2. Roles and Responsibilities
1. Monitoring and Supervise and carry out all the inbound, out bound value add, rework operations in a manner
consistent with the port & customs, JAFZA, Health, safety, EHS and other local government requirements and
polices. Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods, liaising
and negotiating with customers and suppliers and developing business by gaining new contracts, analyzing
logistical problems and producing new solutions.
2. Negotiating with shipping line for least freight rate. Clearing the cargo and receive in the warehouse by proper
planning with warehouse team for utilize warehouse space and avoid demurrages in the port. Carry out
invoicing on all picked / shipped items, ensure necessary documents are filed and forwarded to customs for
clearance and further forwarded to the delivery. Generating online municipality approval for food, DG and
cosmetics materials. Arranging COO for duty exemption documentation from Dubai chamber of commerce.
3. Supervise loading operations and ensure they are carried out safely and appropriately with minimum damages,
monitor clearance operations and follow up with the team thereby enabling timely clearance activities and
achieving service standards on delivery schedules. Implement and ensure that the First in First out (FIFO), Last
in First out (LIFO) and AGING system for “shelf life product” in the warehouse is being followed.
4. Organize and arrange for the appropriate supply of packing material the local market. Ensure that outbound
shipments are packed as per destination / customer specifications and that necessary clearance; certifications
and labels are attached to enable timely delivery of goods to the customer. Maintain the yard/ warehouse
effectively, plan the space appropriately and store cargo neatly (as per the customer requirements) thereby
enabling quick retrievals when required.
5. Monitor regular stock / cycle checks as required and resolve discrepancies to achieve stock accuracy. Adhere to
special commodity handling instructions for DGR shipments and maintain well housekeeping standards at all
times, taking quick corrective actions when required. Effectively organize and allocate manpower and
equipments to ensure orders are expedited as per priorities, that resources are allocated for optimum
utilization, suggest and implement processes to improve warehouse effectiveness.
6. Ensure that the department is staffed with requisite numbers and caliber of staff to meet its objective (as per
guidelines provided by effective operations Department), their performance is appraised, they are developed,
motivated and encouraged to maximize their capabilities, productivity and contributions.
7. Record and report all discrepancies, services rendered and costs thereby preventing liabilities to the
organization, minimizing losses and maximizing revenues for the warehouse. Prepare and provide necessary
reports as required by the management.
3. 8. Develop Implement QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) and security policies and procedures in the
distribution centre and ensure that good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times, taking quick
corrective action when required.
9. Liaise with the customer, operations, customs, forwarders and others. On the status of shipments and
constantly keep the customer updated on the progress thereby enabling quick resolution of bottlenecks and
smooth operation.
