This document summarizes the results of a survey about film preferences. It found that of 30 respondents, 14 were male and 16 were female. The largest age group was 17-21 years old. The most popular genres were thriller, romance, and comedy. Most respondents preferred a simpler, linear storyline over a complex, nonlinear one. Many purchase products related to films and are interested in magazine features and new film information. For magazine covers, most prefer more images and less text.

1. What is your gender?
Out of 30 people 14 are males, leaving
16 of them being females this is fairly
good representative sample ,as their is a
fairly even amount of both genders. This
gives me confidence as I am not
discriminating against any gender but
rather also taking into account opinions
of both sexes.

2. What age group do you belong to ?
Out of the 30 people who answered my survey 16
of them were in the age group ranging from 17
year olds to 21 year olds. Which is majority is more
505 of people who answered my survey. Analysing
my results I will have to take this into consideration
so that my judgement on people preferences are
not biased.
7 out of 30 people are 22 to 33 year olds , 2 out of
30 people who answered my survey are over 34
and rest are 16 and below. Although my survey is
not equally proportioned I do however have
variety of people from all the age group who at
least answer the survey this will give me an idea of
whether or not age in film trailer preferences
differ.

3. What is you favourite film genre ?
Looking at my results the most
favourable genres are thriller,
romance and comedy.
The respondent who choose other
specified that they liked a
combination on comedy and
romance.
When choosing my genre I will take
this into consideration.

4. Narrative in film can be shown in
two ways nonlinear structure which
is more difficult complex storyline
structure .Which can includes a
extensive flashback or flash
forwards whereas linear is more
straightforward easy to understand
structure such as a Hollywood
blockbuster.
When watching films do you prefer a more complicated challenging
storyline or a more straight forward film ?
Looking at my results majority of my respondents preferred a more simplistic linear storyline. This
will help me plot out ideas for my own trailer. 9 out of 30 people didn't really mind what structure
the movie is in along as its entertaining.

5. Do you purchase products relating to films ?
Looking at my results I can see
that people do want to buy
products that relating to films
which makes me feel positive
about constructing a magazine
front cover.

6. What interest you the most when buying a films magazine?
13 out of the 30 respondents
said that magazine features will
interest them most when
buying . 6 people out of 30
preferred to have new
information about the film and
the rest buy magazine because
of the competitions and gifts. I
will take all this into
consideration when
constructing my magazine
front cover.

7. In magazine cover/poster what do you prefer?
Looking at my results majority of
people who answered my survey
like to see More images and less
text and 1/3 of the people asked
prefer and even amount of text
to images. I will also take this
into account when constructing
my ancillaries.
