There are several strategies used by the ministry of heath to ensure
Drug information are made available through the following ways;
Ensures use of printed materials such as formulary manual. It
contains summary information on a selected number of drugs
usually based on essential drug list, provide information about the
drug’s generic name, strength, dose, route of administration and
dosage.
Encourage use of drug therapeutic committee (DTC); so as to
increases the safe and effective use of medicine in the facility hence
provide information to the health workers about which drug is the
most safe and efficacious therefore pharmaceutical personnel knows
which drug to order and supply also prescriber knows which drug to
prescribe.

Provision of pharmacology and therapeutic education to
the health proffessionals: this include study in curriculum of
health workers such as nurses, doctors, pharmaceutical
personnel and others health personnel.

include list of the drugs that satisfy the priority health care needs of the
population hence provide information to the pharmaceutical personnel
and prescriber making medicines management easier in all aspects like
procurement avoiding multi stocking and storage to enhance shelf life.

Creation of Non-Organization Government and
Government Organization for provision of drug
information: like drug information centre (DIC) so as to
provide unbiased information about banned, un-authorized and
substandard drugs
Encourage use of mass media: include use of newspaper or
magazine containing drug information that can be provided to
the whole community such as pharmaceutical journal
Provision of seminars to the health workers; this allow
more discussion and progress assessment emphasizes patient
safety, involvement in health screening and exposes attendants
to leaders pharmacy well.
