Bad habits interrupt your life and

prevent you from accomplishing your

goals. They jeopardize your health —

both mentally and physically. And they

waste your time and energy.
What causes bad

habits?
Most of your bad

habits are caused by

two things:
Stress and boredom.
often we think that to
break bad habits, we need
to become an entirely new
person. The truth is that
you already have it in you
to be someone without
your bad habits. In fact,
it's very unlikely that you
had these bad habits all of
your life. You don't need
to quit smoking, you just
need to return to being a
non–smoker.
It can lead to heart disease, cancer,

diabetes, stroke, bronchitis,

emphysema, and other health

problems. It also raises your risk of

tuberculosis, eye problems, and

immune disorders like rheumatoid

arthritis
How bad habits affect your life?
Adopting new, healthier

habits may protect you from

serious health problems like

obesity and diabetes. New
habits, like healthy eating

and regular physical activity,

may also help you manage

your weight and have more

energy. After a while, if you

stick with these changes, they

may become part of your

daily routine.
Healthy habits help prevent

certain health conditions,

such as heart disease, stroke,

and high blood pressure. If

you take care of yourself,

you can keep your cholesterol

and blood pressure within a

safe range. This keeps your

blood flowing smoothly,

decreasing your risk of

cardiovascular diseases.
Over time, patterns

form, both in

behavior and in the

brain. This can make

it extremely difficult

to break a habit.

has to trigger a habit,
and a cue can be
anything. ...
Disrupt. Once you know
the cues, you can throw
bad habits off track. ...
Replace. ...
Keep It Simple. ...
Think Long-Term. ..
