often extremely dangerous. They were kept in small rooms and often did not have ventilation. So it made it extremely dangerous for a factory of workers. The machines claimed over 500,000 lives in 1900. working in factories you had to work extremely long hrs. • 9. Evolution Depends on Both Inheritance and Selection Evolution depends on both inheritance and selection (Arnold, 1994). Heritable traits having some advantage to an organism must be passed on from one generation to the next. As a result, the organisms that have inherited these traits will be better suited for survival in a specific environment. In other words, the ability for an individual to survive is not enough to fuel evolutionary progression there must be reproduction taking place as well (Figure 1). Animal species that reproduce sexually have developed mating systems that allow them to produce the most successful offspring possible. To produce successful offspring, individuals choose a mate based on the characteristics that will be passed on to their young. Mating systems have developed by organisms learning to recognize which potential mates possess traits that would be beneficial to future generations. Individuals chose their mates based on many factors, two of the most important ones being the physical characteristics and territorial acquisitions of the potential mates (Vehrencamp and Bradbury 1984). Both of these factors that influence mate choice are examples of sexual selection existing in nature. The theory of sexual selection revolves around the assumption that some members of a species are born with a genetic makeup that allows them to have a mating advantage over other members of that species. This mating advantage comes from the individual possessing traits that are more desirable by the opposite sex, as far

It is what one can consider a cautionary tale. In the new world of Gilead, a group of conservative religious extremists have taken power, and have turned the sexual revolution upside down. The society of Gilead is founded on what is to be considered a return to traditional values, gender roles and the subjugation of women by men, and the Bible is used as the guiding principle. • 14. Anaerobic Respiration In Sports Drinks Sports drinks are used to rehydrate athletes during and after exercise. However, the efficiency of these electrolyte drinks has been questioned. During respiration glucose from food is added to oxygen to form ATP,C02, and H20. During exercise, glucose and oxygen are used at a much faster rate due to increased muscle contractions. There are two types of respiration; aerobic and anaerobic. During aerobic respiration, glucose is added to oxygen to produce CO2,H20, and 38 ATP molecules. However, during high intensity exercise, the oxygen supply is less than the demand. Because of this, anaerobic respiration takes over. This type of respiration can occur without oxygen, however ,it only produces 2 ATP molecules in comparison to 38. In addition... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before exercise, the cell and its surroundings are in an isotonic state. This means that there is the same amount of water and molecules on both sides of the membrane. During exercise, water is lost at a faster rate through perspiration. Therefore, the cell goes into a hypotonic state, which means that the water rushes into the cell via osmosis; the movement of water from an area of high to low concentration. The majority of sports drinks are isotonic. Some scientists argue that the isotonic state of sports drinks renders them ineffective in regards to cellular hydration. It has been argued that because water isn t entering the cell during an isotonic state, performance is impaired due to improper cellular hydration. It should be noted that sports drink consumption after exercise is detrimental. After exercise, glucose demand slows down. When the supply of glucose from sports drinks is greater than the demand,it is eventually converted to fat via lipogenesis. In addition to the negative effects of sports drinks, it is also important to take into consideration, the fact that glucose /electrolyte requirements and sport drink ingredients will vary. Therefore, while one sports drink could improve performance for one person, it could be ineffective for someone else. Also, sport drinks are likely innefective for aerobic (cardio based) excercises that

In the Canterbury Tales , Chaucer wrote about pilgrims going on a pilgrimage to the Canterbury cathedral. The pilgrims were very diverse, ranging from monks and nuns to doctors and knights. Each pilgrim had a tale to tell while traveling to the cathedral, and through these tales, Chaucer identified multiple problems that were common during his era. The obligation of care would, strictly speaking, be demonstrating the carefulness and attention that any reasonably conscientious skater would show in the same or similar situation. Well, what does that actually mean? An explanatory example may help to understand. If the skateboarder you intend to sue did a back fade Ollie (a somewhat tricky skating maneuver) while navigating a crowded sidewalk at the peak of rush hour. A maneuver of that type is most certainly unreasonable, from the standard of a normal rider, and likely to be considered a breach of the duty of care owed by someone who is behaving in a fundamentally responsible manner. Consequently, two of the four components of negligence are met. Following thaty, one would have to demonstrate clearly that the defendant skateboarder s actions indeed caused your injury and that, in addition, there were no unforeseeable intervening circumstances that would mitigate the responsibility. In other words, the skater may argue that a car was coming in his direction in such a manner that it was necessary to force the move to the sidewalk. One could argue plausibly that was indeed a foreseeable event although foreseeable does not necessarily negate causation. But if, say, a garbage truck going the wrong way down the street is what prompts the skater to perform a back fade Ollie onto your legs, then causation is not as clear (although, you could potentially name the truck driver in the suit as

  • 20. The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov Anton Chekhov, like Henrik Ibsen, is considered a prominent writer on culture and society. Chekhov s works are noteworthy, in part, because of the lives they portray. In The Cherry Orchard, he writes of a world shackled by a caste system, and he exposes the need for reform. As the title states, the play is set in a cherry orchard. The play revolves around an aristocratic family and other minor characters, but the problem is the family is broke. Chekhov uses the symbolic characters memories as a way to portray the servant , the aristocracy, merchant, and the intelligentsia classes, four of the main cast of russian society during the early 1900s. Madame Ranevsky declares, You people ought to go and see plays; you ought to try to see yourselves; to see what dull life you lead, and how much too much you talk. (22) She is referring to how she went to see a play and how it reflected her family and the minor characters. This quote is significant because this is embodiment of what The Cherry Orchard tries to achieve. Chekhov accomplishes this, using memory as a motif, to delve further into the symbolic characters and their representation of the four main characters experiences, life struggles, and interactions with other classes in Russian society in the early 1900s. The use of Firs memories lends the reader a sense of the lost generation. Servants before the Liberation are named the lost generation because they never experienced life beyond servitude. The Importance of Geography to Chinese History For thousands of years, Chinese culture thrived and grew to become it s own superpower, and for many years this was unknown to the rest of the world. Great geographic influences included the treacherous mountain ranges, such as the Himalayas, and the prosperous river valleys, such as the Yangtze and the Huang he. Lack of cultural diffusion is primarily due to the fact that China, for hundreds of years, had little to no outside contact or cultural diffusion with other civilizations of that time. The culprit behind this lack of interaction is primarily China s many mountain ranges. These massive mountains, such as the Himalayas, provided for a dangerous and unkind terrain, and therefore trade and most contact with others was inhibited ( Himalayas ). Despite the lack of outside influence, China and it s people were actually quite prosperous. One aid in their economic prosperity was their agricultural produce and domestic trade. China s agricultural society was actually a thriving one mainly due to their fertile land, which is do to their river valleys. These rivers, such as the Yangtze and the Huang he rivers, deposited silt known as loess, onto the soil that was full of nutrients, and the land then became fertile (Perkins 4). These rivers not only expanded upon the agricultural output, but they also created an easy route for transportation and trade throughout the empire ( Yangtze River). The Sengoku Warring State, 1467 to 1603, was not, as aficionados assume, a world of lasting honor. Loyalties exchanged like yen coins. Ambitious warlords allowed family members to be kidnapped, and murdering young innocents was commonplace. An entire ruling clan, the Taira, was dispatched when rival children, spared rather than extinguished, grew and enacted revenge, finishing off Taira youths. My entry into Japan was accident. There are many indicators of identity by which we are made known individually, socially and culturally; the best of these would be language and how it has shown great flexibility in accommodating the needs of people. Through language people have been able to establish their identities and cultivate friendships with others who share the same common ground. By looking at accents such as Broad Australian English, slang and phonological features as they apply to Australian varieties, we can see how it has forged solidarity and assisted in creating an identity on an individual and national scale. Identity is formed through the mutual trends of a group through slang and is used as identification for users who have these lexical features in common. The shortening of the lexeme whatever to whatevz or the reduplication and shortening of crazy to cray cray are words that have appealed to young Australian teenagers. Through use of diminutives, identity can be further formed as they are uniquely Australian, where lexemes are shortened to a syllable and the suffix of ie, y or o is added like smoko for smoking, devo for devastated and bottle o for a liquor store. The use of slang like this enhances our identity and care free nature that helps us understand phrases like I m devo that brekky at Maccas is done . This way slang builds certain characteristics that are known to Australians in the same way phonological features have. A recent phonological development in Australian English displays a difference between younger and older generations through the High Rising Terminal (HRT) which is a rising intonation contour on declarative clauses. The intonation pattern is considered a distinctive feature of Australian English and shows how speakers carry themselves as a person. HRT is used primarily by the younger demographics in Australia, in particular female speakers and has been criticised often, deeming it as a marker of insecurity. However as researchers now point out,

  • 38. Wallace, Gamelyn And Robin Hood Analysis The stories of Wallace, Gamelyn, and Robin Hood are medieval legends written by Maurice Keen in The Outlaws of Medieval Legend. Keen depicts the popular legends of medieval heroes who became outlaws during the thirteenth to fifteen centuries. He also defines the term outlaw, which is, a person who puts himself outside the protection of the law. What their attitudes and why were these outlawsworshiped as heroes? The reason varies in each story. Keen maintains the main theme of outlawry. Wallace, Gamelyn, and Robin Hoodall have negative attitudes toward both secular and religious authorities, as they fight against tyrants and oppression to become heroes of medieval people. The first outlaw legend of Wallace shows that he had attitudes of racial hatred toward the English and different opinions with Scottish aristocracies, but there is no sufficient evidence of his action against religious people. Wallace was a patriotic warrior and a leader of the Scottish rebellion that sought independence from English tyranny. Keen (2000) claims Scottish people suffered the behaviors and barbaric actions of English soldiers (p. 66). With Wallace, the sheriff of Lanark murdered his beloved lady, Marion Bradfute, and this unreasonable cruel toward innocent people ignited his anger and hatred. He killed the sheriff of Lanark and became an outlaw afterward. Wallace disagreed with Scottish aristocracies, who held lands in England, to compromise with the conqueror Edward I. However, Wallace

  • 43. 1939 Compare And Contrast I prefer the 1939 film adaption of The Hound of the Baskervilles better than the 2002 film adaptation because it is more appropriate, and sticks to the novel. The 1939 film adaptation was less violent and definitely less gory. I personally don t think that violence and gore are necessary in order to get the point across. The 1939 filmadaptation, featuring Basil Rathbone as Holmes, was more suspenseful than the 2002 television movie. I feel like the definition scary of movies nowadays is because they have a lot of violence and gore. In the classical movie era, scary was suspenseful (Alfred Hitchcock, Bogie and Bacall). In the late sixties, the rating system developed. That signified the end of classical movies and the introduction to the new and improved (not) movie. Rotten Tomatoes, the biggest movie base rates almost all movies from 0 100. The 1939 film adaptation has an 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Other films with an 100% include, All About Eve, (Bette Davis, Celeste Holm) The Band Wagon, (Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse) and Silk Stockings (Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse). To give that some perspective, The Hunger Games has an 84%, The Hobbit has a 59%, Harry Potter has a 91%. Notice as a pattern, the older a movie gets, the higher the rating. The Princess Bride has a 97%. I guess my point is that the older movies are more appropriate. The 1939 adaptation is Not Rated. That means there is no need for it to be rated. There is no bad material. So you would be like, The 2002 movie would be G. Right? Not! It is a television movie so it has no Rotten Tomatoes rating, but it is rated 15 in England.... For cases where a battered woman has suffered severe psychological and physical abuse at the hands of her husband, she becomes so mentally broken and beaten down that she feels as if she is at fault somehow and at worst she even deserves the abuse. Most often the first question many people ask is why doesn t she just leave him . Yet the real questions should be WHY is he still abusing her and
