This document summarizes a study on the availability and use of instructional materials for modular competency-based education and training programmes in Malawi technical colleges. The study found an inadequate supply and lack of availability of instructional materials for technical programs. It also found a lack of skills among teachers for effectively designing, developing, and using competency-based instructional materials. The study recommends teacher professional development to improve these skills and ensuring an adequate supply of instructional materials to achieve the goals of competency-based education and enhancing apprentice competencies.
