This document introduces ReadBeyond, a startup that develops software to improve literacy through audio-eBooks. It describes an audio-eBook as a digital file containing text and its narrated audio recording that are synchronized. ReadBeyond proposes to build an ecosystem for creating, selling and enjoying audio-eBooks using their automated synchronization tool ReadBeyond Sync and free reader app ReadBeyond Menestrello. It highlights that their 130+ free audio-eBooks are available under a Creative Commons license.

Five Basic Components of a Balanced Literacy Programcmvalente78
This is a visual representation of my foundational knowledge about the daily five basic components of a balanced literacy program as identified by the National Reading Panel report in 2000.
The evidence is in and it is compelling! We can help prepare children for reading success during the preschool years. This first in our series of BUILDING BLOCKS FOR LITERACY® webinars will share the research on which this professional development program is based and proven. It will also focus on the important role of oral language development to reading and spelling achievement. Participants will learn why phonology, vocabulary, syntax and pragmatics are all important to young children’s getting ready to enter kindergarten eager to learn. Listening, speaking, reading and writing will be shared as interrelated activities that all have language at the base.

Audiobooks have been considered “accessible by default” for the length of their existence, but the reality is that audiobooks aren’t fully usable by everyone in their current state. In this presentation, we’ll demonstrate the possibilities of audiobook accessibility through a series of demos.

How a text to speech tool works for educatorsCountants
The emergence of assistive Text to Speech tools can potentially transform the way students learn with the assistance of digital devices. Through this write-up, we have discussed some of the major benefits of Text to Speech tools for educators and children with learning disabilities.
This interactive instructional unit is intended to introduce text-to-speech technology to a broad audience, but especially to those who work with individuals with special needs. It begins by explaining what TTS technology is, then explains why it is helpful, and ends by demonstrating how to acquire and use.three different TTS tools (Speak, NaturalReader, imTranslator). Assessment follows each section, and is in multiple choice format.
