12. CornMillCottage
Client Brief: Link the cottage & converted outbuilding, and extend the cottage to provide a
master bedroom and new kitchen.
Design Response: Create a contemporary transparent ‘link’ to provide a strong architectural
juxtaposition between the ‘old & new’. Embracing the opportunity to provide a bright, open
plan space flooded in natural light, in contrast to the original cosy stone cottage.

13. GroveHotel,Narberthc hallenging c ommer cial....
Client Brief: Extend the existing 6
bed Grade II Listed Boutique
Hotel to offer 14 luxury suites.
Also provide a new restaurant
and function area, kitchen,
lounge bar and administration
facilities.
Design Response: Design an
extension that respects both the
Victorian and Georgian
architecture of the existing hotel.
Design for modern efficiency and
comfort, without compromise to
the unique character and style of
the hotel.
14. EastHookBarn
Client Brief: Convert the traditional stone barn in to a second-home, suitable for both family use,
and a high quality holiday let.
Design Response: Respect the existing character and context of the barn; re-use existing
openings, specify a sympathetic palette of materials and finishes, but with a quirky response to
renew the existing non-traditional convex roof, but with a contemporary twist ....

15. PenPantCottage
Client Brief: Obtain planning permission to convert redundant cottage in to farm workers dwelling.
Having tried to achieve this for over 10 years with other consultants, this is our last attempt.
Design Response: Appraise previous planning attempts, and move forward with fresh, new and
innovative ideas. Nothing to lose, time to think outside of the box ....

16. SealyhamHomeFarmc omplic ated c onver s ions ....
Background: Site with ‘negative planning history’ resulting in poor marketability of the
barn conversions, leavings a client seeking to find a better solution to the current
planning permission.
