Sustainability
Remote Work and
Sustainability
25. Related Sustainable
Development Goals
SDG GOAL EIGHT
Remote work by allowing flexible work schedules,
lower fuel emissions, less building space, and less
utility usage, which affects the economy positively
SDG GOAL NINE
Innovation is actively implemented while supplying
the federal government's IT needs. This, in turn,
fosters innovation by allowing the government to
have the right equipment to grow
SDG GOAL SEVENTEEN
Remote work allows inclusivity for different minds,
ideas, and approaches to come together
43. Building Accountability and Transparency
• Coastal Community Foundation and dashboard project
• Food Insecurity Project
• Georgetown County dashboard
• New RISE Center
The Murrells Inlet Systems Approach. Designed to show how our group connected SDGs to the nature, people, and the economy of Murrrells Inlet. Planetary boundaries relate to topics touched upon throughout the report.
Expalin what the UN Goals are
Aims to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
Localized to bucksport this would mean sustainably managing the ecosystems in the Waccamaw Wildlife Refuge and reversing land degredadation that has occurred in Bjcksport primiarily due to development
Change in Forest Cover:
NOAA 15.53% of its total forested area
Northern most nesting location for STK
Long leaf pines are an important nesting location for RCW
Lakeland Sand- very deep, excessively drained soil, rapid permeability and slow runoff
Hobbony- very deep soil, but very poor drainage
Eulonia- very deep, moderately well-drained soil
adding more topsoil, aerating, composting, using deep-rooted, drought-resistant grasses and plants, you can overcome these common limitations and restore the health and functionality of soil resources
Palustrine forested wetlands are marshes and swamps that are some of the most productive habitats in the world, important for biodiversity and mitigating flooding.
conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development

Good evening my name Katelyn Cilino and I am a Senior Sustainability and Coastal Resilience Major concentrated in Science in Ecoystems with a minor in Environmental science. This summer I was able to have the opportunity to intern with the Village Plantersville Summer academy. During the Summer I was able to develop a Culturally Embedded STEM Education Curricula: Titled Flood Resistance in Georgetown, SC. This curriculum aligns with Sustainable development goal 4, 11, and 13.
