Renewable Energy Sources 1800s
Renewable energy sources started increase at early 1800 to late 1800s, being mainly wood.
Water mills played also important part at this growth. As energy source it reached peak around
1875, and started decreasing when coal took his place as United states main energy source. Usage
of renewable energy sources decreased slowly till 1975 when new technology was developed. This
new wave of inventions brought for us solar, wind, geothermal and other new renewable energy
sources. Usage raised little and levelled off after 1975, still being least used source of energy with
hydroelectric power.
Coal usage started growth in early 1800s when first coal mines started operating. Coal produce
more heat per pound, being much more portable fuel. It passed

Okonkwo as Classic Greek Hero in Things Fall Apart
A sense of foreboding envelops us from the first. We sense all will not end well for Umuofia. The
chill of fear grips us as the world of Okonkwo and his clan truly falls apart. Okonkwo will need all
of his power to fight the forces against his world, but tragically he is crippled by the most
destructive malady of all, fear of himself. Achebe employs the form of classical Greek tragedy to
tell his African tale of the rise and fall of Okonkwo.
This most fearsome warrior has proven himself from the youngest age as worthy of honor and
respect. He is driven by his father s legacy of shame and has no use for unsuccessful men. But as
he projects his image of strength, we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is victorious in wrestling, providing wealth for his family, and achieving honorary titles. We
recognize his ambition, his drive to be the best his implied excellence. In these introductory
chapters, we understand the problem for the hero and his society change is coming, but the hatred
of his father and the resulting anger and fear have afflicted Okonkwo. His flaw will be his
downfall in coping with the changes to come.
Okonkwo fears for his disturbingly weak son, Nyowe, and teaches him with his stories
masculine stories of violence and bloodshed. (p. 53) But Nyowe prefers the stories of his mother
stories which teach wisdom rather than action. Nyowe knows that it pleases his father to listen
to his stories, but it is apparent that Nyowe is a thinking person. As Nyowe absorbs the shock of
Ikemefuna s death, we feel the first break in the solidarity of the clan. . Nyowe knew that
Ikemefuna had been killed, and something seemed to give way inside him, like the snapping of a
tightened bow. (p. 61) Nyowe is forming his own impressions of the rituals of his society.
We sense that the death of Ikemefuna has been a turning point in the story. The sense of
foreboding grows. We know the inevitability of disaster now; the crisis is developing. Okonkwo
has ignored the advice of Ezeudu, the wise man inserted in the tale in traditional Greek form.
Although he was warned, Okonkwo kills the boy to show his strength, his bravery,

Crystallization, Sugar, and Fudge Lab Report
Introduction:
Controlled crystal formation is important to acquire a certain texture in crystalline candy.
Crystalline candies are smooth, creamy, and easily chewed with a definite structure of small
crystals that resemble tiny snowflakes. Examples of crystalline candies are fondant, fudge, and
penuche. When a concentration of sugar is higher than 121 degrees Celsius, it is an amorphous or
non crystalline candy, these are candies formed from a sugar solution that does not crystallize such
as peanut brittle, and caramel. The purpose of this lab is to understand how temperature influences
the texture, and firmness of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I did try from the fondant we made it had a gritty like consistence slightly resembling sand,
very hard to chew, and suck to our teeth. It was extremely molar impacting. The reason for the
yellow glossy color and large crystals was because we over cooked the fondant. It was more like a
rock candy then a fondant. The reason why we believed it turned into an amorphous candy was
because the thermometers we were using for both

Behavior Observation
Introduction
At my job, I worked with two students named John and Jimmy. John and Jimmy are two students
at our school with behavior problems. This week, I focused on observing their behavior in
settings to work on tracking the correct accuracy, reliably, and validity (Cooper, J. O., Heron, T.
E., Heward, W. L. 2007). However, before I could began tracking data I had to come up with two
problem behaviors. The problem behaviors I came up with were Aggression and Non Compliance.
In order, to track these behaviors, I focused on duration and frequency. I will examine these
behaviors using a ABC data sheet.
Student 1
The first student I observed was a 6th grader. This student suffers from emotional disability. He
often engages in physical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conclusion
To this end, as I finished up working with student 1 and student 2. I learn how to be more
efficient while tracking data. I learned the importance of observing behavior in a more accurate,
reliable and valid way. It is vital to track the data accurately because it will allow staff to
determine if a student is making progress or regressing with that target behavior (Cooper, Heron
Heward (2007) During my data collection of these problem behaviors, I made sure i put in my
undivided attention to make sure it was as reliable and accurate as possible

Separation of Gold
The industrial separation process that I have decided to do is gold separation. Gold separation
can be done in a number of ways but there is not always one way to do it, but the combination of
a couple of these processes to extract pure gold. Gold is obtained form the lithosphere. It is
separated from the ore found in the lithosphere.
Gold s symbol is Au. Its atomic number is 79 and has an atomic mass of 196.96655 amu. Its
melting point is 1064.43В°C, while its boiling point is 2807.0 В°C. It is a transition metal and is
yellow or gold in colour.
There are also many principles used in the separation of gold. One of these is boiling points in the
process of smelting. In Froth floatation, the principle is the organic chemicals in the ... Show more

Smelting and roasting are classified as pyrometallurgy, which is, the use of heat for the treatment of
an ore
Heap Leach Process:
Low grade gold bearing ore is mined in an open cut, then crushed and screened. Lime is mixed
with the ore to control the pH of the leaching operation. The ore is piled into heaps on
polyethylene pads and cyanide solution is sprayed over the heaps. The cyanide dissolves most of
the gold as it trickles through the ore, producing a pregnant solution which is collected in drains at
the edge of the heap and pumped to a gold recovery circuit, usually a Carbon in Leach
Mining:
Gold in the ground occurs either mixed with loose materials (alluvial) or as grains locked amongst
other mineral grains in solid rock. Some gold may be chemically combined with other elements in
the mineral grains. To obtain a sellable gold end product, ore must be mined and concentrated. The
gold must be liberated from other interlocking minerals then separated from all other contaminants.
Dredging:
Some of the alluvial goldfields discovered early this century were mined using floating dredges. In
Australia, some rivers in the Snowy Mountains and particularly in central Victoria at Beechworth,
were mined by this method.
Normally a pond is built for the dredge which uses a chain bucket at the front to excavate the loose
gold bearing sediment The gold is separated by gravity sorting

Excerpt From How Jackie Robinson Changed Baseball
Imagine being so passionate about one thing that you are willing to face criticism and hate to do
it. This was the case for Jackie Robinson, both a baseball player and a civil rights icon. Robinson
was the first African American baseball player to play in an all white league (in the 20th
century). He was often faced with hate and had to listen to people s cruel remarks. He also had his
fair share of supporters, who admired him for breaking racial barriers in the United States. He was
the start of a new area for the baseballleagues of America. Hero by Scott Simon, Excerpt from How

Excerpt from How jackie Robinson Changed Baseball , where she expounds; Jackie Robinson
became the first Major League baseball player to break the color barrier since 1880 (Birney). It
had been years since a team had members of both race. Robinson did not accept this and signed
to the Dodgers even though he knew what he would have to face. Robinson also challenged the
U.S. social norms by becoming one of the first African Americans to be inducted into the
Baseball hall of Fame. This as a massive feat for Robinson, for this had not happened many
times before. Robinson s baseball success prompted other African Americans to join sports
teams that were previously whites only. In the video Jackie Robinson Mini Bio by A E

around one hundred and fifty other African American/black players joined previously all white
baseball teams (2:31 2:37). This movement of African Americans joining all white sports teams
head butted with the age old idea of separation between the two races. This social norm was
slowly being broken by Robinson and others, and was paving the way to a time where everyone

“Hello Ladies (And Gentlemen)”, Ever Wonder What Other
Hello ladies (and gentlemen) , ever wonder what other meanings commercial ads bring to the
table? Generally often used to attract buyers and consumers, some popular ads were created to
have an appeal to the topic of a certain gender in order to endorse that product advertised.
Commercial ads can give a very positive appeal, or even a negative one, being a widespread topic
that could be considered as controversial to many today. Genderin advertisements can create an
influence upon those who are currently viewing it, and may even convince the viewer to buy that

The Real Merlin Essay
From the shores of Avalon to the court of King Arthur, tales and accounts of the mystical Merlin
abound. Did Merlin really exist, and if so, was he the dark magical wizard of legend or an image
conjured up by superstitious townsfolk to explain occurrences they didn t understand? To answer
this question, one should first look at the actual accomplishments of the figure Merlin. When was
the character introduced and what did he do afterwards? What kinds of feats did this person
accomplish to make him as well known as he is? Secondly, Merlin was well known as a mythical
figure. How did this mythical figure emerge and what aspects of his life do we still remember to

Many stories of the Arthurian legend contain some reference to Merlin, as either a wizard or a
prophet. As a magician, Merlin performed feats such as the moving of Stonehenge, the disguising of
Uther Pendragon, and the crowning of King Arthur by the use of the sword in the stone (Fletcher
25). As a prophet, Merlin told of the defeat of the Saxons, the death of Arthur, and the one who
found the Holy Grail.
Almost everyone knows the story The Sword in the Stone by T.H. White wherein Merlin
instructed Arthur in his life as king, but what most don t know is that Merlin was, in legend, the
son of a devil. An incubus came and bedded with Merlin s mother so that she would bear his
child (Ackerman 168). One story that shows the significance of this union is Geoffrey of
Monmouth s Historia regum Britannae. In this book there is a section that tells the tale of
Vortigern and Ambrosius. Vortigern, the King of Britain at the time, wants to build a new retreat,
but every night the foundation is destroyed. Vortigern s wise men tell him he must sprinkle the
spot with the blood of a child born fatherless. After a long and tedious search, Ambrosius is found
and brought before Vortigern. Ambrosius tells the King not to slay him but to dig in the spot for
two vases. Those digging found these two vases and inside were two tents. Inside the two tents
were a red dragon and a white dragon. These creatures fought each other

The Cabbage Soup Diet limits your food intake to fruit, vegetables, cabbage, unsweetened

Site drainage management is aim to safeguard the house inhabitants and protect the house from

Site drainage management is a very important part of the design of footing system. It is because the

There are several soil results might happen after the tree removal in this case, from limited
influence to significant damage. As this case just mentioned the site soil classification of this
reclaimed land is H1 but not mention the soil type. If it s sandy area, removal trees might cause
less damage to the soil because sand does not swell or shrink with changes in moisture (Victorian
building authority, 2015). However, if these trees are used to take more moisture from the
underground water system in clay soil land, the tree removal land will become more wet or dry
due to the different surrounding agricultural situation. For example, if there are heavy rainy after
the tree removal and there are no other trees or shrubs around the site, too much accumulated
water will stay on the hole and change the clay soils to be more reactive. On the other hand, if
there are other big trees and shrubs around the site, the extra moisture will be absorbed by these
trees and the site soil is going to be dry. Thus, the classification of the soil will be changed and it
lead to change the footing construction system as well. All in all, tree conditions should be
considered before the removal and a more careful site filling and cleaning jobs should be

Importance Of The Pillars Of Public Administration
Pillars of Public Administration and Application to PA Leadership
Understanding the pillars of public administration is a vital way for leaders to gain perspective
when leading successfully. Among these six pillars of public administration, the leadership style
addresses a connection with any civic organization.
Politics/administration dichotomy when viewing this opposition, it should be seen as politicians
writing and making rules while bureaucrats implement and put in place the policies and programs
for the public to utilize. Administration and politics are seen as two separate components where
they should not interface with one another. Even with them being a separate field of study, they
have no choice but to integrate. As Woodrow Wilson looked at how politics and administration
were forming, he felt the importance of government employees conduct themselves in a
professional business manner while ensuring their accountability of providing proper services to
the people and not partake in political philosophies. Politics are aligned with elected officials who
write and pass the policies to be implemented by government agencies which are then applied by
civil servants. By achieving this responsibility, public sector employees are required to embrace the
values and principles to ensure efficiency, legitimacy, and fairness within any level of government.
Therefore, public administrators are seen to uphold integrity within government, be liable to the

lodge because it brings back memories of when opera singer Raymond d Esquerre, spent a month at

Cather made the social environment more important than anything else that involves the setting.
The author uses the highly used point of view third person limited omniscient, getting into the
main characters, Caroline s, thoughts and touching on her feelings: She had an angry feeling
that she had done it rather in self defiance... (3). This point of view helps to get an idea of what
Caroline thinks about everything around her especially the lodge. Cather puts one important
symbol in the story that explains everything. The garden lodge is a literary symbol that stands
for Caroline s past and what she has gained from ridding of that point of time. D Esquerre
coming to live with them in the lodge and bringing back her enjoyment of music made her feel
like she was like her father, holding on to something that will not move her further in life. She

of the lodge. It was like a piece of her past that was yet to be removed and that, in her mind, her
love of music would lead her back to poverty. She did not want to think about that, so she removed

The Battle Of The Somme Essay
In British history, the Battle of the Somme has become one of the most significant battles due to
the death and the horrendous casualties caused with that have made it become an emotive topic.
It lasted from 1st July to 18th November, 1916. The unnecessary sacrifice led to the view that the
brave British soldiers were lions led by donkeys who were sent to their deaths by uncaring and
unskilful generals. Many historians agree on the significance of the battle not in terms of its
success or failure but how it had important results including the reduction of the German army as
well as how the battle had helped the British learn valuable lessons to improve and prepare for
future battles.
In the short term, there is no doubt that the battle was hugely significant due to the overall
casualties and large losses suffered by both sides. On the first day of the battle, the British infantry
advanced across no man s land into barbed wire which they thought was supposed to have been
destroyed but wasn t. It was the bloodiest day in the history of the British army as 19,000 soldiers
were killed and 38,000 were wounded which made a significant total loss of 57,000. However
most of the British soldiers were pre conscriptions and volunteers who were not fully trained and
they did not expect the Germans to come out of their deep trenches ready to fight. These deaths
were linked to poor tactics and ineffective artillery. As the British soldiers advanced, they were
mowed down by rifles and

Assignment On Deck Repairs And Costs
Deck Repairs and Costs
The type of wood that comprises your deck will play a big role in determining what repairs are
necessary, and on what timeline. While composite decks are becoming more and more popular,
there s just no denying the beauty and longevity of a wood deck. Wood decks should last for
several decades when properly maintained, and cost less to install than composite decks.
Wood decks also increase the value of your home, and it is estimated that a standard wood deck
will recoup on average 85.4 percent of its cost when the house is sold. In comparison, a composite
deck will only recoup an average 77.6 percent of its total cost.
Regardless of which type of wood your current deck is made of, the following repairs are most
often required at some point in the life of your deck:
Replacing Deck Boards
One of the most common repair projects is replacing deck boards. You might need to do this for a
variety of reasons, including:
в—ЏInstability If the boards themselves have become unstable, they should be replaced.
Replacing a few deck boards will generally run $500 to 4,000. Some companies charge a minimum
of $1,000 for carpentry repairs, so be sure to get quotes.
в—ЏStairs and/or railing that are loose or not up to code Depending on the severity of the issue
with your stairs or railing, expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $4,000 for this type of repair job,
depending on local rates and materials.

Comparing The Three Abrahamic Religions
The three Abrahamic religions share not just the same Supreme Being but they also share several
common themes. Many people view these three religions as separate entities but are more related
than most people would expect.
A simple commonality between the Abrahamic religions is that they all have a center of worship
and traveling to these locations is a holy obligation to these faiths. Jerusalem and the nation of

The Portrayal of Indian Marriages in the Stories The Old Woman and The Bhorwani Marriage
Culture is comprised of those things which we tend to cherish, and those things, which are
important to us, being therefore the accepted and patterned ways of behaviour of a given people.
India is one of the richest countries in the importance it gives to its culture and heritage. Marriage
forms an important of Indian culture and traditions and is considered as one of the major pillars of
society.
A traditional Indian marriage is an arranged affair in which the decision of the perfect spouse is

This would justify parents wanting to choose a spouse for their children, especially for the
daughters as they would need a man who would look after them and protect them, not just love
them. As hard as it may be for us to imagine, love, in those days, did not play a very important part
in marriages.
Coming back to the freedom to marry out of choice, even in A Stench of Kerosene , written by
Amrita Pritam and from her collection called, Land of Five Rivers Stories from the Punjab , we
see that although Guleri liked Manak, the decision of marriage was not hers and Manak would
have to ask her father for permission, If you want me, go and ask my father for my hand.
However, in The Old Woman , written by Manik Bandyopadhyay, one of Bengal s most prolific
writers, and from his collection of short stories called, Of women, outcasts, peasants and rebels

who the whole family has found faults with, not because she was not a good person, but because
her faults were considered bad according to Indian tradition, Nanda had chosen her, married her
against the wishes of the family . Here we see, how not only was

Advantage And Disadvantage Of English
With the rapidly development of English, English becomes a lingua franca in the world. English
language is spoken by over1.5billion people around the world ( Mufwene, S. , 2010). Non native

The Struggle for Power and Authority
The development and use of power and authority are two of the basic concepts that indwell
mankind. The two novels Animal Farm and Lord of the Flies both have main characters that
uniquely manifest these attributes. Napoleon and Jack approach discipline in a dictorial manner
by using intimidation, propaganda and fear while Snowball and Ralph apply a more democratic
method when dealing with the animals. Napoleon and Snowball have different techniques and
values on how leadership in life should be conducted. This is also true in Lord of the Flies in the
conflict between Ralph and Jack. Throughout the novel it is evident that the theme between
Democracy and Dictatorship is always present. Animal Farm is a perfect example of this. In... Show

No animal shall kill any other animals 7. All animals are equal (Orwell, pg 17) Abuse is
frequently present throughout history, as George Orwell the author of Animal Farm illustrates in
his dystopian allegorical story. It mimics the social structure of life in the communist era when
Joseph Stalin ruled the USSR with an iron fist. Joseph Stalin, a communist leader, ruled Russia
with an iron fist from 1933 until his death in 1953. He cared more about his power than he did
about human life. During Stalin s reign, 12 million Russians lost their lives. Many were murdered
by government forces; many died from starvation and overwork. (George Orwell fights the power)
Therefore this is why Orwell understood that it was not leading to equality for all. At the beginning
of the novel one of the characters is directly modeled on the Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. His
name is Napoleon and becomes known as an utterly corrupt opportunist. Napoleon did not make a
distinct contribution to the revolution not to the formulation of its ideology, not to the bloody
struggle that it necessitates, or even not to the new society s initial attempts to establish itself. He
under no circumstances shows any interest in the strength of the farm but, simply the strength of
his supremacy over it. As a result, the only project he commences with passion is the training of
the new born puppies. Napoleon does not educate them for their own good or for the good of all,
but instead for his

There are Compelling reasons why law enforcement leaders believe that time has come to alter the
police and practice of their organization. These reasons are rooted in the history of policing and

shifting characteristics of crime and violence that affect these communities
Throughout history individuals have been expected to follow the rules of the majority, the demands

Mommy Makeover Essay
A mommy makeover is a plastic surgery trend that helps to reverse the effect pregnancy has on your
body. After one pregnancy, some women naturally return to their pre pregnancy figure, but many
women don t especially after two or three children. Breasts begin to lose volume and sag, the
abdomen that is stretched during pregnancybecomes loose and doesn t tighten even after rigorous
exercise. Some fat deposits are also very difficult to get rid of even with strict dieting and exercise.
The remedy for all of the above is a mommy makeover.
There are five main treatments included in a typical mommy makeover, including an

A tummy tuck tightens the muscles in your abdomen and removes excess skin. There are several
levels of tummy tuck, including a full abdominoplasty, a belt lipectomy, a small incision
abdominoplasty and a reverse abdominoplasty. Our specialist will help you choose the one that will
give you the best results.
Breast augmentation may be a breast lift or breast implants. For some women, a breast lift is all it
takes to restore their breasts to their original position. It involves raising the breast and
repositioning the nipple. For other women, breast implants are the best way to restore volume and
make the breasts look younger and fuller. Implants may be recommended to restore the original
size and firmness or to make the breasts a little larger than they were before pregnancy.
Liposuction can remove fat, but it does not treat loose or stretched skin that may be left behind
after the fat is removed. This is the main reason liposuction is typically used along with a tummy
tuck. The combination of these procedures is the most effective way to make the abdomen and

Wondrous Wetlands Ecology Summary
Wondrous Wetlands Ecology Summary
SUMMARY
Wondrous Wetlands is an article about the conservation department of Missouri finding ways to
save wetlands for future generations. Those who are directly impacted by wetlands are those who
enjoy things such as hunting and wildlife watching, but can affect everyone, because wetlands
contribute to the clean water that we drink and even cycling nutrients in our environment. When
wetlands began to diminish in the 1980 s, conservationists realized there was a problem when they
saw waterfowl populations diminishing. The department then developed a plan to develop more
wetlands to try and save the populations, which was known as the 1989 WetlandPlan. The wetland
plan developed an additional 12,500 acres ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I really enjoyed how the article talked about the plans that the state of Missouri is working on to
keep waterfowl populations around as well as all other organisms that live in a wetland
environment. I think that it is so true that so many are forgetting about how important ecosystems
such as this one is to the survival of many. We as a human species have gotten so wrapped up in our
smart phones and computers that many of us forget the beauty that the outside world holds.
One piece of information that really stood out to me in this article was that since the advance of
technology used to study wetlands has grown, we now can determine what kinds of plants will
grow in just a few inches of water and who will benefit from it. Since contour maps were
replaced with computer mapping software they can now also determine small changes in
elevation that also affect organisms and where they can be found. Even though it will take time to
fix many of the populations that were affected by the decline of wetlands, I am glad to see that
there is a plan in place to try and preserve these areas for future generations as well as needing
them for our

A Reflection Without Respect
Society simply cannot function without respect. Respect is defined as the admiration or
appreciation of someone. If no one had respect for one another, there would be chaos. There
would be no appreciation of other people. This would cause an outrage among the society because
people would have no manners and think they can get away with saying or doing whatever they
want to someone else. Then, when someone gets their feelings hurt, they would fight back, and this
cycle would continue. This could cause national debacles because no one would feel like an
important part of society. For example, if teachers were not respected by students and were yelled
at everyday, would they want to continue working under these conditions? This can also go all the
way up into the government. The president not respecting his country would cause citizens to feel
hatred against the leader and could cause outbursts. Not having respectcould be as simple as
shoving into someone and not saying sorry, or all the way up to violent protests. This means that a
lack of respect could cause a boatload of problems in the world.
A society without respect would be full of ignorance and selfishness. People would start to
believe that showing respect for another person is a sign of weakness, when in reality it shows
strong values. A self actualized person would realize that being respectful is a necessary trait to
have. A big part of respect that seems to get lost is self respect. This is almost the most

The Portrayal Analysis Of Rosalind s As You Like It
After considering all the definitions available from The Oxford English Dictionary Online of
the word giddy chosen from the passage, As You Like It Act 3 Scene 3, lines 281 328, I had
concluded that Definition 3 A deemed to be the most relevant to the passage. The description of
attributes and actions and elated to thoughtlessness {OED online, 2017) seems rather fitting to
the character of Rosalind, and almost key, for Rosalind a petite but noble, wise woman, with a
profound knowledge of all the intricacies of the heart, and indeed how to manipulate these
emotions and stir within others foolishness. Danson Brown suggests All Rosalind s speeches
should be played giddily as she is stylistically varied he continues that Rosalind s adopts registers
that change in mood from teasing to holiday humour (Danson Brown, 2015 p.56) However the
quote I thank God I am not a woman, to be touched with so many giddy offences as he hath
generally taxed their whole sex withal. (Rosalind in As You Like It
, 3.2.335 38) in itself is quite
giddy light headed, frivolous, flighty (OED online, 2017) as there is a verbal irony it involves a
discrepancy between what is said and what is really meant, as in its crude form, sarcasm. The
themes of the entire play as well as this chosen passage also fit around the definition of giddy aptly
the delights of loveand the malleability of the human experience, and the motif of artifice, being

President Franklin D. Roosevelt s The Saturday Evening Post
Freedom from Want is my favorite of all the ads I came across during research. The history of
this painting dates back to World War II and former President Franklin D. Roosevelt s speech.
During Roosevelt s annual State of the Union address on January 6, 1941, he spoke about four
freedoms. The four fundamental freedoms are freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom
from want and freedom from fear. Norman Rockwell was inspired by this speech and made
painting that depict each of the fundamental freedoms. Two years later, on March 6, 1943, The
Saturday Evening Post published the set of paintings by Norman Rockwell. The paintings later
became the centerpiece for war bonds advertisement and raised $130,000,000 in war bond sales.

well made and cooked to perfection. The turkey s beautiful appearance along with its enormous
size show plenitude and abundance. However, a large percentage of the world population in 1943
were living in hunger and poverty. At least 3 million people died from starvation and malnutrition
during a famine in the Indian province of Bengal (Lazzaro). Therefore the huge turkey in this
image serves as a motive. The huge turkey represents freedom from want. It creates the assumption
that the turkey (freedom from want) is worth fight for. Freedom from want is also a display of
patriotism. Rockwell chose to make illustrations of Roosevelt s proposed freedoms instead of

Americans as prosperous and free, and effectively communicates the warmth, security and hope of

men believed that ladies were second to them and treated them poorly in various ways. The
Tehran Militant Clergy, was to a great degree strict about ensuring natives were following the
Islamic laws. The Islam religion powers ladies to wear veils, called a hijab, to cover their heads
and parts of their faces and necks. There are many different reasons for why ladies in the Islam
religion wear the hijab. A few Muslims trust that the hijab is worn in light of the fact that God
expects ladies to cover their hair. In Persepolis, Satrapi demonstrates to us that most ladies didn t

Since the company has higher value of current liabilities which make ВЈ64.40M as compared to its
current assets, which comprises of ВЈ48.07M. The Acid Test ration of 0.73 does highly support this
evaluation. The ROCE (profitability) of 5.6% shows that the company pays more for its
borrowings, which reduces shareholders earnings. The company s ROCE is based on Sales
Revenue to Capital Employed of 0.83 (low margin/high turnover) and the operating profit margin is
6.75%. So this evaluation shows that the company makes 6.75p (before interests and taxes) for
every ВЈ of sales. The company s Net Debt is ВЈ16.79M which seems low on average compared to
any company at the similar ranking position. Tottenham Hotspur: Team Analysis The
performance chart shown in Appendix 2 shows the position of Tottenham Hotspur against other
premier league football clubs. The Enterprise Value (EV) has been used here as a reference
value to rank different teams. EV is used to compare companies having varying levels of debts.
However the enterprise Value (EV) is not an accurate indicator of any company s financial
position because the EV can also be originated by large quote of debt. Thus, more accurate
analysis is required to compare the same data during the certain period of time. In order to plot the
data, different metrics have been divided in different charts. Considering the large differences in

What I Want About Washing Clothes
We all do it; it just depends on how and where. I m talking about washing clothes. You do it
yourself at home, go to a Laundromat or have them professional cleaned. One way or the other it
has to be done because we like to look and smell good. I wash my clothes at home on a weekly
basis. I do this so that I can take my time and pace myself because, washing clothes is very time
consuming. The tricky part of it is that your way may not be my way, but since this is my story,
it s my way, so here we go. WE start first with the products. We have to make sure we have all the
products we need. We need dirty clothes of course, detergent, fabric softener, bleach, dryer
sheets, spray wash, a basket, water and of course a good washing machine. These are the main
products that are used in washing, but like I said this is my way, so we are going to element
some of things. I have eczema which means my skin is very sensitive, so we will element the
fabric softener. Once, we get all of our products we are ready to start the process. The first thing
is gathering all of the dirty clothes. Most dirty clothes will be found in the hamper, but like I
said, my story. We will find clothes on the floor, under the bed, bottom of the closet, draped over
a chair, or just about anywhere, but very few in the hamper. Take all the clothes and dump them
in one big pile. Next we will separate by color. We will have light, dark and white color piles. Just
to make matters a little

Stereotypes Of Comics Women
The Silver Age of Comics represents a foreshadowing of the decline in quality and appreciation
of comics. After the golden age of comics came the silver age of comics, which began 1952 and
ended in the early 1990s, it was one of the first time the comic book industry s really started to
introduce the superheroroles into their comics. The first hero that really is in the golden age of
comics this hero was a masked detective who has similar features to batman but just not as
popular known as the The Clock. The Clock first appeared in the comic book Funny Pages #6
Nov. 1936. During The Golden Age, comics were mainly based on war and horror stories. In 1954
the Comics Code Authority was implemented due to an apparent link between the rising... Show

The vast majority of dudes (are) doing this high testosterone sort of storytelling, and so we put
our fantasy on the plate on the pages, said McFarlane regarding the stereotypical portrayal of
women in comic books. As much as we stereotype the women, we do it with the guys. The guys
are all good looking, not too many ugly superheroes. They ve all got their hair gelled back. They
have got perfect pecs on them. They have no hair on their chest. I mean, they are Ryan Gosling
on steroids. Right? They are all beautiful. So we actually stereotype and do it to both sexes. We
just happen to show a little more skin when we get to the ladies. although still a big issue today
this was a major concern for the parents buying comics for their children they did not want to
buy something for there kids that was showing women with well developed assets who were
wearing skin tight clothing or showing as much skin as they posible could without having the
female character just be completely nude. Another source of much indignation is how many
female characters, when they are not getting mangled or raped, are used as little more than eye
candy for the male masses sex symbols whose personalities are as flat as their cup sizes are
disproportionately huge, whose roles are as thin as the fabric of their poorly designed, anatomy

everyone ignores him, unfolds One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest. The novel begins in the morning
that a new patient, Randle McMurphy, is placed in a mental institution, where Chief is one of the

by the introduction of friendly competition Gambling and encourages people to protest against the
petty rules and set of Nurse Ratched ( Big Nurse ). McMurphy bets with the other people in the

Shakespeare s Sonnet #73 Essay
Shakespeare s Sonnet #73, published in 1609, is written in the Shakespearean or English sonnet
style. It consists of three quatrains and one couplet at the end, written in iambic pentameters. Each
quatrain has its own rhyme scheme, rhyming in alternating lines. The couplet summarizes the
preceding twelve lines. Sonnet 73 appears to contain multiple parallels to death and the person
speaking in the poem gives the impression that he is near death and reflecting back upon life.
The first quatrain, That time of the year thou mayst behold me/ When yellow leaves, or none, or few
do hang/ Upon those boughs which shake against the cold/ Bare ruin choirs where late the sweet
bird sang. He seems to be comparing his life the unspecified season, ... Show more content on

Meaning, death will come, without question. He plays upon the sun setting, which in some
cultures was a god dying every evening (and he would be reborn every morning). The sun setting
could also be regarded as the sun going to sleep, which plays on the last line of the quatrain,
quot;Death s second self, which seals upon rest. quot; This line talks of the eternal sleep, or death.
This quatrain suggests a night without the possibility of day, quot;seals upon rest. quot;
In the third quatrain, In me the glowing of such fire/ That on the ashes of his youth doth lie/ As
the deathbed whereon it must expire/ Consuming with that which it was nourished by. He seems
to compare his life to fire, burning bright in youth, when energy and ideas bound forth, but
eventually it all turns to ashes, fragments of the passing youth, essentially death. He also makes
implications of lying upon the ashes, his deathbed, of days gone by, days when he was young and
full of energy. The fire proposes finality, the non cyclical process that night and the seasons are part
of, which Shakespeare has worked towards in the poem.
The final couplet, This thou percev st which makes thy love more strong/ To love that well which
thou must leave ere

We sense all will not end well for Umuofia. The chill of fear grips us as the world of Okonkwo and his clan truly falls apart. Okonkwo will need all of his power to fight the forces against his world, but tragically he is crippled by the most destructive malady of all, fear of himself. Achebe employs the form of classical Greek tragedy to tell his African tale of the rise and fall of Okonkwo. His flaw will be his downfall in coping with the changes to come. Okonkwo fears for his disturbingly weak son, Nyowe, and teaches him with his stories masculine stories of violence and bloodshed. (p. 53) But Nyowe prefers the stories of his mother stories which teach wisdom rather than action. Nyowe knows that it pleases his father to listen to his stories, but it is apparent that Nyowe is a thinking person. As Nyowe absorbs the shock of Ikemefuna s death, we feel the first break in the solidarity of the clan. . Nyowe knew that Ikemefuna had been killed, and something seemed to give way inside him, like the snapping of a tightened bow. (p. 61) Nyowe is forming his own impressions of the rituals of his society. We sense that the death of Ikemefuna has been a turning point in the story. The sense of foreboding grows. As a prophet, Merlin told of the defeat of the Saxons, the death of Arthur, and the one who found the Holy Grail. Almost everyone knows the story The Sword in the Stone by T.H. As this case just mentioned the site soil classification of this reclaimed land is H1 but not mention the soil type. If it s sandy area, removal trees might cause less damage to the soil because sand does not swell or shrink with changes in moisture (Victorian building authority, 2015). However, if these trees are used to take more moisture from the underground water system in clay soil land, the tree removal land will become more wet or dry due to the different surrounding agricultural situation. For example, if there are heavy rainy after the tree removal and there are no other trees or shrubs around the site, too much accumulated water will stay on the hole and change the clay soils to be more reactive. On the other hand, if there are other big trees and shrubs around the site, the extra moisture will be absorbed by these trees and the site soil is going to be dry. Importance Of The Pillars Of Public Administration Pillars of Public Administration and Application to PA Leadership Understanding the pillars of public administration is a vital way for leaders to gain perspective when leading successfully. Among these six pillars of public administration, the leadership style addresses a connection with any civic organization. Administration and politics are seen as two separate components where they should not interface with one another. Even with them being a separate field of study, they have no choice but to integrate. As Woodrow Wilson looked at how politics and administration were forming, he felt the importance of government employees conduct themselves in a professional business manner while ensuring their accountability of providing proper services to the people and not partake in political philosophies. Politics are aligned with elected officials who write and pass the policies to be implemented by government agencies which are then applied by civil servants. Many historians agree on the significance of the battle not in terms of its success or failure but how it had important results including the reduction of the German army as well as how the battle had helped the British learn valuable lessons to improve and prepare for future battles. In the short term, there is no doubt that the battle was hugely significant due to the overall casualties and large losses suffered by both sides. On the first day of the battle, the British infantry advanced across no man s land into barbed wire which they thought was supposed to have been destroyed but wasn t. It was the bloodiest day in the history of the British army as 19,000 soldiers were killed and 38,000 were wounded which made a significant total loss of 57,000. However most of the British soldiers were pre conscriptions and volunteers who were not fully trained and they did not expect the Germans to come out of their deep trenches ready to fight. These deaths were linked to poor tactics and ineffective artillery. As the British soldiers advanced, they were mowed down by rifles and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. A Reflection Without Respect Society simply cannot function without respect. Respect is defined as the admiration or appreciation of someone. If no one had respect for one another, there would be chaos. There would be no appreciation of other people. This would cause an outrage among the society because people would have no manners and think they can get away with saying or doing whatever they want to someone else. Then, when someone gets their feelings hurt, they would fight back, and this cycle would continue. This could cause national debacles because no one would feel like an important part of society. For example, if teachers were not respected by students and were yelled at everyday, would they want to continue working under these conditions? This can also go all the way up into the government. The president not respecting his country would cause citizens to feel hatred against the leader and could cause outbursts. Not having respectcould be as simple as shoving into someone and not saying sorry, or all the way up to violent protests. This means that a lack of respect could cause a boatload of problems in the world. A society without respect would be full of ignorance and selfishness. People would start to believe that showing respect for another person is a sign of weakness, when in reality it shows strong values. • 44. What I Want About Washing Clothes We all do it; it just depends on how and where. I m talking about washing clothes. You do it yourself at home, go to a Laundromat or have them professional cleaned. One way or the other it has to be done because we like to look and smell good. I wash my clothes at home on a weekly basis. I do this so that I can take my time and pace myself because, washing clothes is very time consuming. The tricky part of it is that your way may not be my way, but since this is my story, it s my way, so here we go. WE start first with the products. We have to make sure we have all the products we need. We need dirty clothes of course, detergent, fabric softener, bleach, dryer sheets, spray wash, a basket, water and of course a good washing machine. These are the main products that are used in washing, but like I said this is my way, so we are going to element some of things. I have eczema which means my skin is very sensitive, so we will element the fabric softener. Once, we get all of our products we are ready to start the process. The first thing is gathering all of the dirty clothes. Most dirty clothes will be found in the hamper, but like I said, my story. We will find clothes on the floor, under the bed, bottom of the closet, draped over a chair, or just about anywhere, but very few in the hamper. Take all the clothes and dump them in one big pile. Next we will separate by color. We will have light, dark and white color piles. Just to make matters a little ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The vast majority of dudes (are) doing this high testosterone sort of storytelling, and so we put our fantasy on the plate on the pages, said McFarlane regarding the stereotypical portrayal of women in comic books. As much as we stereotype the women, we do it with the guys. The guys are all good looking, not too many ugly superheroes. They ve all got their hair gelled back. They have got perfect pecs on them. They have no hair on their chest. I mean, they are Ryan Gosling on steroids. Right? They are all beautiful. So we actually stereotype and do it to both sexes. We just happen to show a little more skin when we get to the ladies. although still a big issue today this was a major concern for the parents buying comics for their children they did not want to buy something for there kids that was showing women with well developed assets who were wearing skin tight clothing or showing as much skin as they posible could without having the female character just be completely nude. Another source of much indignation is how many female characters, when they are not getting mangled or raped, are used as little more than eye candy for the male masses sex symbols whose personalities are as flat as their cup sizes are disproportionately huge, whose roles are as thin as the fabric of their poorly designed, anatomy hugging ... • 47. Shakespeare s Sonnet #73 Essay Shakespeare s Sonnet #73, published in 1609, is written in the Shakespearean or English sonnet style. It consists of three quatrains and one couplet at the end, written in iambic pentameters. Each quatrain has its own rhyme scheme, rhyming in alternating lines. The couplet summarizes the preceding twelve lines. Sonnet 73 appears to contain multiple parallels to death and the person speaking in the poem gives the impression that he is near death and reflecting back upon life. The first quatrain, That time of the year thou mayst behold me/ When yellow leaves, or none, or few do hang/ Upon those boughs which shake against the cold/ Bare ruin choirs where late the sweet bird sang. He plays upon the sun setting, which in some cultures was a god dying every evening (and he would be reborn every morning). The sun setting could also be regarded as the sun going to sleep, which plays on the last line of the quatrain, quot;Death s second self, which seals upon rest. quot; This line talks of the eternal sleep, or death. This quatrain suggests a night without the possibility of day, quot;seals upon rest. quot; In the third quatrain, In me the glowing of such fire/ That on the ashes of his youth doth lie/ As the deathbed whereon it must expire/ Consuming with that which it was nourished by. He seems to compare his life to fire, burning bright in youth, when energy and ideas bound forth, but eventually it all turns to ashes, fragments of the passing youth, essentially death. He also makes implications of lying upon the ashes, his deathbed, of days gone by, days when he was young and full of energy. The fire proposes finality, the non cyclical process that night and the seasons are part of, which Shakespeare has worked towards in the poem. The final couplet, This thou percev st which makes thy love more strong/ To love that well which thou must leave ere ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
