2. When editing and creating are Thriller opening we used many different types of
software. We used final cut to edit are thriller and to add sound to it. By doing this
we have learnt a lot about this software, we can now change the color of the
clips, with editing techniques we can change the mood of the clip and we change
the lighting.
The image in the bottom right hand corner is a
picture Nathan Boothroyd editing the film after
various tasks such as preliminary and our
children's film we are now all fluent when
using final cut to edit short films.
3. This image in the bottom left hand corner is Daniel Rayson working on are
thriller opening. At this moment he is working on creating the opening titles for
our thriller. We originally created are titles on photo shop but they were to bold
for our opening sequence and they were drawing to much attention and people
were missing important bits of the opening.
We then decided to use simple credits with a
bland font so people noticed them but were
not distracted by them, this seemed to work
and also look a lot better witch is my personal
opinion. We then looked through font to put
the title of the film in but final cut did not
have many we liked, we then found a great
online websites with loads of different fonts
witch you can download for free and they
work in every operating system and most
software.
4. This picture on the left is of me (Andrew Carolan)
working on the sound for our opening sequence.
When creating the sound we learnt a lot about
final cut, you can slow down the speed of the
sound and change the pitch of the sound.
It was crucial that we learnt these skills as non diegetic sound is used a lot In thrillers and
we wanted to make sure that are opening sequence was fitting in to the genre that we
aimed for, also this sound we have I feel builds up tension and effects the mood of the
audience.
