A Brief Note On The Mountains And Nuclear Waste
Yucca Mountains and Nuclear waste Native people have been around the Americas since before the
Europeans came. Then the natives land began to shrink. Now in today s society, they have the
lowest population amongst groups. Most native people use the land for growing goods like fruits
and vegetables to tobacco. With the possibility of a nuclear waste site in Yucca Mountains, it could
threaten the fertility of their land. Environmental racism is the inequality in the form of racism
linked with environmental factors and practices that cause disproportionate distress on minority
communities (Knowledge Encyclopedia). The Yucca mountain project is environmental racism to
the surrounding natives. To get across my point, the following... Show more content on

The proposed plan was to make tunnels through the Yucca Mountains. In 2010, President Barack
Obama stopped the Yucca Mountains license review. He wanted a study commission to recommend
a new policy for the long term management of nuclear and radioactive waste (NEI). The president
is looking out for the natives in some sense, but as you will see later in my paper, that is not true.
Since 2010, the site has been abandoned because of the legal battles going on and no waste has
been put there (ICTMN Staff). With the site for now not operational, there is still a chance that it
could have waste in it soon. In Environmental Racism Behind Plan to Store Nuke Waste Under
Yucca Mountain: Tribes, it talks about how there was a proposal to store nuclear waste in the
Yucca Mountains was shut down by Obama in 2010 has now been revived. The Western
Shoshone and Timbisha Shoshone people were not happy about it. They called it environmental
racism . It goes on and talks about how the Nuclear Regulator commission (NRC) released a report
on how the proposal would impact the environment. The article continues to talk about how some
of the waste could leak into the groundwater, which would affect the purity of spring s natives and
surrounding people use (ICTMN Staff). The idea that it could be revived is a high risk situation to
them. The Western Shoshone and Timbisha Shoshone tribes are just a few of the tribes that would

Problems With Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina was a devastating category 5 that made landfall in Buras, Louisiana, on
Monday, August, 25, 2005. It was downgraded to a level 4 hurricane when it made landfall. This
hurricane was extremely devastating for the city of New Orleans 2004 (Haddow, Bullock,
Coppola, 2014 p17). This hurricane was so overwhelming that it crippled local government
which ceased to exist immediately after the disaster. The main problem with FEMA at the was
President George W. Bush. This was less that four years after 911 and a majority of its resources
were applied to terrorism 2004 (Haddow, Bullock, Coppola, 2014 p20). FEMA was focused on
another 911 attack and was not prepared as should have been to handle natural disasters. Hurricane

I believe that the largest problem with FEMA and other emergency management agencies in the
United States is with its leadership. FEMA s leadership and direction fall upon the whim of the
United States President. The problem is that they place someone as director in the office with little
to no disaster management skills. These directors would maintain their role until they failed
miserably at the next major disaster. The government must realize that this is a service of
government that cannot be taken lightly that we are constant threat of natural disasters and that
when local or state government cannot provide then it becomes the responsivity of the United
States Government. The person who is chosen to lead this office must have the skills and
experience to deploy resources of the government into communities that need it the most with
affected by disaster. Given the importance of this role the leader must have been granted the
authority by our government to override other bureaucratic agencies especially when responding to

Business Logistics And Logistics Of Ups
Business logistics
Introduction
The firm that would be assessed throughout this paper when referring to the topic of business
logistics is UPS. It is a well known courier service which operates in almost every nation in the
world. UPS is known for its quality services such as speedy delivery, best maintenance of cargo,
and the providence of a wide variety of tools that helps the customers in various different prospects,
such as tracking order. This paper would specifically emphasize upon the operations management
and logistics of UPS alongside performing a SWOT analysis of the firm. Finally, some suggestions
will be provided which may help the firm in performing better overall business logistics and
operations management.
1 Critically evaluate the existing process flows in the operations management and logistics with
reference to a literature review on logistics theories.
Let s first have a look at the notion of logistics and then relate it with the operations management of
a courier service such as UPS. Logistics is the deemed as the actionable process of transporting and
temporarily storing different supplies. The category to which a company can efficiently and
effectively do these mentioned duties can differentiate its overall place in itsrelative industry. These
mentioned tasks related to transfer procedures are often a subset of the greatersystem of supply
chain management. This system tends to track items and information among various categories of

How Did Pearl Harbor Change America After Ww2
America before World War Two In the 1930s the United States was suffering from the economic
downturn of the Great Depression. As a result of this inward focus, the citizens of the United
States had no desire to become involved in foreign wars; therefore, the policy of isolationism was
very popular in society ( American Isolationism in the 1930s ).
World War Two Begins
World War 2 started 1939 and ended 1945 and during the war there were two groups fighting each
other the allies and the axis powers. The allies included Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New
Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, China and the United States of America. The axis powers
included Germany, Italy and Japan ( World War II 1939 1945).
Pearl Harbor Changes American Opinion on the War
After the surprise attack by japan on Pearl Harbor the American attitude changed completely. Fear
brushed across the country as a result there was a sense of patriotism that provoked a desire to
battle japan. Afraid of another sneak attack from the pacific Americans soon saw that war with
japan was certain ( How America Changed after Pearl Harbor ).

Israel s Unfaithfulness To Hosea
A prophet was someone called by God to be a spokesman and a model of the message that God
gave them. The prophets spoke the God given message through different types of oracles, as well
as in a poetic fashion. Not only did God call the prophets to speak the message, he also called
them to visually illustrate the message with their lives. So, they lived out what they preached.
Hosea was a prophet to the kingdom of Israel. God called Hosea to marry a harlot as a symbol of
Israel s adultery against God. Gomer s unfaithfulness to Hosea was an illustrative picture of
Israel s unfaithfulness to God with the gods of the other kingdoms. Hosea had three children
with Gomer, each child s name held a meaning related to Israel s future. Hosea s first son was
named Jezreel as a picture of the future bloodshed, and the end of the house of Israel. Hosea s
second child was a daughter, and her name was Lo Ruhamah as a picture of the mercy that God
would take from Israel and give to Judah. Hosea s last child was another son whose name was Lo
Ammi as a picture of God rejecting the house of Israel as His people because of their sin. After
Hosea and Gomer had their children, Gomer became unfaithful and ran off with other lovers. Little
did she know, she was exhibiting a picture of Israel s unfaithfulness. As a picture of God s

God set aside Jeremiah before birth to take a message to the nations. One of the symbolic actions
that Jeremiah was commanded to do, was to buy a linen waistband, and hide it among some rocks
along the river. After a period of time God told Jeremiah to go and retrieve the waistband. When
Jeremiah did, he found that the waistband was ruined and worthless from prolonged exposure to
nature s elements. This was a illustration of God s people and how their wandering after other gods
had exposed their lives to pagan influence, and that soon made them spiritually

Dr Strangelove Satire
Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, which I will be
referring to as Strangelove, is a political satire directed by Stanley Kubrick that was released in
1964. The Film displays the absurdity of the Balance of Terror during the cold war and the ease of
which a nuclear holocaust could occur, whilst also critiquing the absolute power of politicians
whom have the means to enact one. Strangelove communicates these themes with its use of satire
utilising comedic characters and situations to highlight the ridiculousness of cold warpolitics.
However the implications of using comedy to translate sensitive themes of war and human
extinction are polarising, raising the question is there anything you can t joke about? Assessing
how other texts deal with the same subject matter and analysing people s emotional response to
satire, we will investigate the effectiveness of Strangelove s ability to communicate an anti war
message.

The Climax Hero Vs. Foe Battle
UNIT 6669 presents as a contained horror film. The concept is familiar in which a group of young
adults are trapped inside a building with a masked killer, who stalks them one by one and kills them.
This type of premise is considered tried and true, but because there have been so many films with
the same concept, to be successful the story and/or the characters needs to offer the genre something
new and refreshing. Thus, the script needs to find a more unique hook to stand out from other
similar films.
With that said, the script would benefit from further development, as there are several elements that
are worth discussing.
First, the story opens setting the tone. The inciting event is the first killing, which comes a bit late.
The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, it s never revealed who the killer is and his (or her) relationship to the girl in the photo (the
assumed raped victim). It s unclear how the killer would know about the crew is filming at the
storage facility. If this is the killer s true motivation (revenge for rape), then Arthur needs to be
killed near the end.
Right now, his murder blends in with the others and doesn t stand out. Also, if the killer is after
Arthur, it s not understood why the killer would go after the other crewmembers, but doesn t kill
the security guard. If the killing is not related to Arthur, this needs to be clarified.
The pace of the first act also feels slow. There are non essential scenes that do not move the script
forward, such as the picking up of the van and several of the conversations are not compelling
enough in the first (and throughout the script). In addition, there s very little real character
development crafted in the first act. Thus, make the first act more exciting and move up the inciting
event.
Rick appears to be the protagonist. However, he needs to be more proactive. First, he needs to be
developed as a more relatable character with depth. His motivation for making the film seems to be
money, but the audience knows very little about him. When the killings begin, Rick never comes
up with a plan of action to try and defeat the foe. He feels too passive. He needs to come up with
a plan, it fails, and then he tries again. It s only at the

The Heart And Its Function In The Heart Of The Human Body
The heart is one of the most important organs in the human body. It circulates blood to the rest of
the body. The heart is made up of four chambers, of the two chambers, the two upper chambers
(known as the atria) and two lower chambers (known as ventricles). The heart is made up of three
levels: the myocardium, the endocardium, and the epicardium. The myocardium is the muscular
middle layer of the heart. It contains striated cardiac tissue and the myocardium is in charge of
pumping bloodand the heart s action of pumping. The endocardium lines the inside of the heart and
is made of smooth loose connective tissue and simple squamous epithelial cells.
The endocardium prevents blood from sticking to the inside of the heart and also prevents blood
from clotting. The epicardium is the outermost layer of the heart. It is made of connective tissues.
The epicardium protects the inner structure of the heart and is also known as the visceral
pericardium. The heart is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body. Blood is the body s
transport system and works to perform several functions. Blood is made up of connective tissues
and is vital for the body, because it could not survive or remove waste. The circulatory system,
which is responsible for circulating the blood throughout the body, is always circulated in the same
direction. Arteries carry blood full of oxygen to all parts of the body, the further away from the heart
the smaller they become, which eventually turns them

Essay On Police Militarization
My topic is the militarization of police forces within the United States. I feel as if this is a very
important topic within the Criminal Justice System that needs to be addressed.
Even without paying strict attention to the news media, a person will still find it difficult to avoid
hearing stories about heavily armed SWAT teams, smashing in a door in the dead of night, just to
search for drugs. It is a practice that is becoming more and more common. And as it becomes more
common, so do the horror stories associated with it: mistaken identities and needlessly ravaged
homes, unnecessary shootings of both people and pets, flashbang grenades being detonated near
infants, etc. America s neighborhoods are not a battleground, it s citizens are not enemy
combatants, and it s police are not soldiers.
There are some very fundamental and very important differences between the military and the
police. The armed forces exist in order to protect the country by engaging an enemy in combat,
often on foreign ground. The goal of the military is to physically destroy this enemy; it s soldiers
are trained to kill. Take the eleventh line of the U.S. Army s Soldier s... Show more content on

Analysis Of The Book Portrait Of The Artist
Ovid s Metamorphoses, having no set plot may at first confuse some readers, though it starts with
creation, it moves on the practices involving Gods and mortals and the changes they incur. The
stories seem to follow each other in time, but there are flashback s that show Ovid is not
concerned with the nebulas of time, instead he is showing the transformation s the characters go
through. Passage of time is not Ovid s point, but as he put in the mouth of Pythagoras, the only
constant in the universe is change. Ovid s character s changes are usually immediate, Athena
changed Talos to a partridge, Daphne was transformed into a laurel tree, and Echo, well was
turned into an echo. There is often a discontinuity of time, we know Echo wasted away, but how
long that took is not important the theme is, the often lack of the restraints of time is what makes
mythology so easy to relate for any era. James Joyce in his novel, Portrait of the Artist as A Young
Man, ties his story with the semblances of mythology from the story of Daedalusand Icarus, fusing
the ideas that discovery, sacrifice and rebellion is a process needed to be an artist. Though
Daedalus and Icarus are from a mythical time and Stephen is living in a specific time during
Dublin s history, all characters are faced with the struggles of existence, self discovery, and
learning how to deal with one s own need for artistic freedom and the disadvantages such gifts may
pose. The path that each undergo, either by

The Red Horses By Franz Marc Essay
The German artist Franz Marc painted the painting The Red Horses. He was born on February 8,
1880. Most of Franz Marc s influence came from his father who was a landscape artist. As a result
of this, his earliest works were painted in the naturalistic academic style. When Marc met Wassily
Kandinsky in 1910, he joined an expressionist group. Most of the colors that Franz used in his
paintings had a meaning to him or to the painting. The different aspects and the thought that Marc
put into his paintings really made them come together and become what they are now. Marc and
Kandinsky soon formed their own group, called Der Blaue Reiter. Their philosophy in painting
paintings derived from nature was that the painting itself should reflect the spiritual essence of the
object or animal as opposed to the physical embodiment. In 1912, Marc s works became more

In 1911, Germany was being industrialized very quickly, and urbanization was at an all time high.
By this time in his artistic career, Franz Marc had developed an idea of symbolism for the colors
used in his paintings. This was largely influenced by his friendship with Kandinsky. The colors
used in The Red Horses were largely naturalistic colors; there are no neon or unnatural colors. The
beginning of the 20th century in Germany was where expressionism originated. This movement
had a large impact on Marc s paintings as most of his works were of the expressionist movement.
His paintings were not focused on the physical details of the painting, but on the mood and ideas
that he was trying to relate to the viewer. Franz Marc created several paintings in the year of
1911, and a vast majority of them were related to expressionism. Marc liked nature and seemingly
normal actions that animals were doing. For example, in the painting The Red Horses, the horses
are depicted grazing, but looking deeper into the meaning of the painting, there is more to be

The Catholic Church s Stance On Peaceful Conversion
Conversion to Christianity in Medieval Iberia invoked ambivalent feelings among Christians at the
time. Christians in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries intended to convert Jews and Muslims
through kind words and religious teachings from the Bible. This idea of peaceful conversion,
nevertheless, evolved and Christians began converting non believers through violence and
compulsion. Also, even after individuals were converted, Christians did not always fully trust their
motivations, and believed they would revert into their old religions. While Marian miracles did
help alleviate these tensions, thousands of vicious acts were committed against Jews and Muslims
during this time period. In this essay, I am going to examine the idea of conversion from the
Christian perspective, and how Christians were able to tempt Jews and Muslims to convert. I am
also going to compare the contradictory nature of conversion through peaceful and violent means.
This comparison will showcase how the Roman Catholic Churchs stance on peaceful conversion
was overcome by local Christian communities. Conversion is the act of changing one s religion to
another religion. During the twelfth to the fifteenth century in Medieval Iberia, a number of Jews
and Muslims converted to Christianity. To Christians, conversions represented the elimination of
dangerous enemies and the ongoing triumph of the new Israel. Christians viewed themselves as the
chosen people, as they believed that Jesus Christ

Persuasive Essay On Why Volunteers Are Important In Youth...
Volunteers are one of the most important things in youth sports. Because without volunteers there
can t be any games played or practices, and the kids won t get any better. Youth sports are
important to the kids because it helps kids be able to work as a team better and work together with
other kids, it helps them get better at the sportthey re playing, and it teaches them discipline and
dedication. And, the better the kids get from playing in youthsport organizations, the higher chance
they will have to maybe play in High School, College, and maybe even the pros. Making youth
sports available early on can set people up to possibly play that sport for the rest of their life.
Volunteers do a lot just so the kids can have a good time and learn more skills about a sport.
Most pf the people that are involved with a sports organization do it for free and for the kids, if
there wasn t volunteers, there s no sports. For example, they organize schedules for the games
/practices, they run the scoreboard/score book, they run the snack bar, make food to sell at the
snack bar, find places for the kids to practice and play in, they order uniforms, and they coordinate
fundraising. They make youth sports possible for the kids to get better and learn the skills of the

My Experience With A Lifeguard At The Winner City Pool
In my eighteen years of my life, this summer has surely been the most memorable. It was filled with
countless wonderful memories during these past three months. This summer was filled with loads
of amusement, excitement, nerves, and sadness. Summer started one week early, however, other
than that it was to an extent, the same as the other summers. I spent a vast deal of my time
working, with my friends and family, and in the gym.
This year marked my fourth year working as a lifeguard at the Winner city pool. Each year I have
worked, we only jumped in for kids around three times the entire summer, and this year we jumped
in over ten times. I jumped into the deep side of the pool, which is twelve feet deep and grab a
little boy who started sinking after he jumped off the diving board. It was not strenuous for the
sake of him being light and I could just grab his arm and pull him to the ladder, however, it made
me insanely scary, and I was a little shaken up afterwards. Also, this year I accomplished my third
year of private swimming lessons. Usually I teach around ten to twelve lessons a summer and this
year I doubled that and had twenty seven kids for lessons. Scheduling lessons this year was not
effortless, in consideration of working at the pool and teaching kids basically consumed my summer.
This past summer was comparable to the past summers. I was with my friends and family tons.
Sunday nights were the nights my friends and I would drive to the outdoor movie theater,

However, the vocabulary he chooses is spelled correctly and most of the times it s appropriate

ability to communicate effectively and from the habit of travelling. However, again when it
comes to specific use of tenses (such as present continuous used for planned future) he gets lost.
Reading: I ve observed him in class and he seems to not like particularly reading tasks, when he s
doing pair work he starts making up jokes and gets easily distracted. But then when he arrives at
the activity after the reading he enjoys it more and starts concentrate. Generally speaking with
Corrado we have to consider that he s an elementary student and he makes many mistakes
because he tries to use complicated structures for his level such as present perfect and relative

leader in the group so when he likes an activity (which most of the times he does exept maybe for

Race And Ethnic Stratification Research Paper
Essay 2: Race and Ethnic Stratification Research Paper
In 1957, Malaysia became an independent country and in 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson
signed the Civil Rights Act. Within seven years, the two countries underwent critical
transformations from a history of systematic oppression to new freedoms. Both the United States
and Malaysia are comprised of multiple ethnicities, races, and dynamics that define their social and
economic relationships. Because of the timing of social and economic change, residual effects of
oppression influence the ability of both countries to lessen racial and ethnic inequalities. However,
similarities between racial and ethnic dynamics in the two countries end there. After independence,
Malaysian society was able to progress in a way that significantly reduced socioeconomic
stratification, while in the U.S., the progress was less notable. Much of this discrepancy is due to
the differences between ethnicity and race: in Malaysia, ethnic differences are complex and subtle,
making them easier to ignore or forget; in the U.S., racial distinctions are often as clear and rigid
as the difference between black and white, making significant and lasting progress more difficult to

literature in America Essay
When I think of America, I think of freedom. We live in a country where we can do what we
choose. We can express our opinions and live our own lives. Individuals can form their own
individual beliefs and they can do what they want and pursue what they wish. They can play
basketball, go to school, get a job, have a family, buy a house, or go to church. We are free. We
have opportunity to be whatever we want to make ourselves. When you ask, what is an American?
I find it no different to ask, what is freedom? America and freedom are intertwined and this
relationship is evident in American literature.
The notion of freedom and everything relating to freedom unites all of the American literature we
have read. In Twain s Huckleberry Finn, Huck ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Self Reliance, Emerson explains that our freedom to choose and our ability to think what we
want to think define what America is. I believe it is characteristic of Americans to strive for what
they think is right. In Poe s the House of Usher, Usher decided to bury his sister alive. I think
this story can relate to us today. Many people would say that America is known for persevering
through rough times. I d say the last few years have been a rough time for America, from 9/11 to
now the war in Iraq. Sometimes situations may seem unbeatable, like being trapped in a coffin,
but if you fight hard enough, like we are against the terrorists and in Iraq, you can overcome
anything. American s can overcome anything. Usher s sister was buried alive and finally broke
from the coffin after a week of struggle. Also, many of the authors we have studied describe nature
in riveting detail. To them and to me, our beautiful nature represents something more then just
what you see with your eye it represents America s freedom. In Emerson s Nature, Thorpe s The
Big Bear of Arkansas, Twain s Huckleberry Finn, Bryant s Thanatopsis, and Edwards Shadows of
Divine Things, we see an apparent love and lust of nature by the authors. The great aspects of nature
represent the great aspects of America freedom. The mountains and trees scatter in nature in pure
harmony just like the American people live freely in America. The authors had a fascination

Status Of Women In Victorian England Essay
We certainly can t pick our families, though I am sure many of us have had thoughts of what life
would be like if we were born into a different lifestyle. While your ascribed status is the status you
were born into, your achieved status is what you achieve during your life. Oftentimes people will
let their circumstances dictate what they become, but those striving to attain a higher status will
usually find a way to change their circumstances if possible. One great example would be of
women in Victorian England. Women during this era were given no legal status whatsoever.
Typically women born within a higher class would have a better chance of marriageand lifestyle.
They would still have no rights, but may live in comfort. Women born

Memory In The Reader
Memory is a powerful concept. Often when an individual undergoes a traumatic situation, the
ramifications of these actions seep into an individualВЃfs psyche unknowingly. In effect this passes

The helpless nature of Michaels actions show how much Hanna has affected his subconscious and
although he is made aware of his actions, his physical dependence comes from the deep scaring

On another occasion, after HannaВЃfs death, it is documented that Michael once again
subconsciously desires her presence. Michael dreams of Hanna while travelling through the
countryside to bid HannaВЃfs final wishes.
ВЃgI dreamed of Hanna and myself in a house in the autumn blazed hills that were lining our

than me, more attractive than in earlier years, more relaxed in her movements with age, more at
home in her own body. I saw her getting out of the car and picking up shopping bags, saw her
going through the garden into the house, saw her set down the bags and go upstairs ahead of me.
My longing for Hanna became so strong that it hurt. I struggled against the longing, argued that it
went against HannaВЃfs and my reality, the reality of our ages, the reality of our circumstancesВЃh.
The interior narration here allows the focus to hold a contemplative and introspective view of
Michaels thought patterns. He remembers his dreams and notes them as being irrational and

Genesis Essay
There are two main character in this chapter God and Abram. I believe that the setting of this
chapter is in the Promise Land. I believe this because he says that this is the land that the
Israelites will get when they are released from bondage. From what I know there is the Promise
Land that they receive after several hundred years of waiting. Most of this chapter is about God s
covenant with Abram and how it is going to be fulfilled and how it has started to get to the point
of fulfillment. Here, God test; the faith of Abram and asks his to perform a sacrifice. Verse 1 begins

I verse 2 3, Abram asks the Lord what he (the Lord) wants from him since he does not have any
children. He mentions a man by the name of Eliezer of Damascus. This is the person he says
that will inherit his estate if he shall die. Who is this guy? Where did he come from I mean how
is he involved with Abram? From what I read in the notes of my bible (NIV) they say that this
man could be the servant of Abram. The servants of the owners can be the people that inherit the
land of their owners if the owner was to die. During my reading I never found out where he was
from but I seen that he was also kind of mentioned in Exodus 4:20. In verse 4 5 the Lord tells
Abram that he will have children to take over the land that he has. God has not given Abram
everything that he has promised right on the spot he wants to make sure that Abram has faith in
him but he will fulfill his promises just as he said. God tells Abram to count all the stars in the
sky there are millions of them when he looks up. I believe is saying that we are all decedents or
children that Abram would have. Thus he will make a great nation and have children. Here
Abram repeats the idea of his servant getting the land. This could be because he wants God to
know he wants a child and that God has not given him any like he (God) had promised. In verse 6,

would nominate my Dad. My Dad is deserving of the Humanitarian award because he s a hard
worker, helps others, and is caring. When I say he is a hard worker I mean doesn t come home
until 10, works every day of the week, and doesn t stop until he gets everything done. My Dad is

positive attitude. After he s had a rough game he goes home and tries to figure out ways to
improve. Then gets right back out there and tries again. He is always trying to improve as a

days, but if you or others borrow this or that and not replace the items then over time your supplies
will obviously decrease. Staying organized and inspecting frequently will keep you up to date.
It is a good idea to keep a master list of all items so you can do a quick scan before purchasing
something to make sure you are not doubling up on items. Having multiples of the same things is
not a bad idea in some cases, but if finances are tight, you could spend the money on an item you do
not currently have.
The master list should show the date of purchase, adding what the item cost is an option as well.
Then notate the expected shelf life of foods, medicines and certain medical supplies, so a quick
look would tell you that an item needs to be rotated into daily use before it is wasted. With this
information you could then budget and plan when to replace what was taken away.
Batteries whether in a device or not would have to be inspected for leakage and charge. Often
times the manufacturer will state on the package what the expected shelf life is if stored in the

Monsanto Pros And Cons
Many people talk about GMOs without even knowing what they are. GMO stands for
genetically modified organism, which does not sound like an appetizing name. (Whitman 1).
The GMOs discussed in this essay will be the GMOs developed by Monsanto, Monsanto is most
known for their genetically modified corn seeds; they make their seeds resistant to Roundup so
that farmers can spray the entire crop with Roundup and not have any adverse effects on the
finished product (Whitman 1). One may ask, why corn? This is a good question, corn is the
biggest crop grown in America because it can easily break down into many different components
that can make up so many other resources. In fact, corn is found in more than one half of the
items found at the grocery store. Corn is easily broken down into high fructose corn syrup, and so
many other things, corn has even made its way into diapers (Bawa and Anilakumar). The use of
GMOs is widely considered safe, but there is a body of recent evidence that has proven otherwise.
The use of GMOs in corn crops, although at first sight seem very beneficial to almost all aspects of
corn farming, upon further inspection may have many unforeseen downfalls. One cannot have a
conversation about GMOs without talking about Monsanto. Monsanto was founded in 1901 but
has not become a big factor until fairly recently. As previously mentioned, Monsanto genetically
modifies their seeds to resist the effects of Roundup, they do this to many seeds but mainly corn.
The corn crops have been putting many small farmers out of business because of one smart
adjustment that Monsanto has done to the corn s DNA. They made it so that the plants do not
reproduce (Bawa and Anilakumar). This makes it so that farmers who use GMOs have to go out
and buy new seeds every year, and this gets very expensive. On top of this, the farmers need to
buy Roundup and other resources. Interestingly enough, the farmers lose money every year at
harvest time (Bawa and Anilakumar). One may be prompted to ask, how do the farmers stay in
business? The only way that the farmers make money is because corn is subsidized by the
government, this is how the farmers make their money. The farmers who do not use GMOs end up
most of the time going

Idaho Code, Policy В§ 16 1514A of International Adoption should make some minor adjustments

The Warrior Achilles
The warrior Achilles, within the final year of the Trojan War, has shown why he is a skilled warrior
and revved individual, nearly godlike. In addition to that, at times throughout the lliad, showing his
humanity in moments that have touched him dearly. As it is portrayed throughout the lliad, when it

The relationship or lack thereof between Achilles and Agamemnon would put them at odds

The Relationship Between Economic Globalization And Labor...
The relationship between economic globalization and labor market power provides empirical
trends in world average and the world equality through structural bargaining power and associated
power, thereby allowing workers to achieve convergence across nations (Mahutga). What labor
market power does for economic globalizationis that it increases the probability of labor
internationalism through two models, namely, the structural model and the institutional model.
Beverly Sliver, Tamara Kay, Nita Rudra, and Matthew Mahutga provide different theories and data,
breaking down the trends of labor power and labor movement on a global scale.
The labor movement began during the industrial revolution and exists because of worker
employer relationships and working conditions, thus providing the landscape for labor power
(Mahutga). Labor power can be broken down into associational power and structural bargaining
power. Mahutga s Lecture on Globalization and Labor builds on Beverly Sliver s argument on
the Forces of Labor and Tamara Kay s argument on Labor Transnationalism and Global
Governance about what Labor market power and Labor Transnationalism mean as regards labor
on a global scale (Mahutga, Kay). Is it creating better standards for the working and living
conditions of workers? Associational power results in collective workers ability to unionize and
organize to present one opposing voice. Structural bargaining power results from the workers place

Symbolism and the Concious and Uncounsius Mind in The...
Symbolism has a powerful effect on both the conscious and unconscious mind. Conspicuous

reader; even though the reader may miss an intentional connection made by the author, they are
likely to detect it subliminally. This can have a profound impact on the readers understanding and
impression of a work. In his novelThe Assault, a novel about the consequences of a particular

But if that s the case, then ... then no one s ever at fault. Then everyone can just do as they

introduced as having come in from the night from the chaos of a riot. This emphasizes his

Private Label Rights Content (PLR) is material that was created by a developer who has agreed to
distribute licensing rights that provide people with the opportunity to revamp, re package and resell
the product as their own creation.
Consider the possibilities if you knew exactly how to take existing content and transform it into a
brand new info product that you could sell as your own without ever having to lift a finger in
developing anything yourself.
This is exactly how thousands of online entrepreneurs penetrate new markets without ever having to
invest a lot of time and money into creating their own products from the ground floor up. They
simply take existing material, rework it so that it s essentially a fresh new product and ... Show more

One thing to keep in mind however is that when using private label content to create your own info
product, you absolutely need to spend some time tweaking the content.
It s never a good idea to use PLR content in its original form, because despite the quality, it can still
be improved by simply going over the material, eliminating unnecessary information, and of course,
injecting your own personal style and brand into the content.
You also want to modify the content so that it is not identical to what other people are selling.
You d be surprised at just how many people fail to make simple changes that would improve PLR
content, and by spending just a bit of time making the info product your own, you will be able to
use existing material to develop a brand new release.
To help you get started, here is a check list of things you should do when using private label
content to create your own info product:
Review The Material
If you are planning on using a private label based ebook, make sure that you read over the content
yourself so that you can get a feel for the overall quality, as well as the flow of the material. Don t
assume that the material is of high quality and can be used as is , without personally reviewing the
entire document.
If you are going to give the content your personal stamp of approval, and feature it as your own
info product, you want to make absolutely certain that the info product represents your brand in a
positive way.

Father In Roseanne
In the 90 s television series, Roseanne, the daily life of the Conner family is follow with a
comedic touch. In it, the ways members the family engage with each other is modeled after a
stereotypical view of the American middle class household. As a result, the show focuses mostly on
the actions and roles the father and mothertake as a part of a family. Using scenes in the first two
episodes, it is possible to analyze what being a mother and father means in America in the modern
era. Dan Conner, the father featured in the show, displays characteristics of what many Americans
believe a father to be. In the first episode, when complaints of the sink being clogged arise, he is
the one expected to fix it, and promises to do so. As most fathers are, the manis seen as the
household handyman. The father is also supposed to relieve any serious issues the children are
faced with. While arguing, one of the daughters cuts their finger, creating panic among the kids.
Calmly, the father cleans and bandages the wound. Despite Dan being unable to keep a stable job,
the father is still shown to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the most part, while Roseanne is at home, she is tending to the three kids. In the morning,
she would guide them in getting ready for school by preparing breakfast for them, interrupt
distractions such as talking on the phone, and breaking up arguments the kids would have. In
every case where fighting occurred, the mother was always the one to settle their differences.
These scenes are meant to emphasize the traditional role mothers have in raising and managing
the children of a family. Not only are women supposed to take care of the children, but they also
must keep the father in line. While at work, Roseanne explains how she has molded Dan the way
he is to make sure he is a good husband. In the show, the typical responsibilities of a mother are

Rebecca Study Guide: Chapters 1 3
Chapter 1
1. Describe the setting of the narrator s dream: the house, the drive, the plant life, the general
atmosphere. The narrator opens the novel with the line Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley
again. At Manderley, there is an iron gate leading to the drive . Upon this gate there is a padlock
and chain . The gate s spokes are rusted and the lodge further down the drive is uninhabited . There
is no smoke coming from the chimney of the lodge and the little lattice windows are open and
abandoned. The drive winds, twists, and turns, however it is different than the narrator remembers.
It is now narrow and unkempt . The drive s gravel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consider the opening line. Do you sense that the narrator is relived or yearning for something
she can never have again? Explain why you feel the way you do. The narrator can never go back
to Manderley because the past is still too close to her. The things that she and Maxim have tried
to put behind them would stir again . There would be a sense of fear, or furtive unrest, struggling
at length to blind unreasoning panic . I sense that the narrator yearns for something she can never
have again. She beings to talk about the current circumstances that prevent her from going back
such as the past is still too close to us . This suggests that she is looking forward to a time where
the past won t be too close because she indeed wants to return to Manderley. The extensive
description of Manderley in Chapter 1 also suggests that she felt more comfortable there as
opposed to her current life. Although she endured awful things at Manderley, she yearns to return to
a place and time where she didn t have such painful memories, and that was at Manderley.
2. What impression do you get of Maxim in the third paragraph of chapter 2? He looks lost and
puzzled . All expression died away from his dear face as though swept clean by an unseen hand .
Where this expression has left, a beautiful

Ella wanted to tell kim how she felt, now that she was labeled as Maddy, however that comes to
a short stop because of Josh. and mom was still in bed, probably for the best,I wasn t sure what,

was going through, yet she still wants to pretend to be someone she s not; Maddy. However, she
thinks her parents loved Maddy more, so it s for the best to also put herself in pain and thinking
its the truth. It was unusual for mom to leave the kitchen like this. It was unusual for her to
leave anything out of place. (Chapter 29,pg.200) Ella knew something was suspicious with her
mom when she left the kitchen out of place, not acknowledging the fact that she lost a daughter,
which puts Ella in a place of not accepting the fact that her parents loved her too, yet she still
believes that Maddy was more loved. How d you figure it was me..that I was Ella and not
Maddy? I mean, Alex hasn t figure it out. Not even my parents have questioned it, Ella said. Your

Then the natives land began to shrink. Now in today s society, they have the lowest population amongst groups. Most native people use the land for growing goods like fruits and vegetables to tobacco. With the possibility of a nuclear waste site in Yucca Mountains, it could threaten the fertility of their land. The president is looking out for the natives in some sense, but as you will see later in my paper, that is not true. Since 2010, the site has been abandoned because of the legal battles going on and no waste has been put there (ICTMN Staff). These directors would maintain their role until they failed miserably at the next major disaster. The government must realize that this is a service of government that cannot be taken lightly that we are constant threat of natural disasters and that when local or state government cannot provide then it becomes the responsivity of the United States Government. • 6. Israel s Unfaithfulness To Hosea A prophet was someone called by God to be a spokesman and a model of the message that God gave them. The prophets spoke the God given message through different types of oracles, as well as in a poetic fashion. Not only did God call the prophets to speak the message, he also called them to visually illustrate the message with their lives. So, they lived out what they preached. Hosea was a prophet to the kingdom of Israel. God called Hosea to marry a harlot as a symbol of Israel s adultery against God. Gomer s unfaithfulness to Hosea was an illustrative picture of Israel s unfaithfulness to God with the gods of the other kingdoms. Hosea had three children with Gomer, each child s name held a meaning related to Israel s future. Hosea s first son was named Jezreel as a picture of the future bloodshed, and the end of the house of Israel. Hosea s second child was a daughter, and her name was Lo Ruhamah as a picture of the mercy that God would take from Israel and give to Judah. • 7. Dr Strangelove Satire Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, which I will be referring to as Strangelove, is a political satire directed by Stanley Kubrick that was released in 1964. The Film displays the absurdity of the Balance of Terror during the cold war and the ease of which a nuclear holocaust could occur, whilst also critiquing the absolute power of politicians whom have the means to enact one. Strangelove communicates these themes with its use of satire utilising comedic characters and situations to highlight the ridiculousness of cold warpolitics. However the implications of using comedy to translate sensitive themes of war and human extinction are polarising, raising the question is there anything you can t joke about? Assessing how other texts deal with the same subject matter and analysing people s emotional response to satire, we will investigate the effectiveness of Strangelove s ability to communicate an anti war message. The concept is familiar in which a group of young adults are trapped inside a building with a masked killer, who stalks them one by one and kills them. This type of premise is considered tried and true, but because there have been so many films with the same concept, to be successful the story and/or the characters needs to offer the genre something new and refreshing. Thus, the script needs to find a more unique hook to stand out from other similar films. Right now, his murder blends in with the others and doesn t stand out. Also, if the killer is after Arthur, it s not understood why the killer would go after the other crewmembers, but doesn t kill the security guard. In addition, there s very little real character development crafted in the first act. Thus, make the first act more exciting and move up the inciting event. Rick appears to be the protagonist. • 9. The Heart And Its Function In The Heart Of The Human Body The heart is one of the most important organs in the human body. It circulates blood to the rest of the body. The heart is made up of four chambers, of the two chambers, the two upper chambers (known as the atria) and two lower chambers (known as ventricles). The heart is made up of three levels: the myocardium, the endocardium, and the epicardium. The myocardium is the muscular middle layer of the heart. It contains striated cardiac tissue and the myocardium is in charge of pumping bloodand the heart s action of pumping. The endocardium lines the inside of the heart and is made of smooth loose connective tissue and simple squamous epithelial cells. The endocardium prevents blood from sticking to the inside of the heart and also prevents blood from clotting. The epicardium is the outermost layer of the heart. It is made of connective tissues. The epicardium protects the inner structure of the heart and is also known as the visceral pericardium. The heart is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body. Blood is the body s transport system and works to perform several functions. Blood is made up of connective tissues and is vital for the body, because it could not survive or remove waste. The circulatory system, which is responsible for circulating the blood throughout the body, is always circulated in the same direction. • 11. Essay On Police Militarization My topic is the militarization of police forces within the United States. I feel as if this is a very important topic within the Criminal Justice System that needs to be addressed. Even without paying strict attention to the news media, a person will still find it difficult to avoid hearing stories about heavily armed SWAT teams, smashing in a door in the dead of night, just to search for drugs. It is a practice that is becoming more and more common. And as it becomes more common, so do the horror stories associated with it: mistaken identities and needlessly ravaged homes, unnecessary shootings of both people and pets, flashbang grenades being detonated near infants, etc. America s neighborhoods are not a battleground, it s citizens are not enemy combatants, and it s police are not soldiers. There are some very fundamental and very important differences between the military and the police. • 12. Analysis Of The Book Portrait Of The Artist Ovid s Metamorphoses, having no set plot may at first confuse some readers, though it starts with creation, it moves on the practices involving Gods and mortals and the changes they incur. The stories seem to follow each other in time, but there are flashback s that show Ovid is not concerned with the nebulas of time, instead he is showing the transformation s the characters go through. Passage of time is not Ovid s point, but as he put in the mouth of Pythagoras, the only constant in the universe is change. Ovid s character s changes are usually immediate, Athena changed Talos to a partridge, Daphne was transformed into a laurel tree, and Echo, well was turned into an echo. There is often a discontinuity of time, we know Echo wasted away, but how long that took is not important the theme is, the often lack of the restraints of time is what makes mythology so easy to relate for any era. James Joyce in his novel, Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man, ties his story with the semblances of mythology from the story of Daedalusand Icarus, fusing the ideas that discovery, sacrifice and rebellion is a process needed to be an artist. Though Daedalus and Icarus are from a mythical time and Stephen is living in a specific time during Dublin s history, all characters are faced with the struggles of existence, self discovery, and learning how to deal with one s own need for artistic freedom and the disadvantages such gifts may pose. • 13. The Red Horses By Franz Marc Essay The German artist Franz Marc painted the painting The Red Horses. He was born on February 8, 1880. Most of Franz Marc s influence came from his father who was a landscape artist. As a result of this, his earliest works were painted in the naturalistic academic style. When Marc met Wassily Kandinsky in 1910, he joined an expressionist group. Most of the colors that Franz used in his paintings had a meaning to him or to the painting. The different aspects and the thought that Marc put into his paintings really made them come together and become what they are now. Marc and Kandinsky soon formed their own group, called Der Blaue Reiter. Their philosophy in painting paintings derived from nature was that the painting itself should reflect the spiritual essence of the object or animal as opposed to the physical embodiment. In 1912, Marc s works became more abstract... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1911, Germany was being industrialized very quickly, and urbanization was at an all time high. By this time in his artistic career, Franz Marc had developed an idea of symbolism for the colors used in his paintings. This was largely influenced by his friendship with Kandinsky. The colors used in The Red Horses were largely naturalistic colors; there are no neon or unnatural colors. The beginning of the 20th century in Germany was where expressionism originated. This movement had a large impact on Marc s paintings as most of his works were of the expressionist movement. His paintings were not focused on the physical details of the painting, but on the mood and ideas that he was trying to relate to the viewer. Franz Marc created several paintings in the year of 1911, and a vast majority of them were related to expressionism. Marc liked nature and seemingly normal actions that animals were doing. • 14. The Catholic Church s Stance On Peaceful Conversion Conversion to Christianity in Medieval Iberia invoked ambivalent feelings among Christians at the time. Christians in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries intended to convert Jews and Muslims through kind words and religious teachings from the Bible. This idea of peaceful conversion, nevertheless, evolved and Christians began converting non believers through violence and compulsion. Also, even after individuals were converted, Christians did not always fully trust their motivations, and believed they would revert into their old religions. While Marian miracles did help alleviate these tensions, thousands of vicious acts were committed against Jews and Muslims during this time period. In this essay, I am going to examine the idea of conversion from the Christian perspective, and how Christians were able to tempt Jews and Muslims to convert. I am also going to compare the contradictory nature of conversion through peaceful and violent means. This comparison will showcase how the Roman Catholic Churchs stance on peaceful conversion was overcome by local Christian communities. Conversion is the act of changing one s religion to another religion. During the twelfth to the fifteenth century in Medieval Iberia, a number of Jews and Muslims converted to Christianity. To Christians, conversions represented the elimination of dangerous enemies and the ongoing triumph of the new Israel. Christians viewed themselves as the chosen people, as they believed that Jesus Christ ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Youth sports are important to the kids because it helps kids be able to work as a team better and work together with other kids, it helps them get better at the sportthey re playing, and it teaches them discipline and dedication. And, the better the kids get from playing in youthsport organizations, the higher chance they will have to maybe play in High School, College, and maybe even the pros. Making youth sports available early on can set people up to possibly play that sport for the rest of their life. Volunteers do a lot just so the kids can have a good time and learn more skills about a sport. Most pf the people that are involved with a sports organization do it for free and for the kids, if there wasn t volunteers, there s no sports. For example, they organize schedules for the games /practices, they run the scoreboard/score book, they run the snack bar, make food to sell at the snack bar, find places for the kids to practice and play in, they order uniforms, and they coordinate fundraising. • 20. Race And Ethnic Stratification Research Paper Essay 2: Race and Ethnic Stratification Research Paper In 1957, Malaysia became an independent country and in 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act. Within seven years, the two countries underwent critical transformations from a history of systematic oppression to new freedoms. Both the United States and Malaysia are comprised of multiple ethnicities, races, and dynamics that define their social and economic relationships. Because of the timing of social and economic change, residual effects of oppression influence the ability of both countries to lessen racial and ethnic inequalities. However, similarities between racial and ethnic dynamics in the two countries end there. After independence, Malaysian society was able to progress in a way that significantly reduced socioeconomic stratification, while in the U.S., the progress was less notable. Much of this discrepancy is due to the differences between ethnicity and race: in Malaysia, ethnic differences are complex and subtle, making them easier to ignore or forget; in the U.S., racial distinctions are often as clear and rigid as the difference between black and white, making significant and lasting progress more difficult to achieve. A number of reasons for this contrast between Malaysia and the U.S. will be discussed. For one thing, the conditions succeeding from the U.S. racial climate did not favor African Americans in terms of employment and status, whereas in Malaysia, independence had a ... I believe it is characteristic of Americans to strive for what they think is right. In Poe s the House of Usher, Usher decided to bury his sister alive. I think this story can relate to us today. Many people would say that America is known for persevering through rough times. I d say the last few years have been a rough time for America, from 9/11 to now the war in Iraq. Sometimes situations may seem unbeatable, like being trapped in a coffin, but if you fight hard enough, like we are against the terrorists and in Iraq, you can overcome anything. American s can overcome anything. Usher s sister was buried alive and finally broke from the coffin after a week of struggle. Also, many of the authors we have studied describe nature in riveting detail. To them and to me, our beautiful nature represents something more then just what you see with your eye it represents America s freedom. In Emerson s Nature, Thorpe s The Big Bear of Arkansas, Twain s Huckleberry Finn, Bryant s Thanatopsis, and Edwards Shadows of Divine Things, we see an apparent love and lust of nature by the authors. The great aspects of nature represent the great aspects of America freedom. The mountains and trees scatter in nature in pure harmony just like the American people live freely in America. • 23. Status Of Women In Victorian England Essay We certainly can t pick our families, though I am sure many of us have had thoughts of what life would be like if we were born into a different lifestyle. While your ascribed status is the status you were born into, your achieved status is what you achieve during your life. Oftentimes people will let their circumstances dictate what they become, but those striving to attain a higher status will usually find a way to change their circumstances if possible. One great example would be of women in Victorian England. Women during this era were given no legal status whatsoever. From what I read in the notes of my bible (NIV) they say that this man could be the servant of Abram. The servants of the owners can be the people that inherit the land of their owners if the owner was to die. Thus he will make a great nation and have children. Here Abram repeats the idea of his servant getting the land. • 29. Monsanto Pros And Cons Many people talk about GMOs without even knowing what they are. GMO stands for genetically modified organism, which does not sound like an appetizing name. (Whitman 1). The GMOs discussed in this essay will be the GMOs developed by Monsanto, Monsanto is most known for their genetically modified corn seeds; they make their seeds resistant to Roundup so that farmers can spray the entire crop with Roundup and not have any adverse effects on the finished product (Whitman 1). One may ask, why corn? This is a good question, corn is the biggest crop grown in America because it can easily break down into many different components that can make up so many other resources. In fact, corn is found in more than one half of the items found at the grocery store. Corn is easily broken down into high fructose corn syrup, and so many other things, corn has even made its way into diapers (Bawa and Anilakumar). The use of GMOs is widely considered safe, but there is a body of recent evidence that has proven otherwise. The use of GMOs in corn crops, although at first sight seem very beneficial to almost all aspects of corn farming, upon further inspection may have many unforeseen downfalls. One cannot have a conversation about GMOs without talking about Monsanto. Monsanto was founded in 1901 but has not become a big factor until fairly recently. As previously mentioned, Monsanto genetically modifies their seeds to resist the effects of Roundup, they do this to many seeds but mainly corn. The corn crops have been putting many small farmers out of business because of one smart adjustment that Monsanto has done to the corn s DNA. They made it so that the plants do not reproduce (Bawa and Anilakumar). This makes it so that farmers who use GMOs have to go out and buy new seeds every year, and this gets very expensive. On top of this, the farmers need to buy Roundup and other resources. Interestingly enough, the farmers lose money every year at harvest time (Bawa and Anilakumar). One may be prompted to ask, how do the farmers stay in business? The only way that the farmers make money is because corn is subsidized by the government, this is how the farmers make their money. The relationship between economic globalization and labor market power provides empirical trends in world average and the world equality through structural bargaining power and associated power, thereby allowing workers to achieve convergence across nations (Mahutga). What labor market power does for economic globalizationis that it increases the probability of labor internationalism through two models, namely, the structural model and the institutional model. Beverly Sliver, Tamara Kay, Nita Rudra, and Matthew Mahutga provide different theories and data, breaking down the trends of labor power and labor movement on a global scale. The labor movement began during the industrial revolution and exists because of worker employer relationships and working conditions, thus providing the landscape for labor power (Mahutga).
